I found if the bag was fully packed out a water bottle, even of a smaller size, was a squeeze at best and if your bottle is tall it had potential to fall out considering how much rucking around I do with the backpack. Ideally a taller and larger pocked, with fabric that has a little more give, as much as I love the sailcloth! Otherwise it's a near perfect backpack in my eyes!
