Thanks. Hmmm, I'll have to check out your YT on how you packed two weeks worth of stuff into the 30L. I was leaning toward the 45L for just one week! The 45L is also pushing the limit for carry-ons, and I generally use my PD Everyday Backpack Zip 20L as my carry-on (although it's full of camera gear, so I need a separate "personal" pack and a checked bag). I may have trouble bringing both the 45 and the 20, but the 20 and 30 should work...
This is a great travel bag because of the clamshell opening. The fact that its just a empty space adds versatility. I highly recommend as a travel bag.

@@peachphs Do you know if can I access to my camera from the side of the 30L travel backpack with camera cube? With 20L everyday backpack its possible ad its very usefull…
I haver the 45L for the simple reson that it is a perfect overhead (hand luggage) luggage size; I use the messenger as a personal item additionally, which also works great.
Complicated question. I have a messenger for everyday use, and use the Everyday 30L sometimes for shopping or shorter things, but that might also be me just having too many Peak Design things. Shopping I could also do with the 45 for sure. In daily use, I am fine with the 13L of the messenger.
I like the Aer but it is a bit heavier - they have an Aer small which is 28L. The Aer is good if you like a bit more admin pockets in the front of the pack. I think it would be best to try on both to get a good feel and fit. My spouse who is 5’2 and 110 pounds loves the Peak Design 30L as its default is actually 27L and fits her frame - the Aer was another choice but fully packed for her was not as comfortable although the Aer has a thicker suspension system (harness) for me I am 6’1 and 180 Pounds and I found both the Peak Design and Aer 28L to be comfortable fully packed out - I use the Peak Design regularly as I can stow the harness and carry it like traditional luggage - my travels have me moving from cabs to oddly fitting vehicles so the ability to stow the pack neatly is a plus.
The 45L is actually more versatile considering it can be used as a personal item when in 30L compressed state or as a carry-on when in expanded 45L state.
I have narrowed it down to this and Nomatic 20L-30L travel pack. I like the fact that Nomatic has more compartments so my laptop and tech can stay as is when I am using the main compartment. But the nomatic weights more at 4.16lbs vs peak design 3.17lbs. Also nomatic is much cheaper at costco and costcoNext.
It's incredible how you answered my most burning question in the first minute itself. Thank you! I'm hoping Spirit and Frontier let them be considered personal items too
I’ve flew with mine with Spirit last year out of NYC to Florida and several times with JetBlue. Going with JetBlue again in two weeks and this is my go to personal item for flights
Just came across this video. Thanks for the info! Just curious how it worked with Avelo Airlines and if by chance you've also flown with Frontier since. Here that they are very strict and will be flying with them pretty soon.
This sounds like a one-travel bag that I'm looking for but I'd like the security of being able to lock it. Is it possible to lock the main compartment or any part ?
Great video! You said the water bottle pocket were deep but that bottle was hanging out. It’s so rare to find waterbottle pockets that aren’t shallow. My bottle always work their way out and falls out when I bike. I use a Camel Chute bottle and also Nalgene and always have the same problem unless they deep
I have one and the build quality is ELITE. My biggest issues are the shoulder strap buckles get loose easily when just picking up. And, the sternum strap is necessarily difficult to get on and off. I've struggled multiple times trying to find where to latch the sternum buckle.

Thanks for the thorough and helpful review! For those curious, these (and the PD EDB 30L) should (if the website isn't lying) fit within most airlines' carry on limit. Hi! We've been able to fit it under airplane seats no problem. It's helpful when it's compressed to slide in easy, but it could probably fit well even if it was expanded. The only time we had difficulty putting it under the seat in front of us was on a small propeller plane we just took island hopping in Greece, as it was a small plane, and for some reason there were metal bars that cut off half the underseat space (so I don't think many other personal items would have fit either). We've been very pleased with the bags, and they have been our go-to under-the-seat personal item on countless flights. Hope it helps! :)

My roller is smaller than your Monos so maybe the visual effect is less "big bag/small bag" and more like "hey, she's got two carryons!" I'm just a little worried about this combo hmmm
