Excellent review. Starting to consider a hybrid for next vehicle, but my 373 mile trip has one top priority. NON STOP. THIS model asks the questions few with 100k in their hand will ask...oh yea, the wannabes will lease it....the interiors are still the best in the business short of Bentleys or Rolls
Because some of you have more knowledge in term of "hybrid ", please let me know: why was not use for this car an 3L V6 petrol engine + electric motor (charged by petrol engine also). This engines mix is already in use by an car model from Mitsubishi.
The only real competitor is the XC90 Excellence! Equipped like a Autobyagraphy (that you can’t get for this model) way faster and at another level when it comes to quality and relatability.
Agreed it makes no sense unless you want to be able to drive it the HOV lane...Rivain R1S seems to make more sense.... and hope to see a comparison test when they start to sell them...
N C Not ironic. Starting in October 2021, only full EVs will be exempt. Cabbies own their cars for a long time, so it makes sense. RRs are leased, so this is the last year when it will make any sense to do so. You still get 2 years of no congestion charges if you buy one now.

Land Rover-Range Rover. Marketing semantics. The parent brand is Tata [at the moment] and they have three brands with several models in each. They have LR, Jaguar, and RR. They only put the LR oval on the RR in recent years in order to give the brand some authentic off-road image and kudos. They don't give the Jaguar a LR oval even when its made on the very same production line as its RR sister model [thinking F-Pace and Velar]
@@nc3826 I own and have owned expensive vehicles. Even the Toyota dealer will give you a loaner. That's not the issue. It's the inconvenience of going through the process in the first place. To me, at least, the trade-off is not worth it.

RR p400e sucks!!! Read my nightmare with RR before buying one.New 2020 RR PHEV I bought 3 months ago from Official dealer in GA had orange engine light turned on when I came back home, still turned on after 3 times back to dealer service with changing different parts. Now has been at service 4th time for last month and they said that all this model cars in the world will be recalled for new hybride software that will be ready at the end of September 2020. 3 months after buying a new very expensive car, still stuck to service. Dealer said that JLR refused replacement because any car they replace will need the same software update all p400e models in the world will be recalled. JLR used my car as a lab to find a common defect but still not replaced or refunded.
Is it just me or should Land Rover ask ford to buy it back ? Then it gets the new RWD platform and a more or less reliable platform and a better tech & then they’d have access to all electric platforms ford has access to thanks to Volkswagen.
Luxurious interior is very tempting. However, the clumsy infotainment system which is often frozen and miscellaneous malfunctions which is the identity of Landrover quality make people hesitate to buy.
I don't really understand the comment that the fuel economy isn't much better than the V6. You said yourself that you used almost no fuel on your daily commute of 30 miles over a mountain. I would say that almost no fuel is pretty damn good fuel economy. I guess it's because on long road trips, if you use up the EV charge, you get 25MPH but is that what most people do on a daily basis? Super long road trips? I don't know anyone like that. In fact, I think most people only do that a few times per year. In addition, the normal driving mode is HYBRID, not pure EV or pure gas. In that case, I have heard that the fuel economy is around 70 mpg and lasts a very long time. It's too bad that you didn't use the truck in the way that most purchasers will use it. Sadly, I can't add my experience as mine hasn't arrived yet.

I love that you list the rear seat headroom. So many cars have too little headroom for tall back seat passengers.
Well, they've done it. JLR has built the fastest- and worst-depreciating vehicle in history.
