His grave is no more sad and lonely than any other grave. How happy can a grave be?
It could be more FAbuLOUS!!!
His grave is probably sad and lonely because the gay uncle can be forgotten!
❤️ brilliant actor & comedian Paul lyde
One reason I'm being cremated. Cemeteries are all lonely. Most people are forgotten in a matter of time. I can't see paying four or five figures for a coffin that's going to be put in the ground in a couple days and never be seen again.
I agree. He's got a nice headstone, and he's buried with his family. He's not "lonely."
I adored Paul. Loved him on Hollywood Squares, his own show, and Bewitched. It was a treat to recognize his voice in Charlotte's Web.
I never realised he did voice over in Charlotte's Web.. I've got the dvd of that in front of me now.. Not watched in years tho
@petejones879 He played Templeton the Rat in the original '73 version. He was so good. Enjoy it!!!
Funny man, but I guess he was mean as hell( queen) sure was funny though
❤ brilliant comedian Paul Lynn
One of my favorites of his was his part in Send Me No Flowers.
Everything comes to an end. This includes us. Loss is sad but part of life.
Thanks for this remberance of a real fixture on television in the 60's and 70's. I always loved his characters. God Bless
He was one of my most favourites in my childhood - I didn't always get the jokes but his death at 55 (Im sonly 52) is most tragic. He was amazing!
Paul Lynde was an indelible part of my childhood in the UK. Hanna-Barbera's "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" would have been nothing without Lynde's vocal characterisation of Sylvester Sneekly a.k.a. The Hooded Claw !
Thanks Steve. Paul Lynde was priceless, loved him in every show he was in!
Definitely a national treasure.
He was my favourite in bewitched
I drive by there all the time on Route 3.
I will have to stop and visit his grave.
He was a one of a kind personality.
Bewitched and Hollywood Squares. Paul was hysterical on both. He always cracked me up!😂
I loved his talent. He died too young. So funny in Bewitched and the Paul Lynde show. Thanks so much! Happy new yesr!
I watched bewitched reruns in the 80s when I was a kid. Had no idea he was already dead when the show was on, in 1982 I was 5 years old, I didn’t know they were reruns. Thanks for the good memories paul
He played a doctor on one episode of the Munsters too. Herman went to see him.
Such an iconic actor from the 60s! His portrayal of Uncle Arthur made Bewitched one of my favorites!
❤❤ Paul was a great Actor and Uncle in Bewitched and Hollywood Square Show. RIP 🇺🇸 ⭐️
Buddy Hackett was center square for awhile before Paul proved he was best for the position. One never knew what he'd say next. Many years ago, I knew someone who'd been in school with him. Said he was the same then as when we knew him on television. His death was reported in an issue of the Stars and Stripes paper we got at the Air Force base. Was kind of a shock, really. When I need a laugh, videos of his Hollywood Squares days tend to cheer me up.
Mt. Vernon.. just "down the street" from my hometown of Columbus Ohio. GREAT video!!!
Very cool!
A great comedian who was quick witted and always made us chuckle
I didn't realize he died so long ago, or so young. Wow. He was definitely one of my favorite comedians growing up. He was great as Uncle Arthur, how to describe him? The consummate smart ass and I was just like him. Hope all is well with you Steve. Happy New Year! Danny J.
Danny!
Thank you for showing this video he was so wonderful and funny and loved by us all
The passing of stars such as Tom Smothers, Lee Sun Kyun, Henry Sandon, Richard Franklin, David Leland, Casey Kramer, Kamar de los Reyes and Bandit Drag Queen in December 2023 is a sad loss for the entertainment industry. . Each name represents their diversity and unique contributions. Our love for them is a profound tribute, and their memory will continue to shine for generations to come.
He's not lonely. He's surrounded by family.
Thank you for sharing this video. I have always like Paul Lynde.
Wonderful story & documentary! Thank-you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
He was a funny comedian, may Paul Lynde ,R.I.P! 😢🙏🌺🥀💐🕊
I remember as a little kid watching Hollywood Squares with my mom and brother laughing so hard when he'd crack a joke every time, he was the best. Geez, so many of these stars died so you back then.
Thanks for the video featuring Paul.As a child I watched Bewitched in reruns and he was so funny and the part of Uncle Arthur suited him very well.A sad ending though in 1982.
In his show the Paul Lynde special he had kiss on in 1976.
I remember him being a regular guest star on the Donny & Marie Show. They seemed to alternate between Paul and Ruth Buzzi.
I notice from the headstone he was born the same year as my dad.. Who was still with us till 2017
I used to work for FedEx I'd stop every year in the summer to see his grave. People always left trinkets
That's a nice thing to do. It was quite a trek to get out there.
@TheLifeandSadEnding part of my route was Butler, Amity, and Mount Vernon . so I drove by there every week. It seems strange visiting a movie stars grave, no one was ever there . That's over a period of about 10 years. There was always a little stuffed animals and some people would leave change on the headstone
Yours, mine and everyone we know will also have forgotten graves
Wow did not know he died so long ago. No wonder I have not seen him in anything recently. RIP Uncle Arthur..
Paul is in that great sit com in the sky. RIP Paul.
They don’t make them like him anymore, great actor and funny man, RIP Paul
I absolutely Love your Videos . And I truly appreciate all the time and work that you put in to every one of your Videos to make them so enjoyable for me and everyone else to watch .
Paul was definitely a one of a kind Guy . I loved seeing him on every Show that you mentioned in the list . And yes , he was a riot on Hollywood Squares !! It was great also to see him in
I Dream Of Jeannie , when I could tear my eyes away from Barbara Eden . And Bewitched . Elizabeth Montgomery was quite a looker , too . I'm quite sure I saw all of his Halloween Specials . I Recorded his Special with the Band KISS on the Show . I'm sure that VCR Tape turned to dust about 20 years ago . I hope you're doing well and staying safe . 🎸
Wow, Thanks for all your kind comments!
Paul was an original , witty , smart, brilliant in his comebacks on Hollywood Square’s , he is dearly missed.
Great guy. "Hey I'm Paul
.
Lend me a laugh!" 😅🎉❤
❤I loved Paul Lynde.
It took me a while to learn to appreciate Pau's wit and humour.
Loved Paul Lynde. Funny man.
❤Paul Lynn
he was unique and truly funny.....the original campy queen. Loved him
I love the episode with him as an eye doctor on the Munsters when Herman comes for a check up, I've never laughed so gard.
RIP Paul Lynde. You'll be back one day!!!
Great job on the video Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Uncle Arthur
Can’t imagine what things were like back then !
Better than what we have nown
I get the feeling that he would stand & look around in his inimitable fashion, making one of his faces of exasperation & say in a snarky voice - "I'd rather be in Cleveland!!"😊
RIP to a truly humorous actor! We love you Paul! 🙏😞
Paul had a characteristic laugh. Later in life I heard people laugh like him, one of my friends in particular, and it made you laugh thinking of him. Very unique funny laugh Paul had. Uncle Arthur to the rescue!
Thanks Steve massive fan of Paul sadly missed by many fans .. great talent
Actually the headstone is beautiful. He was hilarious-- great sense of timing.
A very talented man who still gives laughter
Thank you we were talking about the squares and password and yes he was the favorite and we all look forward to having him on that show p a u l gave us so many laughs and he is remembered and we love this video that you made thank you
That guy was so sharp I never saw anyone as quick witted as him.
His death was a tremendous loss!He was so hysterical.God rest him.❤️🙏🏻
As a kid, I remember watching him on The Donnie and Marie Show in the late seventies. He was hands down the funniest cast member of that show.
I can never think of a moment with Paul Lynde that didn't make me laugh. He was such a brilliant comic actor.
May you rest in peace, Paul, and thank you for all the laughs.
Such and upbeat and joyful post. Thanks for sharing
He was funny whatever he appeared in. Also he was the voice of The Hooded Claw in the Penelope Pitstop cartoon.
I just visited his grave last weekend; it is great country drive. As a child of the 70’s, I remember him well from TV and did not know he was local to the area. His resting spot is in a very small, very rural cemetery. A real contrast to his flamboyant Hollywood persona.
It's really out in the country isn't it?
Funny guy. Another talent who slipped away quietly into that good night.
my favorite paul lynde one liner was on celebrity squares. "what predator plies the coast of the gulf of mexico and has the nick name the great white?" paul: an alabama sherriff.
He was the classic voice of many characters on Saturday morning cartoons. Particularly Hanna Barbara.
I seem to remember a TV special he did for Halloween 1976 where one of his guests was the rock band Kiss.
“Paul, why do Hell’s Angels wear leather?”
“Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.”
Even if he didn’t write his own jokes, no one could deliver them like he could. He made the jokes his own through his delivery. Rest in peace, Paul. And thank you for making us roar with laughter.
I loved him he was a talented actor
I'm 60 years old and remember so well on Hollywood Squares when he described the different religions...one was the Baptists...."turn, or burn". I still smile when i think about that!
Love him!! ❤❤❤
Wow! Been over 40 years!
He really made everyone their day. We miss him dearly. RIP and hope to see you soon.
Great actor comedian.he was the voice of the Rat in the 1st Charlottes Web.
I saw all those movies and tv shows. Funny man.
Thanks for posting, sleep well Paul.
Go home and sleep well. Thanks for your comment!
Sleep well? He's dead dummy
He was hilarious, and I loved him as a kid. RIP Paul Lynde! 🙏
Solid!
Top KEK!
Peace be with you.
The "sad ending" is just an insignificant part of what he went through life, and becoming a famous celebrity, otherwise this video wouldn't exist. He left a happy and "laughter" to many people before his demise. Thank you Paul for the laughter and fun. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Really nice video, very good.
I loved him as Uncle Arthur in Bewitched and in Hollywood squares and more so in Rowan and Martins laugh in
Not aware that Paul Lynde was ever on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in. Maybe you are getting Alan Seuss mixed up with Paul
I love Paul Lynde he was funny and a great actor thankyou for the good times sir RIP. Man he was funny.
Paul had a great highly successful life,no sadness there.Besides all graves are sad and lonely highlighting the end of that person.
It’s far from sad and lonely, he’s buried with his whole family, not many people can be that fortunate.
I’m from Mt Vernon. My great grandparents and great aunt is buried there. I took pictures of the plots also.
Paul Lynde, like so many in those years, lived in the closet and under an umbrella of depression. He was a very funny man and is very much missed by those in our generation. He never failed to make me laugh, especially as Uncle Aurthur on Bewitched and in his latter years on Hollywood Squares. R.I.P.
He was a very funny man. Thanks for the memories Paul.❤
All graves are sad & lonely, unless the service is going on right then and there. On that note, Lynne gave me some GREAT laughs as a kid. Not just on Bewitched but remember his voice over as that RAT on the cartoon movie "Charlotte's Web" ??? I laughed so hard at the scene after he stuffed himself at the carnival and was literally rolling full, I was in tears LOL. Great talent, sorely missed.
My favourite memories of Paul are of his voice characterisations. He had an absolutely hilarious and unique vocal style. I laughed at my brother trying to mimic Mildew Wolf in the 1970s. Wonderful times. 😊
Paul was a funny guy. I hope wherever he is now, he found peace.
Paul always delivered the laughs, truly one of the greatest. He also did voice for several cartoon characters like the Hooded Claw on Penelope Pitstop, and the wolf on Lambsie. I miss his crackshot humor.
Paul’s ‘Salty humor’ wouldn’t be acceptable in today’s world. I laughed many times from his humor. He is dearly missed.
Sir i wanted to ask if you knew Mr. Paul Lynde was gay or were those rumors? We share a birthday June 13th. I always enjoyed his laugh. You know I didn’t know that the answers were scripted. All these years. Thank you for your site. I just found it accidentally and can’t wait to watch more. I’m always interested in people of the past. And quickly, thank you for the info on Paul’s family. So very interesting and maybe a little sad too!
Mr .Lynde was a great guy, for a television viewer in the 70's!!!!!! Funny as!
Both his mom and dad died young of a heart attack. Wish they had the good heart medicine they have now then. He was funny and charismatic
My favorite character that Paul Lynde played was Harry MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie. He was great on Bewitched and Hollywood Squares too.
I saw him at the air port once. I recognized his voice and turn to see him about 10ft from me.
Once you've gotten to know his style of humor, it's hard to look at the expression on his face and not laugh. And you hear his voice 😊
I didn't realize hr was so young. Everyone liked him.
Paul Lynde s funny and soo hilarious wise cracking remarks can get any one laughing at him. No matter what he says 😅 he's totally missed a lot rest in peace Paul Lynde. Pam Johnson
I always liked him as an entertainer. Bewitched. Hollywood Squares. I've watched his Halloween tv Special a few times, the tv debut of KISS. Roger in American Dad is basically an homage to Paul. I heard he was very resentful of his career success and would always put down the jews.
I don't meant that to throw dirt on his grave but he had his issues and just interesting he was the way he was and he didn't like another minority. "Oh.. you're an animal!"
I loved Paul Lynde, he was funny on Hollywood squares and bewitched.
Funny guy. Died young. RIP Paul
I didn’t know he was a fellow Ohioan. He looked so much like the Kennedys which fascinated me. Always watched him as the center square on Hollywood Squares. He was funny.
A pricless talent. Gone too soon.
RIP Paul Lynde & his family. 🕊💐🪽🌙
Happy ending to you my brother 💞 you earned it. Love the Show 🤩.
You are Absolutely Awesome!! Love your videos!!!
Thank you so much!
