i think the speaker emulated output is one of the most exciting parts of this amp. I've been playing a 77 JMP 50 for 27 years this is the amp that will continue that legacy. Only a Friedman can replace a vintage Marshall! Runt 50 inbound!!!

Curiosity/question here....OOOPs, just notice post below regarding the "tonal difference" between this and a Small Box 50...thx for clarifying! I have the SB 50 with the Sat Switch mod and since I have a Rivera Rockcrusher Recording box, the DAW direct feed is solved....the 20 watter Runt would then be my main interest vs. the Pink Taco. I also run a Koko Boost pedal with mine (mainly for Plexi Channel, when/if wanted). This Runt 50 and the SB 50 do seem like close bro's or cousins...but the Runt has more recording functionality, which is sweet.
@2:34 I noticed that you have the bass knob almost all the way down on the clean channel. I own a Runt 50 as well and was wondering if this was normal. The clean channel seems quite bloated in the low end and the top is a bit spiky/punchy (even with the 'Bright switch off). I'm wishing the clean channel wasn't so... CLEAN. It really needs a little saturation.

My Runt 50 is a noisy amp...I've tried different pre-amp tubes, still noisy, especially with the gain past 7 (2:00). Also, with no separate gain control for the clean channel, light grind is impossible unless you're playing at 110 dB. Love the higher gain side, just wish it was quieter. Would love to hear if anyone has these issues?

Zach Szydlo got your answer. It took me 2 yrs to see this. He posted awhile back it was a JB in the bridge but switched to motor city pups. I guessed right if u look down below. I switched my own to Doug Aldrich I love them. Very high gain. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks! I've had the Strat for a while. I always need one around for work, but I'm really not a "Strat guy". I've had several, but always sell them off. I found this at Guitar Center and was blown away. Someone had custom ordered it, then sold it back to GC after about 1 month of owning the guitar. I happen to come in that day and was able to get it at a drastic discount! As far as Strats go, it's excellent. And those Dimarzio's are really really excellent. There's a Paul Gilbert Dimarzio in the bridge which helps thicken the tone out, but still sounds like a Strat bridge SC pickup.
Great demo and you are a tasty player brother. Well, I wish the hell Sweetwater would have said this RUNT was coming. I didn't see any news out of the Namn show prior. Sucks. I dont like my dirty Shirley Mini bought 3 months back. No 2 channel and the OD is greasy not tight like the demos you and others ran on You tube and the 3 switch selector just isn't working. Auto hand control. Yes i tried several guitars to come to I MADE A MISTAKE. Too late...Keep up the good work.
Similar, I'd say. Kinda like they're cousins, or brothers. The SB is punchier and a little quicker attack. A little more BE-ish. A little more ACDC and VH. The Runt can do those things too, but it's a little thicker sounding and a touch more compressed. It's hard to describe. They're similar, but related. Thanks, Michael

Yep. It'll go raw and metal. Not as brutal as the BE100, but it'll go there.
