I was at the game - bro everytime he stepped up to the plate - the crowd went nuts . Those home runs , stolen bases man 6 for 6 10rbi all from one person . Dude it was sick
Lucky you! I’m genuinely envious 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Man you are a lucky fan! Thanks for the post describing the atmosphere in such a cool, concise manner!
The rest of us wish we could have lived vicariously through you😂
Lucky you. Excitement
Damn, you just got a lifetime memory that few did. Props. I can't imagine what the atmosphere was like.
Miami Marlins fans, players, staff, especially Skip Schumaker... Thank you for elevating the game of baseball yesterday!!! Can't say this enough!!! Class acts all around!!!
I recommend watching "Shohei Ohtani Babe Ruth Commercial". Its beautiful!
We are all fans of Skip Schumaker now!
They understood the situation🤷🏻♂️ it’s baseball we knew it was coming before he even spoke..I hope ya did
@@Datguy18 The right thing to do, not in contention; give some players REAL BATTING PRACTICE.
FACTS !!!
Blessings to this gifted athlete! 👑
His first hit was this 🤏🏾 close to being a HR too. Insane.
And just as close as making one of those doubles a triple and hitting for the cycle 🤯
Would it better better if it was a HR or if he had a triple so he could get a cycle?
@@AP-lf6qscycle I think but it’s close.
@@AP-lf6qs There have only been 18 four-homerun games in MLB history. Hitting for the cycle has been done 348. So the four-homerun game mark is more rare by an order of magnitude.
But we can also note that it would have erased one of his stolen bases if the ball had gone over the fence.
I know sheesh
I feel so fortuitous to watch a one of a kind player in making baseball history. Thanks to Shohei for bringing me back to baseball. LA Dodgers vs NY Yankees would be a fantastic World series this fall.
It won’t happen, of course media is dying for that matchup but Yankees will lose in one of the series.
@@timmyg831Lol
Amazing hitting performance! Oh yeah, he’s a pretty good pitcher too. 😮
next year he might pitch 7 shut out innings while doing something similar at the plate while stealing bases! you never know with him.
The biggest part of Baseball is power and speed to be great, rather it's a power pitcher that throws a 100 mph slider or a batter that hits homeruns and can run and steal bases, Ohtani can do both of that better than anyone, that's why he's the Goat 🐐
Last time someone was talking about the greates day in the history of baseball, was when Ohtani threw that shutout in the first game of the day, then hit two bombs in the second one. It's always Ohtani.
That was my all time best player performance in a game I have ever seen. This is my all time best offensive player performance I have ever seen. Both mind blowing. Thank you Shohei!
I remember Shohei with 8 RBIs and the next night getting 13 Ks
We knew he could pitch 100mph. Then we knew he could hit 40hrs+. Now we find out he can he can run. What else Shohei.
He can play outfield.
Next is to play a position. I am sure he would be a gold glover, too.
50 50 20(wins)?
he played RF in Japan😊
He's now doing the anchor spot on NBC Nightly News in Japanese and Americans automatically understand him. Totally Centrist and no bias too!
He was inches away from a triple and hitting for the cycle to go along w/ his historical day.
i was so pissed at this. just couldn’t celebrate because it was so close.
The cycle doesn’t really mean much lol
Would you rather hit four home runs, or hit for the cycle? You’re on crack if you pick the cycle
Would you rather hit two home runs and two doubles, or hit for the cycle? You’d better not pick the cycle
Nah bro thats overkill 😅
I mean his first double of the game could have been a homer in other parks
@@ifbfmto9338I mean, sure maybe Ohtani and the Dodgers might prefer he hit 4 HR/2 doubles/1 single and not 3 HR and a cycle, but the latter would be arguably an even more miraculous feat. Cycles happen about as frequently as no-hitters - adding one of those to the pile of Ohtani’s achievements in this game might have some people questioning if it was staged.
Everyone needs to thank every member of the Marlins staff. They gave Ohtani to make history and the fans an unforgettable moment.

Thank you 😄👍
The Bambino of the 21st century. Legend. History. Mr. Baseball.
Dude is out here playing My Career in MLB The Show😮
He makes everyone better around him. Makes the game better.
Humble dude. Great role model.
Word.
This was the greatest offensive performance in a single game ever. It has some competition, such as the game in may of 2012 where Josh Hamilton of the Rangers went 5-5 with 4 HR and 8 RBI and hit a double for 18 total bases.
However, that was a meaningless game for Josh and the Rangers in mid may. Ohtani was doing this in a game that clinched his team a playoff spot. He did this 10 RBI game with 2 steals and got to 51 steals and HR's for the season with it.
Given the pressure, and given the significance of the game to his team, this was the greatest single game performance .
Ohtani is the superman in baseball !! 😂 his career is like a real life movie!
This is absolutely insane⚾️🧢⚾️🧢😮
Best player on the planet, in human history.
I agree Ohtani is the Goat, an Ace pitcher with a career 3.01 ERA and 11.1 Ks (can win 15 games with a 2.33 ERA in a season) and also hit 50 HRs and have 50 stolen bases. Speed Power and an Ace pitcher, even Babe Ruth never did that.
in baseball or sports?
nope
Goat 🐐
Congrats to Ohtani going to MLB Postseason!
Congrats to MLB for having Ohtani in the postseason
That was their plan all along
LMAO, I thought they were in Dodgers Stadium, they're in miami and the crowd is going nuts XD
Bro its history, Skip Schumaker is an absolute gem of a man for pitching to Shohei
I remember that Giants game whole sections full of dodger fans in SF.
Baseball fans respect legendary baseball players and witnessing history. Besides, they want a homerun ball to sell too. haha
And one step away from the cycle too! Just unbelievable.
I'm convinced he's the greatest athlete in pro team sports. The other GOATS have contemporaries that can come close to them but there's nobody in baseball that can hit, run and pitch anywhere near his level.
Not Gretzky. Nobody in hockey has ever come anywhere near his records. One guy is getting close to his total goals for career but that's about it. I saw some guy post that if Gretzky had a batting average it would be .472
Othani might get there by the end of his career but right now 99 is still, by far the greatest team athlete of all time in terms of the gap between him and every other player in history.
@@doublestrokeroll those are accumulated stats. But there have been players that come close to his performances on a season to season basis. There is no mlb player that can do close to what Ohtani does. His closest peer as a hitter can't come close to his pitching and vice versa
Bo Jackson had his power, twice his speed, and better arm strenth. I have yet to see this guy throw anyone out. Lets see Ohtani moonlight for a weekend or two in the National Football League. After he's torn to Sushi bits, come back and tell us how hes the greatest athlete. He AINT NO BO baby!
@@MyBinaryBizyou have to be racist too? Pathetic.
@@MyBinaryBiz Bo never hit close to as many home runs. Not close in steals either. not close to his batting average. Ohtani is DH so yeah he's not throwing people out lol. But when he's not dh, he's an ace pitcher that can throw 100+mph while striking out 11k/9ip. Bo is a one of a kind athlete so no disrespect to him but Ohtanis accomplishments are far greater.
Usually this kind of over the top hyperbole with "best game ever" etc annoys me but what Shohei pulled off is legitimately insane.
It's one thing for Ohtani to have a 50/50 season. It's quite another if he manages to do it by hitting say 1 HR in a game to get to 50 HR's and perhaps a SB in another game to get to 50 SB.
Instead he went 6/6 with 3 HR and 2SB's and he also hit a double that came very close to being a HR. He nearly hit 4 homers, he also nearly hit for the cycle, he came close to getting a triple one play.
No player in baseball history has ever hit 3HR and gotten 2SB in one game before.
And he did it on the game that he became the first player in baseball history to reach 50/50
All of that is insane on its own but he also broke the Dodgers single game RBI record in the game with 10 RBI's!
And he also broke Shawn Green's all time Dodgers single season HR record yesterday with his 50th.
To call it a "record setting day" for him is a hilarious understatement.
He didn't just break records, he obliterated them in unbelievable fashion.
Oh yeah !51 & 51 is obliterating 42 & 46 or that reversed, whatever the hell it was by Soriano. Just call him Willie Babe Ohtani.
Those pundits and fans advocating for Lindor as MVP have gone silent.
Real life Samurai.
If Ohtani does this for another 5 years, he's clearly the GOAT. I can't put him there just yet ....
5 years pitching and hitting na man ur unfair. U want to get 50/50 every year for the next 5 years come one man be fair
If GOAT means most complete baseball player ever, which it does to me, hands down Ohtani is that.
Wrong. He’s not a position player
@@fabianavalos1386if he wants to, surely you don’t think with his speed, arm strength and baseball instincts, he could be a above average or really doesn’t surprise anyone, a gold glove outfielder?
All The way from Australia! You are no idiot Buster! Shohei is the most insane athlete ever in my humble opinion
Ohtani passed Matsui’s RBI record, 116 (2005, Yankees), today.
Now, another 2 Japanese legends are waiting for Shohei to reach them:
55HR (Sadaharu Oh, 1964, Yomiuri Giants)
56SB (Ichiro, 2001, Mariners)
The Yomiuri Giants aren’t a major league team, no offense
What do the Yomiuri Giants have anything to do with the MLB?
Both are within reach. If he keeps his foot on the pedal and stays locked in, even with only a few games left, he can do it. Crazy!
No offense to other leagues but MLB is elite. That's why he wanted to come here One can't count records from other leagues.
The Japanese media will eat that up. Good pointfs.
If you could have 26 Ohtanis on a team, they beat 26 version of any other player in history. He's a Unicorn Goat chimera. Perfect Baseball Player. I've never seen anything like him. I've been watching baseball since the '80s. G.O.A.T.
Yeah but, if you picked say, 10 Barry Bonds, and 16 of whoever you think the best pitcher in history is, they’d beat the 26 Shohei team handily
Virtually no position players also pitch at a high level, so even if Shohei was considerably worse, a 26 Shohei team would still be the best choice for that type of team
@@ifbfmto9338 exactly, you would need 2 players. Nobody would beat a team of Shoheis, just like a team of Michael Jordans would beat 12 versions of any other player. Magic might be 2nd. It's the best way to see who is the true G.O.A.T.
@@ifbfmto9338 I don't know. If it's Shohei Ohtani from 2022, he might beat anyone. He was 15-9 on the mound, but in 7 of his losses he gave up 2 earned runs or less. I'm not convinced Ohtani couldn't hold his own against Bonds.
@@yamamancha if they played an MLB season, Team Barry would quit, he'd never get Shohei out lol. If you picked a a great pitcher, Team Shohei would end the season with the 1st 0.00 ERA 🤣
Ya'll crazy if you think 26 Ohtanis vs 26 name your player ...Shohei would destroy, 162 and zero would be their record.
One more thing, if Lux doesn't score on a wild pitch just before one of shohei home runs, he would of had 11 RBI. Unreal...
The fact he almost got that triple and would have hit for the cycle 🔁? It’s crazy. It’s really insane
Ohtani knew he would get 50/50 eventually. You can bet on that.
Wish we can see more of Buster Oley on MLB, growing up watching his reporting was fun
Congratulations to...Josh Gibson...for being the first 50/50 player.
Too bad that can not be properly Proven it’s all Hear Say
Did he have 50 SBs? Great!
The greatest baseball player to ever play the game. Truly unbelievable what he is capable of.

He is an alien from other universe called NPB
He’s a 99 overall created player… he’s a cheat code!!
EA Sports is going to have to rename “The Show” to “The Sho”.
Growing up in Japan in my early years and seeing how good the Japanese were at baseball was amazing. They never had the power and strength like MLB players, so yes Ohtani is one of a kind. It’s great to see sports bring everyone together.
Crazy he will be talked about for decades
Baseball is the hardest sport in America, that is why there are so few that are able to reach the top top of baseball. Many just avoid the sport because it requires enormous skills
Respect that he limited his celebration for his 51st since it was off of a positional player
Sh😮hei 😊htani... congratulations to you, Sho 🎉❤ and good luck to you and the Dodgers for the rest of the 2024 MLB season ❤

ESPN still not letting the public know that they falsely reported Ippei (interpreter) report as truth. But then making bank on the back end with Ohtani’s greatness
True 😊
Great Swing.
Babe Ruth would have been impressed! The greatest performance in my 69 years for sure. Best player period!
And almost hit for the cycle at the same time...insane!
This year MVP and is not even close
His hits look effortless. Almost like he is just another day at practice.
he's starting a "make baseball great again" movement!
Ohtani the superstar, Ohtani the Samurai, Ohtani the *Super Saiyan!*
50/50 club. How can it be a club when it’s only ONE man???? Just amazing.
Babe Ruth has always remained the greatest player for me. Arguments could be made for others, sure, but the Babe was still #1 in my gut. Sho is seriously making me question this. If he wins a World Series where he pitches and hits, then there is no question.
I was talking about that with my kid, like football, Messi is better the Maradona.
Sho Is better than Babe.
The biggest part of Baseball is power and speed to be great, rather it's a power pitcher that throws a 100 mph slider or a batter that hits homeruns and can run and steal bases, Ohtani can do both of that better than anyone, that's why he's the Goat 🐐
Forget all the little records, categories he put in place .. the one that impresses me the most is he hit a DODGERS franchise record in home runs .. and in his first season. Oh and his bread and butter isn't really considered being a "hitter". Crazy. The lengthy history of the Dodgers club is storied way before he was even born but he just gets signed and takes the HR record with ease.
He didn't just hit a home run dude smoked all 3 balls holy cow this guy is another planet plan and simple truly the best in the game not even close
“When he’s healthy,” when talking about his pitching status. I don’t think we really stop to think what he just said. If you take a moment to ponder on that statement, it just makes Ohtani that much more unbelievable. How else can you describe him not pitching when he’s clearly a superhuman? I think they should just say he decided not to pitch this year to be spend more time with his dog. 😂 incredible
Plus he hit for the cycle.
GOAT
52/52 as of yesterday. He's now approaching 55/55, extra step for final 60/60??😱
He is from another Universe.
Japan
GOAT 🐐
#17 Marlin Infielder Vidal Brujan throwing simple batting practice pitches there at the end
Babe ruth: 714 HR; .342 AVG; 94-46 over 5 years as a pitcher with 2.28 ERA and 107 complete games. Shohei had the best day ever and set a record that will never be beat. The greatest of his era, but IMO not YET the GOAT
Great points.
Babe Ruth didn’t play against the best players in the world. he played only against white people. This is not to take anything away from babe Ruth just making a point.
Everyone is forgetting. He missed adding a cycle to that day by about 2 strides. Then went 3 for 4 the next day with maybe the craziest bomb he’s hit this yr-it was at his shoulders and another SB. Then the next day he was 1 for 2 with 2 BB’s and another stolen base. Then today(Sunday) he went 4-5 with 2 more SB’s a bomb in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game and set up Mookie to walk it off with a bomb.
I think he’s 14 for his last 16 with 5 bombs 4SB’s 15RBI. His obp the last 17 games is over .500. It’s too bad our staff is once again in shambles. But we’ve had some decent progress from Walker. Gonsolin will be back. And JFlahr and Yoshi are a great top 2. We’ll see. Just glad Sho will get some post season experience, and who knows? Maybe the offense just goes ahead and averages 10 a game in the post season. They might have to.
He's on an absolute tear, and clearly the most complete player we've ever witnessed, but he still needs a lot more numbers to even start having 'the greatest' discussion.
Also, Willie Mays > Babe Ruth.
60-60 is insane just to even think about.....
他のスポーツのスターからも、注目されてるんだね

This is TRUE futanari at its finest.
i beg to differ... against the Royals in '22, He threw 8 scoreless innings with 13K's... went 3-3, 2HR's, 8RBI's... That might be a better day in MLB history imo.
🐐🐐🐐🐐
He also broke the record yesterday for most RBI in a single season by a Japanese player.
Already a hall of famer and hes no where close to done.
Half a shohei is still mvp
The best day was when Ted Williams could have sat out the last doubleheader of the year and technically have hit .400. But he played anyways, hit 6 of 8, and became the last man to hit above .400 with .406. Yesterday was the second best day.
Shohei definitely the best player of this generation. I have to disagree with the comment from Olney about the greatest record in sports. To me, 56 game hitting streak will always be the greatest record. Call it slight bias as a Yankee fan. In the current game of 5 strong from a starter, an opener, and then every reliever throwing 99+ with filthy movement, I do not see another player getting close to that 56 game hitting streak. The sports media starts getting antsy when a player gets to 20-25, and those aren't even halfway there. All that said, keep up the majestic career, Shohei Ohtani!
At 01:40 to around 01:51 watch #17 on the mound going through his windup. Is it just me, or is he serving up gopher balls? Thats how you pitch during batting practice.
He went 6 for 6. Unreal.
We’ve been able to watch Brady, Bron, Steph, Tiger, Pat and now Shohei. We are spoiled
U forgot Federer, Nadal, joker, Serena Williams, Messi ,Ronaldo, bolt. We are definitely spoilt.
Performances like that, on top of the record-breaking contract, will inspire the next generation of baseball players & attract top athletic talent to the sport, away from football & basketball.
Every once in a while, an athlete comes along that doesn’t just have talent, isn’t just likable, but also has that “magic”.. I think all-time rankings come after the completion of a career - gotta respect the players who did it year in and year out for a decade+.. but he’s all-time *special* already.. almost like a fictional character.. if you didn’t see it with your own eyes, you might not believe it.. he’s got the whole sport on his shoulders..
Subarashi Ohtani sama. Arigato.
the 700 million contract was a steal for the Dodger.
"Greatest feat in baseball history."

When the other team lets u get that stat is crazy.
if you ask the mets fans they say lindor is the greatest of all time because he is having the greatest season ever lol
How did the 3rd baseman not tag him out on that replay?
Hell, go for 60 60
As much as I love Ohtani, to say that the day was the greatest day in history of sports is a little exaggerating. It's not even the best day in baseball but one of the best days in baseball.
What is your best day in baseball in your opinion.
By far
It’s official Shohei is the Michael Jordan of baseball!
