The high country doesn’t have a panoramic sunroof and less power. The $5000 difference is right there, not to mention all the issues a Chevy has with the 10 speed tranny they use and the electrical issues with all the new technology. Both are beautiful trucks but Toyota s reliability is second to none. Mpg on the comparison of the trucks is a factor as well. You may pay a little more for the capstone but may get it back in 5 years. I’m capstone all the way.
For looks and overall appearance its the chev. I wish the capstone had the front end of the Sequoia. Not a fan of that white interior as it w get dirty fast. Would rather get better mpg too so no turbos.
I have owned a few vehicles and work on them most of my whole life. When my customers ask me which vehicles to buy I always tell them Toyotas build great vehicles but they make them for us shorter Asians lol. If you are American sized then an American brand fits way better. Hey its funny but it's true
Furthermore, I will choose the LONGEVITY of the Toyota over American any day. I have over a million miles on Toyotas with no real major issues with not much more than regular periodic maintenance. Toyota also includes regular maintenance for the first two years, has better MPG. I drove every truck out there and none could pull me away from the Toyota.
Toyota Tundra 100%. The reliability of Toyota is legendary and I like the styling of it better. The better power and hybrid system also make better than the Chevrolet.
I'd go with the High Country, but with the 3.0 Duramax(new LZO). I still haven't warmed up to the Toyota's styling, plus there are a few misses that are must-haves with me, such as 4WD Auto(more useful than it seems). Plus the Chevy will age far more gracefully. Oh, and I'm sure there will be those that say reliability, but the Chevy has far less complexity and will likely be equal or more reliability over the longterm. No more "million mile Tundras"... The Tundra's cab also lost critical space over the outgoing model. You shouldn't ever complain about space in a modern full size truck.
@@hellkitty1014 it was in because as I was driving my engine light came on and it was speed limited to 50mph. There is a shortage of diesel mechanics to the number of trucks in line at multiple dealerships. Turned out to be a faulty glow plug. Oh and BTW, no loaners as they sold them all. If I had a gas engine would have been serviced in a day or 2.
I have only seen a few of these new Tundras so far but i see many 2nd gen like mine. I am hugely skeptical the turbo 6 will last the long haul and gm has serious problems with AFM...I assume this truck has that. I also know gm cheaps out on their electrical. I really think both trucks don't win any beauty pageants but Iif I had to choose, i would take the Toyota but just barely.
The "serious" AFM/DFM problems are overplayed. The failure rate is below 3% in 5 years/120K miles which is the designed lifetime of the vehicle and below the threshold.
The interior on the Toyota is a big turn off for me, the truck itself isn't that bad but the interior would definitely be a no sale. And I have to say I didn't even pay $82,000 for my house there's no way I'd pay that for a truck.
Both nice and really we have some very nice formidable trucks from all the manufacturers. I have to say it the rear area of the Tundra seems like lazy engineering. 15+ years and you still have that huge hump on floor and then you take away all that storage by putting the battery pack down there ? Ohh and no KW plug in like the Ford ? Just saying these should have been done for the amount of time the old one was around.

The Chevy immediately appears more luxurious than the Tundra.
I wouldn't buy either of these 2 trucks. More electrical problems to come ahead. I enjoy your videos as always!
I'm liking the look of the Silverado more.
Chevy looks nice they should have put bow tie in the middle of grill. But I like Gm style better
The High Country for me

Wow the Tundra's payload is just bad.
Its not that far off from the Chevy and the Tundra tows a hell of a lot more.
Chevy always never was a toyota fan
High country..ALL DAY…!🎉
Toyota Tundra 100%.
I have the diesel in my 2020 high country. It’s great unless it’s in the shop waitin weeks in line due to shortage of mechanics
@@Basspa Is it in the shop for routine maintenance? I've heard some guys say they have issues, but then some say it is flawless.
@@Basspa got it. Geez I hope GM isn't using Bosch plugs. Those were a nightmare back in the day on my old 5.9 Cummins.
I would get the Highcountry
The only thing I dislike about the tundra is the wheels. That said I'd prefer the Toyota.
I like Toyota Tundra Capstone. 👍🏽
Chevrolet, for what ever reason, continues to stick the big, ugly bronze bow tie on the front of their vehicles. Just make it chrome outline.
Love the Steve fit test.
I would go for the tundra , even though l still hate the front end on the tundra , they could have done better .
The interior on the Toyota is a big turn off for me, the truck itself isn't that bad but the interior would definitely be a no sale. And I have to say I didn't even pay $82,000 for my house there's no way I'd pay that for a truck.
Toyota missed it with the v6/v6 hybrid as the only powerplant. The styling is questionable. Has a cheap feeling when sitting inside.
Muito bom o vídeo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷...
The old Tundra had a better back seat
I'd definitely take the High Country over the Capstone personally. GM knocked it out of the park when they redesigned the interior of the Silverado.
Chevy Silverado allday
Chevy looks way nicer in and out, tundra looks like a box with a flat front end, just something odd about it,but i,m sure its a very good truck
You lost weight looking good ,great review as usual 😊
Toyota's mirrors look like they came off of a 2500, absolutely massive.
Those are the optional tow mirrors. The standard mirrors definitely look better.
@@paulf9653 Ahh that’s why. Thank you for letting me know
