      @@mcronrnthe reporter guy Mike etc did a short interview of Alireza after the game and mentioned that incident and asking Alireza if he were possibly angry at Abasov since it was known he was the one that had complained Alireza replied Abasov was right in what he did but that Alireza felt Fide itself was at fault

    Alireza did a short interview after the game he said he felt Abasov did the correct thing that if the noise was an issue he did feel Fide should’ve taken precautions before the tournament started to address the condition of the floor where the players would be competing so he actually expressed no animosity toward Abasov himself but rather toward the organizers themselves instead

      Every game he's had in the candidates except the Vidit and Caruana ones was good. If he accepted to draw instead of forcing wins with losing positions every game, he would be 5.5, two losses, two wins, seven draws...

      Alireza deserves losing. He never paid Ding his due for winning the world championship, and in the meantime, Alireza can't even get into the world championship. Cocky Persian mentality working against himself.

    In the picture at 2:43 if you look at the two advanced pawns in d4 (white) and c5 (black) you can see them having slightly different shapes. The white pawn is more rounded down at the bottom while the black pawn is noticeably more angular

    At 10:10: I saw the idea of e4, trying to trap the Queen. However, I thought that the Queen can get out. Qg5, Be3, Qh4 (here the Queen can only be attacked by g3, or there is something that I do not see)=> g3, Qh3, Bg2, Qh4 (offer queen trade, repetition via Bf3). If White now makes 1 non-forcing move, play g5 and the Queen can flee back to f7. I also do not see a win sequence on White's Queen side, since e5 now blocks the white Bishop.

    Alireza is Vini.Jr of chess. He is one of the best in his generation. He always complains about everyone criticizing him. Fighting with the referee. But when he is in the mode, he is capable of making wonders.

      When was that always complaining coming from? The first time was Magnus if you watched the match, Magnus was cursing because of the mistake he did in middle of game.
      On recent incident, I don’t blame him! Imagine in middle of heat someone comes and lecture you like a school principal that you shouldn’t wear this shoe again tomorrow! We weren’t there so we don’t know how they approached Alireza even!

    Nijat's major error was moving his knight twice in the opening. He developed it and then moved it back to the back rank, instead of developing other pieces.

    If you put the bishop on e6 instead of f5 at 12:35, can't you block the check with the white bishop and lose just the knight?

    Yeah, Alireza is truly a great player against the weak ones. Only made his way to the 2800 playing a weak tournament and now everyone think he is the final boss. His results prove the contrary.

    The tournament has 14 rounds, so getting 7.5 means you basically need to have everyone on 6.5, 7 or 7.5 to even go to tiebreaks. And with Nijat so low, it is clear that Alireza cannot make it.

    @5:32 I didnt figure it out, but you need to accept low rated players can figure out tough positions using puzzle solving logic. your always in disbelief that people figure out the pause the vid moments because you think overall skill level correlates directly to puzzle solving ability

      People talking as if Alireza was a 2500 now lmao.
      He just isn't doing as great in candidates tournament from what we've seen so far. My personal theory is that it probably has to do with the amount of preparation that goes into a candidate tournament to win compared to any other other tournaments.

    If Alireza just took what came to him each game instead of trying to force wins in drawn positions against equally strong players, he’d be in the top 3 right now. We can clearly see that he belongs in that upper echelon of players, but he willingly makes his position worse by trying to force progress, and has repeatedly been punished for it this tournament.
