Very interesting that Gukesh started the tournament ranked 16 and live ranking is now 16. Meanwhile Alireza started at 6 and is now 16. It shows that qualifying on merit rather than a technicality really sets you up for success.
I calculated the probability of each player winning : Gukesh : 5/9 (56%) Hikaru : 2/9 (22%) Fabi : 1/9 (11%) Nepo : 1/9 (11%) That is assuming the following : 1: both game have a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 chance of being drawn or won by player 1 or won by player 2. 2: In a tie break, each player has 1/2 chance to win against the other. Interesting to note that the pairings matter : Hikaru is twice as likely to win as Fabi and Nepo even though they have the same score.
This was a very memorable game, especially that end sequence, pretty unique. Ofcourse Alireza performed poorly in this tournament, but he showed his talent in his two games versus Gukesh. At the time, it didn't really stand out much but now that Gukesh has won the world championship you can say Alireza was the one who gave him the toughest time and his only defeat. May be we will see a rivalry developing between the two.
Yeah. A "Hello everyone" at 4 am or so in the morning after being awake the whole night to watch the games can be less energetic than one done when fresh :)
19:10 position gave me scare of the lifetime being an Indian. Thank god that Gukesh sniffed that move in advance. And yes had Gukesh fallen for that trick, which wasnt completely impossible given the low time on clock, it would have been a scar to bear forever. Even for Indian fans. Thank you Agadmamtor for nice analysis. Kudos.
Antonio rules, have been watching for years, have seen others, just not near as good. I like his style, not long-winded but precise and always informative and insightful.
I've a very solid prediction on Nakamura vs Gukesh. Nakamura is white, Gukesh is black. High chances of winning belongs to Naka. Gukesh can seriously hold for a draw, or even beat Naka if Naka pushes too hard for a win (This thing is most probably, as when Naka pushes too hard for a win he loses many times) But, I got a thing which is most likely to happen. Hikaru is going to play some weird lines so that Gukesh starts taking his time. Nakamura is going to blitz out his moves. Gukesh can lose because he is tired due to his game against Firouzja that lasted for almost 6 hours. Hikaru on the other hand made a quick draw and go to his room to prepare. Hikaru has the upper hand here. Also, it is worth noting that when Hikaru pushes too hard for a win, he wins 90% of the time.
After watching several videos I can clearly state that Gukesh is just destroying everyone! Like wow!! Passing Ding and now has a chance to take number 5 and even 4th with this spree!

Maybe Rd6, and this looks very good for black.
Doesn't Rb5 ends in pawn captures b5? 16:30 minutes?
When is the match against ding?
Mostly November.
14:50 why can't black knight go to h5?
I called it before the tourney started that Gukesh would be the dark horse!
Great Commentary, as always!
tomorrow is gonna be so insane
Is there a mobile app you can watch the match, not as a video.!
Lichess
Just Google ' Fide chess candidate 2024 ' and watch their game without any video or any commentary..
I calculated the probability of each player winning :
Gukesh : 5/9 (56%) Hikaru : 2/9 (22%) Fabi : 1/9 (11%) Nepo : 1/9 (11%)
That is assuming the following :
1: both game have a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 chance of being drawn or won by player 1 or won by player 2.
At 16:49 how can rook attack the knight at b5 isn't you can just capture the rook with pawn?
I think Antonioz energy has dropperd while greeting. Hello Everyone is not as energetic as it was used to be once.
I mean he just have a child and I bet it has some influence.
@@juniorputrafajar872 probably and he's uploading multiple videos in a day this may also have some impact.
Yeah. A "Hello everyone" at 4 am or so in the morning after being awake the whole night to watch the games can be less energetic than one done when fresh :)
What about the tiebreaker?
Best comment section in youtube is a chess game. All technical, some slapstick and good wishes. Agadmator commmentery ❤❤
Man the final round
You're quick. Watched it live
So we have got semifinals and finals tomorrow
You're a great content creater in chess 🎉
Lets hope everyone draws the game , so that Gukesh can win the tournament.
Sweet revenge after the most unlucky loss against Ali in the first half
7:57 It is interesting a French Player refusing a French Move!!
Who is gukesh fighting on round 14???
Prime time in Toronto on Sunday. Who isn’t excited.
Well fought to both players
I've a very solid prediction on Nakamura vs Gukesh.
Nakamura is white, Gukesh is black. High chances of winning belongs to Naka. Gukesh can seriously hold for a draw, or even beat Naka if Naka pushes too hard for a win (This thing is most probably, as when Naka pushes too hard for a win he loses many times)
But, I got a thing which is most likely to happen.
Also, it is worth noting that when Hikaru pushes too hard for a win, he wins 90% of the time.
after rook b5, why not pawn takes b5 in the endgame?
Agadmator is the best at game summaries/analyses.
Nice work
After watching several videos I can clearly state that Gukesh is just destroying everyone! Like wow!! Passing Ding and now has a chance to take number 5 and even 4th with this spree!
At this point, all four people need to win.
nice photo ? - looks like Alireza has punched himself in the face !
