I so enjoy your videos, they are very informative and at the same time humorous. I am 72 yrs old with health problems but still manage to get into the woods and enjoy. short hikes but still in there. keep up the good works and encouragements.

Poor Shug...roughing it! Hope your shoulder heals quickly. I’ve learned a lot watching you. I’ve taught many of my hammock converts about the Shuginator. I always carry my hammock and survival gear on medical disaster deployments worldwide. All I need is a couple anchors (whether trees, trucks, wreckage...life is good if you can get a good nights sleep). I’m about to retire onto a sailboat, but my backpack and hammocks will be coming with me. Be well my friend and many thanks from the hammocking community for your lifetime contributions. Love ya brother.
It is good to see you back on the trail. When Runner and I where up in the BWCA. When the wind was blowing through the pines. We could've swore they where saying Shug,Shug,Shug.
Take care of that shoulder! I’ve had 3 shoulder surgeries now, hoping there will be no more! Thanks for the shout out, glad you enjoyed the episode Gresh and I guest hosted, that was a lot of fun! Congrats on your short film, good stuff!
Sometimes those are the best trips! Been doing quite a few of those with my kids, as they're easy and still get you "away" for a bit. Thanks again for the kind words, coming from you, that means a lot!
Shug ...your gift to the world is immeasurable .there are MANY people who need to get out in the woods as much as you do but for whatever reason or reasons ...they can't get out there . but in a sense they still can get out there because you do . thank you so much !
Great to see you our again. You are a special person and I appreciate you taking the moment to thank those who voted for the film. 8th out of 400 is like top 2 percent so you all should be proud! Great Job. Thanks for sharing Shug, master of many things. We enjoy spending the time with you.
I loved the pace of this trip and video...I didn't expect to watch it all, but it was so peaceful, easy going, and still informative. Thx for sharing. Love your stuff. Cheers!
Thank you, Meester Shooog, for letting us tag along on this here lollygag of yours. Most enjoyable! Yup, it's true, nobody understands why the heck anyone would want to go out in the woods alone on a cold, windy night. There's nothing better than swinging in a hammock while staring at the trees to wash away all of the cares and stresses of life. Oh, and really enjoyed the mandolin, especially "Wayfaring Stranger". Blessings.
I'm glad to see you back on the trail. Take care of your shoulder Shug!! Thank you again for doing these videos. You always inspire me to keep camping!!!
Thanks for showing the DH sling. I asked about it in one of your other vids. I'm always impressed at how quickly you reply to comments, and react to feedback and inquires. Thanks for all the work you do to make these videos. It's very much appreciated and enjoyed.
Another great video Shug. Thanks for having us along. I'm liking that wood burning stove design. Great news getting in the top ten. Till the next one, stay safe.
Thank you Shug for bring us along for your outing on the trail on a cold but sunny outing to a lovely part of the World, Also great insight into various kit you use and philosophy. Hope the shoulder goes from strength to strength. 👍
You continue to be the best watch on RUclips, Shug! Last year I was living in Florida which limited my cold weather camping, this year, transfer back to Ohio and rupture my Achilles...so I watch your videos and get my fix best I can. You're therapeutic my friend and very much appreciated. Happy holidays!!
It is great to see you out on an "early" dawdle. There is nothing like getting out there in an environment where the thoughts of "worldly chores" are no more. A simple life reminder.
Shug, Nice to see your doing well! I’m kind of shocked your out backpacking so soon but maybe that’s the best therapy! Great video as usual, take care and thanks for taking the time to put these together, look forward to the next one. Happy trails.
Hey Shug, like you say "when you have had 12 hours why go for 13?" This is why: A few years ago we went out for an overnighter. I debated because I was feeling tired, chilled and just not with it. We hiked out about 4 hours to a fantastic site and set up camp. I crashed out immediately after setting up my tent and sleeping gear. This was about 5PM. The next morning the guys tried to wake me but I was just comatose. They went on to the top of a nearby mountain and returned to find me still sacked out. They woke me up and I felt so good I was ready for the mountaintop trek. They laughed and advised I had missed the entire day. It was time to head out. I slept for almost 24 hours. The joke continues to this day that they all fear that someday they will need to carry me out!
@@shugemery The two best nights sleep I've ever had were on camp outs. Twelve hrs ea. The one, I think I was in the same exact position I was in when I laid down.
@@shugemery That means a lot Shug. Glad you have made good use of them and it warms my heart that you remember us. I still owe you a dinner and I hope you give me a chance to repay your kindness.
The Green Bean lives on! I hung my hammock in Father Hennepin state park last june. We beat the mosquitoes and nailed the walleye. I love Minnesota. Miss my Minnesota. Great video. I'm pro Dream Hammock. Have a gear sling myself. I need another one because I store it with a different hammock.
Ah a wonderful video of Shug playin' in the woods. Good on ya' Sean. Bet it felt pretty awesome after being cooped up and tied down for so long after your surgery. So glad you could finally get out and do what you love doing. 😊
After five years of day packing in the rocky local woods (Canadian Shield) I finally bought a hammock about a week ago. Wish I'd done it sooner. Your tutorials have been very helpful and I thank you. Tomorrow night I'll be attempting my first two nighter and plan to try a ridgeline. Supposed to have thunderbolts and lighting those two days. Can't wait.
You live in a grate area love your outings. You always put a smile on my face, Thanks for all the effort it takes to put out your videos. BE SAFE OUT THERE.
Shug, you have been a teacher, an entertainer, and honestly an all around inadvertent life coach. You have introduced me and certainly many others to a way of thinking and capturing life that inspires drinking from the very cup of God's creation. You sir are a treasure. Thank you. Never stop breathing life into our dreams...and living yours. God bless you.
Thanks for bringing us along again! My girlfriend and I always look forward to your vids. “ the king of snooze” appreciates your 12 hour sleep! Haha. Glad you’re healing up quickly and getting out again. 🤙
