Hey man I love how your channel and business has developed. Been watching a while and It’s nice to see someone not using click bait titles, constant techno and dub step music, and fancy camera work. I like a channel about a REAL business owner growing a REAL business. No smoke and mirrors and I like that!
I have been spraying lawns for 17 years now and still run the same beans that are at least 15 years older then me. The FMC set up has never let me down on any of our 4 rigs. You can always tell if someone is serious about spraying lawns by there pumps.
I just had to refer back to this video to figure out valve selection. I just picked up a rig like your 400 gallon setup. Didn’t get no manual with it. Wasn’t exactly sure which way to set the valves to select which tank to pull out of.
I just want to say thanks for making videos of how to start this landscape business cause I just started my own business and I found this to be really helpful.
I was trying to see what size truck you had, if you had an 8 foot box or the shorter one. Graham only says "long wheelbase truck", makes no mention of bed size. Any help on that? Thanks.
Start up business here and Excellent presentation 👍 what do you do for extra water storage and chemical storage? Trailer? Or does 300 Gal get you for the day?
J b & D Company makes great hand made heavy duty spraying systems for lawn care. Multiple options available including custom setups. Located in Ontario, Canada and highly recommend!
that's highly variable depends on the product you're using, concentration it's mixed at and size of properties serviced...basically look up the label for the product, see what it says for coverage then average the size of properties in your area to get an estimate...example 2, 4 D at 4oz per 3 gal gets you 1 acre per 24 gallons finished solution
Really enjoy your videos. I’m new w 32 accounts. I’m interested in a small setup sprayer system. All of my accounts are pretty small yards. Any suggestions for a tank system? Thank you.
Thanks for sharing . I love your set up .Im from South Florida and I paid $9000 for my 300 gallon split system. Like you, I also cut grass . Seems like you are growing by hiring a new guy. How do you get new clients?
Hey Jason, I have a quick question on what is the best backpack sprayer to apply the PGR on turf grass? I have some el cheapo sprayers from Wally World but, they arent consistent with delivery application and this type of liquid treatment needs to be. What do you use or is your best pick for my start to next years new routine I talked about down here in Auburn? Thanks Jason.
Some guys around here use graham spray rigs and the only complaint i have is the mechanical agitation. Every person i have talked to has had the seal leak at some point.
Jason, thanks for the update on equipment. You didn't mention the permagreens?? Are they still a piece of equipment that you use? Congrats on the second truck as well. Trying to break into the application part of the biz here in texas myself. Ive been looking at skids, but was wondering if I would be better off getting a permagreen. Seems they take up a LOT less space, and would be more efficient. Also, for a guy who does lawn care, I use a trailer for all my lawn care gear. The permagreen could be loaded and unloaded as needed, instead of mowers, or in conjuction WITH mowers. The skid seems like it would just take up space a lot of the time ON the truck when not being used or needed. That brings in problems with sun damage, weathering, etc. Any thoughts or assistance for me? Also, I am trying to figure out application costs and how to calculate/charge for the service. Can you help with this also? I assume the best way to charge would be by the square footage and per application. What I'm NOT sure of is how much to charge per K, because I really don't know how long it should take at each stop when using a skid, or when using a permagreen. Thanks in advance, and good luck this season!
+rbljackson good questions. I am now using a ground logic machine. The advantage of a tank sprayer is you can be very accurate when spraying liquid by hand. Also you can mix multiple products in the tank at the same time with good agitation to keep them mixed. For me, I like having a tank sprayer and a ride on machine. If I had to choose one or the other it would be a tank sprayer because it is versatile. Price by the square footage. For small yards around 2000 square feet I am pricing $15 per thousand. That rate decreases as The Yards get larger. I may go down to as low as $5 per thousand square feet for a property that is 30000 square feet or more
thanks so much for the info Jason. Ive been watching and listening to every vid you put out. Pricing structures definitely will vary from area to area, but I really appreciate you giving me some real data to work with. I got my CEU's done last week, so I'm all set if I can get the customer base and the equipment to spray this year as an add on service.
I would try to mow weekly at the height needed to keep from scalping the lawn when mowing. I typically mix multi products in the tank to accomplish several objectives at once.
12k. 15k is not the big problem the problem ws how to get calls costumers how much expensive Google ads or Facebook ads. If really works etc etc is not about the equipment is about traffic costumer ??? I'm guessing 🤔
You can’t even piece together a 100 gallon setup for any where near $500. That hose and real system alone is worth more than $500. Atleast know what you’re talking about before you criticize someone...

Thankyou for showing us your setup mate ! much appreciated

We used Ford F 350 trucks with 600 gallon tanks. They were a little small but we made them work.
how much payload my truck or which truck should i have a 1500 or 2500 a f150 or f 250
Is there a specific truck setup I need to carry a 300 gallon skid?
You'll need to look at the GVW rating on the truck. At least a 3/4 ton

Great video! Would you recommend spraying lawns with one of those backpack blower sprayers? Thanks
I just started watching your videos. Really great information. looking to start a part time mowing business soon.
+William White glad you found the videos helpful. Thanks for the comment
Do you prefer a skid sprayer or the stand-on/ride-on sprayers?….I thought you use to use a Z-Spray?
I use both. I mostly spray with a skid sprayer.
For a 1/4 lawn how many gallons does your set up use?
Are you familiar with R&K pump
No
'I personally don't like to dye my yard blue.' Hahaha, a man of principles..
I see some yards that get "smurfed" from time to time
How long will that tank last How any lawns can you spray before it’s empty

Nice video on the setup. This has helped.
Will those electric reels get damaged if left out during rain ? 🤔
No they hold up very well in the rain. Hannay Reels are tried tested and very reliable
what do you usually spray on centipede grass and st Augustine grass
+Kareem Gibson a lot of things. It depends on what I am trying to accomplish. Can you be more specific with your question
I have a centipede yard with a lot of henbit and clover what can I used to control it. I know three way is not a option
+Kareem Gibson atrazine
Thanks
Very nice rig

I buy from Graham Spray Equipment. The have a 200 gallon rig
@@lawncarelife thanks. I watched another video where I heard you say that name. I sent them a request. I’m in TN, maybe we’ll meet up someday.

+Mixin Green most of my new customers come from finding my website online or referrals
Might have missed it. Why 300 and not another 400 tank?
Truck size have something to do with it?
Good luck
Yes, I didn't want to push the weight limit on the truck with a 400 gallon tank

Maybe try the ones they sell at Home Depot like the solo or chapin
Does it have Mechanical or Jet agitation?
TRIBOMAN1 it has mechanical on the large side and Jet agitation on the small side

How many GPM?
How often do you cut a yard? what height do you cut the grass? And would you consider a multi purpose spray?
I would try to mow weekly at the height needed to keep from scalping the lawn when mowing. I typically mix multi products in the tank to accomplish several objectives at once.
Love Graham...
Me too. Nice people and good spray tanks

Looks like business in 2018 is gonna go good . You must have 300 accounts
+Don Abraham I have around 340. Hoping to get to 500 by the end of the year
Lawn Care Life yea that sure beats messing with 300 mowing accounts
what a waste of money. could build something similar for under 500
No you can't
