Oh my god, this cover has me in tears. It’s absolutely and breathtakingly beautiful and so bittersweet and I can’t actually come up with the words to do it any kind of justice. With all sincerity, thanks for all the hard work you put in learning all these instruments to bring this gift into the world m.
Aww thank you!! It brings me so much joy to play and fully feel all the emotions that go into the music, and I'm so glad that I can share that with other people. It means so much to me to hear from people that enjoy my work, so thank you!
Each instrument -- the introspective guitar, the somber viola, the anguished violin, and the bright/hopeful erhu -- offers something unique and profound. Together, they paint the picture of Castti's journey from fractured moments to renewed (and reclaimed) purpose. 10/10 axe attacks.
Right?! I think I knew this from somewhere else, but it's my first time. I'm kinda sad I didn't get a viola sooner, because it's such a nice sound! This one kinda serendipitously showed up. 😅
Excellent job on this one! I think this song originally struck me as my favourite of the character themes, and this version definitely did it justice, if not completely outdoing it!
Awww, thanks Luke! They were two instruments I wouldn't have been able to put together until last week, but I definitely want to use them again because they pair so well!
Thanks Wurtzel! I try my best to do them justice. I love the original, but I also wish they used strings for the emotional range in tone and feel. But then again I usually wish that, which is why I play this darn thing.
@@SheaViolin I saw your twitter account, I hope that YT works better now for you. You make beautiful music and I think a lot more people would enjoy what you have to offer if they could hear about it. Anyway, I hope you continue to do music, what you're doing is awesome !
I have a persona cover in the works actually! I loved Persona 5. Such a fantastic game! When I first got into the video game music cover community, someone recommended that I play it and I picked it up when p5 royal went on sale last year. As for youtube and visibility goes, I don't have much control, it seems. Sometimes my videos will get 100 views and sometimes 1000, depending on how many people clicked it, liked or shared it. Making more videos definitely didn't seem to affect things as views and watch hours steadily declined. And randomly last month, some of my older videos are getting shown around more with no input from me. All the advice is make better videos that people want to watch, which implies that my stuff isn't good enough or people don't want to watch it. Whichever it is, I can't monetize the channel until I figure out how to make something that people want.

I hope you'll continue making music but it is understandable if you stop/slow down. Just do whatever is better for you. ^^
Don't worry, I'll keep doing it! In one way or another. Music is incredibly important to me, and I can't abandon it without abandoning part of myself. If I'm successful at it, I just get to do more of it!
Thank you! It's really hard sometimes to improve on these modern soundtracks because they are already so well done, covers are almost redundant. But I feel as though something I can add that a big studio can't always achieve is a human element and emotional performance. A lot of the tracks have performances that are very well done and perfectly performed and exactly on "the grid," but that saps a lot of what makes music human.
As a parent, her chapter 3 hit me soooooo hard right in the feels. I wanted the theme to reflect a little bit of that, and I'm so glad it helped make your day!
Thanks so much! It's been much harder learning to play than I thought it would be, but I'm getting there little by little. Next week is actually my two year anniversary of playing it for the very first time!
This really was an emotional ride, especially 0:46 worked out perfectly since I didn't even read the description. The melancholic parts with the strings really are very very beautiful. Thanks yet again, the content you produce really is an enjoyment!
Thank you so much! I like to think that the music stands alone as great without the story that goes with it, but like so many things they enhance each other with each others context. Thanks so much for coming back so often and leaving comments! I really appreciate it! ♥
I couldn't see the other half of your reply because for some reason it's not showing up, but I got a notification with half of it. Weird. Maybe yt blocked or deleted it.
Yeah, probably because I added an URL to my own webspace to a flac file of the piano recording I did, lesson learnt. I had the motivation to play the part at 1:46 which brought tears to my eyes, doesn't work as well on the piano honestly, strings are just the gold standard when it comes to melancholy for me. However, the second half was that I appreciate your work a lot, the effort and thought you put into it and your skill is quite awesome from my perspective as well. So it's all well deserved, really ❤
Ah that would explain it. Thanks for taking the time to re-type that! I know Nishiki wanted to use different instruments to differentiate the characters, but at least it gives me an opportunity to re-imagine them since they can all be super emotional on strings :) But I might be biased....
Yeah, RUclips being weird. No worries, quite honestly, I am glad that you answered again, I was really a bit confused at first whether the comment was deleted by RUclips or you since I didn't get any notification whatsoever and it's also not available in my comment history, that's really bad not to even inform the user from a UX point of view, but that's just me being a developer and RUclips being RUclips, I guess. Back to the topic: I must admit I didn't know the original so your version was the first one I listened to, I took the time to listen to the original version afterwards, and I liked how the instrumentation works out in both versions. The dark flute in the original gives me these solitary vibes - the scenery of a lonely girl sitting alone at a campfire near a forest and playing this tune on her flute in slight rain. But that's just my wild imagination. I think it's actually a nice touch to give each character its own instrument, guess I have a new game series I need to try out. Quite honestly? I wouldn't even call it bias and given by the amount of people admiring your work, you are doing something really well here :) Looking forward to hear more and I beg your pardon for this novel I wrote!
The worst was when I had to buy a left handed guitar and learn all the parts with both hands. There was absolutely no movie magic. Thanks! I really like this guitar too. It plays so nicely and sounds great!

I love the tone on this instrument so much. I have a couple other acoustic guitars, but none of them have the clarity, punch, and playability that this one does. Thanks so much!

Thanks CA! I'm not sure, to be honest. It does have a different timbre to it, more like a bassoon as compared to the others, so I think it could still be a different voice in my arrangements. I'll have to experiment with it and see what kind of textures I can get with all of my violin shaped objects. 😂
Casti is the light we seek on humanity's darkest hours
Definitely! Her theme is so poignant and beautiful
Q: How do you play Castii's theme on an Erhu?
A: with THESE HANDS!!!!
Hahaha 🤣Thanks Erik! Such a great game
Q: Can I take a break? My fingers hurt!
A: NO MERCY! ONLY PAIN!
I really love how this theme starts off so sad, but turns hopeful. It really encompasses Castti's character and her journey.
It really is a wonderful theme that brings back all the feelings from the story and character. I'm glad I was able to convey that in this!
