Great advice and I wish more artist knew about the strength of PR especially when an artist has big news like a project to release or a renaming of oneself. I notice a lot of folks on the internet claiming to do Pr, but like you said nothing is guaranteed, coverage wise. Learning about how Pr works can save you time and give you a heads up for when someone is faking the funk.

During the beginning stages of COVID I had the opportunity to join a PR agency. Doing PR for my bands over the years I decided to take the next step and see if I could help other bands and artists. What you say in this video is SPOT ON. Another important thing I'd like to ad is make sure you have what you need for the PR agent you want to work with ahead of time to really help get your single/album/video more coverage. That being press photos, a bio (of course the agent can help make one for you) and any other assets/features you might have been covered on. Keep up the great videos man!

I wrote for a mag and have been on the receiving end of bad pr. One epk had a brown background with black text because they wanted it to match the album colors, ow my eyes. Another agency would reply a week late after asking my interview schedule.
Pro tip: if their contact list is ridiculously high it's a spam list. a rep with a few dedicated contacts is worth more than one with 1k+ spam contacts.
