It's always a treat seeing and hearing from publicists from different fields.
A publicist can work with a variety of clients from different industries. Their scope of work vary greatly depending on the client's objectives, however, some of the main responsibilities include, reputation management, pitching and securing media placements, coordinating media interviews, entering clients to relevant awards, assembling press kits and materials, media training, branding and messaging, etc.

Question for all publicists: What kind of relationships do you have with Photographers? Do you hire photographers to photograph your clients? Do you push to get the photos in online and/or printed publications?

We have relationships with photographers and use them for events and client shoots. However, we don't push for photos to be used in media. We include photo and video options in our client's press kit/EPK that allow the media to use them for interviews and other mediums. With larger events, Getty Images Photographers and Associated Press Photographers are typically engaged because they are a media powerhouse.
