    Excellent video! I've seen most of the things you mentioned and agree with all of them 100%. I have a few more to add to your list.
    1) People who don't care about presenting their clothes nicely in photos. I saw one closet where all the clothes were horribly wrinkled. Every single listing. The seller just wrote in the description "Sorry about the wrinkles, they just came out of the box." Instead of taking the time to steam or iron them.
    2) I actually saw one listing where the seller wrote "I will leave it up to the buyer to wash the clothes." So I'm buying your laundry? Ewwww.
    3) Listings that give no description and say "see photos" but only give one or two photos.
    4) Sellers who seem to assume that buyers are willing to buy any old thing you post. I saw a listing for "my husband's old shorts he used to wear around the house." Only $9. Any takers?
    Of course every Posher has the right to run their closet as they see fit, but these ones stood out for me as examples of how not to run my own closet.
    Maybe some of the comments will give you enough content for a Part 2

    Agreed with all except declining offers. If someone sends me a $4 offer on an item worth 10x that, I'm declining and blocking. I'll give 1 counter to anyone in the 40-60% range, but if they come back with 1-2 dollars more than their first offer, I'm declining because I don't have time to play games. If that shuts off a potential sale, so be it. Lowballers tend to be the pickiest and most case-happy buyers of the whole lot.

  • @jessx306

    I typically never decline an offer, but I automatically hit decline the other day when I received an $8 offer for a $40 dress. I was feeling a certain way and NOT having it haha! But most of the time I counter or let the offer expire.

    Asking “Is this available?” Also, I list measurements on every item, but there is always someone who requests some bizarre measurement so I have to get the item out of inventory, remeasure, and update the listing. I have literally never had a sale when someone asks me to do additional work on the listing. Never. I sometimes think people look around Posh and randomly choose a listing to troll.

    • @s231966
      @s231966 3 года назад +5

      yessssssssssssssss... its like why the heck is it in my closet if it is not available. I mean poshmark will mark it sold if it is sold and if it is not for sale, it will be clearly marked as such. You are also right, so many times, I get requests for weird measurement and then poof nothing further after I spend 30 min pulling the item, measuring it, the putting everything back, or if the foam inside a $10 sneakers is memory foam. I just tell them in all honesty, I do not know what's inside the shoe. Thank you for adding this cringe worthy to the list.

    • @resellerappletree6286
      @resellerappletree6286 3 года назад +21

      I will say I am guilty for asking this question of " is this available". Simply because I've made purchases from accounts that people must have abandoned and sellers who forgot to take it down because it sold on other platforms. My age perhaps? Lol.

    • @fashioncat4806
      @fashioncat4806 2 года назад +11

      sorry, i dont agree with this. if something is sitting in someones closet for multiple YEARS, i'm going to ask if it's still available to see if they're actually active on poshmark. learned this the hard way when i purchased items i was really excited about only for the seller to never ship because they dont use posh anymore. that's a huge pain for me as a buyer that i would rather avoid. now, asking if it's available, the seller taking the time to respond yes and the seller not purchasing it, THAT is truly annoying lmao

    • @lorikins100
      @lorikins100 2 года назад +5

    There are so many other cringe worthy things that you could do a part two, but my biggest pet peeves are people who sell purses and bags without showing buyersthe volume of the purse or the backpack!
    When they throw it on the floor and they try to sell a bag or a purse? That’s flat on the ground, because that’s not how women actually buy purses and that’s not how purses are photographed even on the Internet when we are buying them.
    You could easily steal it with a couple T-shirts or a pair of jeans… Anything to provide volume for that Bag or purse or backpack to really show how much it can hold at least visually
    Also, when people photograph like 10 photos of the outside of the purse, but they will never show you the inside!
    Also, when people don’t really show you how there is a pocket for the zipper is actually functional and not decorative.
    I literally thought about buying a bunch of cheap stuff on Poshmark that I know I could sell three or four times more just by retaking the photos, the way that I take my photos of bags and purses on my Poshmark closet .
    Don’t even get me started on people who sells blue jeans and never list the inseam or the rise!
    And yes, my biggest pet peeve are people who are even selling stuff for a lot more than what Amazon is selling it for of all places
    When I shop on Poshmark, I literally look between eBay, Poshmark, and if I know the brand I tried to go find it on Amazon.
    Why because if I can buy it on Amazon cheaper and get it faster and not have to pay for shipping? why not and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve actually seen the same exact item on Amazon

    Personal opinion: I disagree with number 2. Serious buyers (in my experience) aren’t deterred by getting declined and typically come back with better offers. It's interesting, Common Tags says she declines when it's less than 50%. I generally decline when someone offers me 10 or 20% of the price, because I set my prices based on mid to low end sold comps. @@michellecd4722 I agree. I just don't want to counter someone who offers me $8 for a $100 item. In the beginning I would assume that in this circumstance the buyer made an error or typo, and meant $80 but when I countered at 90 I got a $10 offer so it was deliberate. So now I have a rule, I just decline when an offer is 10 or 20% off the set price. That person is not serious. If I lose a sale, or make a buyer or a RUclipsr cringe, that's okay because this is a side job and it's not worth my time to go back and forth on a dead end street. I agree the sharing and offers on Posh are a time waster. I don't do offers on ebay anymore - been selling on ebay since 1999. I do buy it now and immediate payment on most items, and an auction on items that are in high demand. xo

    OMG I agree with all of these! So good. Definitely annoying when people tag cheap mall brands as more expensive brands for exposure. I admit I will *occasionally* mention a different brand in my listing description if the item I'm selling is a very similar version of it. For example, when describing the fit of jeans I might say they fit like the Levi's ribcage skinny. But I wouldn't mark the brand as Levi's unless they actually are Levi's.
    In my opinion if someone just searches "levi ribcage skinny" they are searching for items that look and fit like those jeans and they might be open to a different brand that would be similar! But if they specifically want Levi's they can filter by the "Levi's" brand and it would filter it to only Levi jeans.

For example just today i saw something listed from lululemon that was 20$ over retail price, which that in itself isnt bad as i know some lulu stuff can inflate if it's retired or sold out or something but what this person was listing was still in stock on the lulu website. The comnent had straight up asked why their listing was $22 more than lulu website when it's still in stock.

    Straight from a picture on a seller’s post today: “I price your items with shipping cost considered & I often have little to no wiggle room on price. :) Discounted shipping only means the seller pays the difference.”

      I think most serious resellers probably do some research and know what the items value is on other platforms and even on Poshmark, so the lowball offers are a little (a lot) ridiculous. I don’t think you are risking anything since they weren’t a serious buyer anyways. Plus it made me laugh!

    Thank you for such an informative vlog! However, I must comment on the problems with low ball offers. I do take your advice on countering and have successfully made sales countering. But when I was new to PM I listed many items at my lowest acceptable price because after 15 years selling on eBay, I seldom sold to a buyer who submitted an offer. The problem I have is how much should I raise the price of an item to be able to discount? I think this discounting business is ridiculous because the bottom line is the only price that counts. Unfortunately, discounting is what the majority of Poshmark buyers are all about. I have been very successful explaining to buyers why I can’t discount, as you stated in your vlog about the quality of your items. Thanks for this tip! Every Posh seller should disclose the quality. So many on RUclips won’t buy on PM and ebay too because of gross undisclosed flaws. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sold items to buyers who had to return the same item to their sellers because they got the thing really cheap but full of flaws.

    • @HannahAlonzo
      @HannahAlonzo  3 года назад +4

      I always mark up my items 20-30% higher than I’m expecting to get for them. It makes the buyer feel like they’re getting a good deal and I still get the profit margin I want 😊

    I have had multiple shoppers purchase and cancel the purchase of one item in my closet multiple times within minutes of me listing it. That same item had someone comment on it that they thought my pricing decision was bad even though it was something not sold anywhere else. I took the listing down within a half hour of putting it up, it just seemed sketchy and too much of a hassle. I think there are forums for this brand with people who collect it and report on when a new item is listed.

    Here's a cringe-worthy story...I'm a seller on Posh too for 2 years. Most of my items are under $500 however I recently sold a Chloe bag NWT for $925 and of course as all the listings over $500 state, the item gets authenticated first then shipped to the buyer. All went well, it was great. I never buy luxury on Posh and I don't buy pre owned. I made one purchase on Fashionphile and one on Ebay, both NWT and "authenticated". So I decided two weeks ago to buy a Loewe handbag for $1050 on Posh. It states Free Authentication on the listing so I'll take the chance. The seller agreed to my offer and she said she will be sending the bag directly to me because she is a trusted seller. I just agreed but I must have been half asleep so I emailed Posh the next day to inquire and they responded saying the same thing. The seller has a "good track record" so it will go directly to me. Well, I'm not ok with that. Just because the seller has a good track record doesn't mean she wont try and pass off a fake this time. I honestly believe the bag is authentic. She uploaded the receipt immediately when I asked. She has a decent amount of sales and good ratings. Not as many sales over $500 that I would think would make her a trusted seller but who am I to say. I emailed Posh 5x and did not accept the bag only because I wanted in writing that they stand behind the bag if it should be deemed fake down the road. They took a week to respond and then just yesterday asked me for specific photos of the bag. I sent them and this morning their email stated that a "Loewe Expert" in their company evaluated the photos and they are standing behind this bag and it is authentic. What do you think? Posh is going to have many issues if they stop authenticating. I will never buy anything of value on there again. Sorry for writing a novel on your video. Great video by the way.

    This one is by the buyer: I sold a $140 jacket for a horrible price and I lost a ton on it [sold for$10... yes, it was a huge mistake, I know]. The buyer sent me an offer right after I listed it and I was not thinking and hit accept and confirmed that I accepted as well.. doh. After that, I thought the only decent thing to do is to stick to what I committed to and just move on. So I go and package the item and add my free gift and thank you card...etc. After 5 hours, I give it to a family member to drop off at the post office on their way out. Then.... I get a message from the buyer who is a seller herself telling me to cancel the order ... WHAT???????????? I was livid.. Needless to say, that was not a good sale for me.

    I am pretty new to Posh Mark, but I have noticed that people add one low price item to a bundle then ask for massive discounts and shipping offers. I mean like one low price item free shipping????? Really? The seller makes zero money, but I have seen this behavior all the time. Is this normal for Posher's or is it just me that sees this as wrong and kinda rude? Also I sell a lot of children's clothing, so the margins are slim and the people are cheap it's almost criminal. 😅 I might have to just stick to my shopify from now on, if this is a regular thing on Posh.
