- Here's our story! How a confused Canadian ran into a traveling Brit, flew 4,714m across an ocean for someone she barely knew, and everything all the things that have happened since.
Danny is from Manchester, England, and I'm from Toronto, Canada (now living in Houston, Texas). We've been in a long-distance relationship for 1.5 years now, and have around 1 year left to go before we can be together. It seriously sucks, but it'll all be worth it. You two are SO much like my daughter and future SIL. We are in Indiana, he in Leicester. He comes here about every 6 weeks for 2 week trips (expensive yes!) but do to this virus he hasnt been back for 10 weeks. He is chomping at the bit to return!!! They play games together online, use Whatsapp constantly and make the most of their time together when he does come here. My daughter went there last summer for 2 weeks and had a BLAST!! LDR’s can be difficult but if you keep communicating and use the time you are physically together wisely and make those memories, those 2 1/2 years will fly by 🥰 One thing I thought was cool are this pair of lamps you can get. They are color changing, he has one and you have the other, and when you’re thinking of one another, you can touch and turn the lamp on and it lights up the other one ❤️❤️ We are 5 hours time difference, so he is always awake long before my daughter. If they had these lamps, he could send her warm wishes in the morning before she even wakes. It’s a little “cheeky” (British term lol) but still sweet nonetheless.
I LOVE that! I didn't know that such a thing existed! Awww, my heart :) I'm going to look into those, thanks! Me and your daughter sound like we're in the exact same position, truly! Also, we haven't played games online yet, but I like that idea too and might take that suggestion. If nothing else, this covid thing will make people understand long-distance relationships better, because some people are now forced into it. My bf's friends sometimes have a hard time understanding how he can do it, but now that they have to do it with their gf's they see that you just do it and make the best of it. (I love the British term "cheeky" as well!)

We are so lucky now that we have FaceTime- live video time so you may not feel as apart as you are miles. It’s really cool that you feel so close! I met a guy on line in July and I still haven’t met him yet you seen a live picture yet. I’m not sure if I’m making a mistake but - I’m happy for you two!
You definitely can see the glow in your face and the happiness in your eyes. Always appreciate the time you spend with each other and never ever go with out saying I love you to each other.

Me and my guy are in a LDR too! I’m in NC and he’s in Colchester (part of Essex). We have been together 6 months. I was supposed to go over the beginning of last month, but coronavirus kinda bumped that. We stay on video chat, nearly constantly, and I completely get talking about all the strange and cringey things. In these past six months I have gotten to know his mother, step mother, father, sister, and most of his family really period I highly suggest keep those avenues wide open as much as possible period and to close the gap when you are not able to go and see him, send little gift and write long messages just letting him know how much you care period I do that often and my guy absolutely loves it!! There’s more things to say but not in a comment on RUclips!! 🤪
We're the same! I should be there now for 3 weeks, but obviously can't :( It's hard not knowing when we'll get to see each other next. I love the idea of sending things! I have a few times, and it's always fun to wait and see the reaction! What kind of things have you sent in the past? The whole coronavirus thing has actually made it easier for us to chat because we're not working so the time difference doesn't conflict as much. So we have more time to "hang out" almost like in real life. We've been doing workouts together, watching shows, cooking, that kind of stuff, and it helps

I could never handle a long distance relationship apart from being costly if it involves taking plane trips. That's an issue because I hate to fly.

Nope, FaceTime is free. You both need to have an iPhone, or iPad. Whatsapp video calls can work whether you have Apple or Android, since it is just an app
