I remember singing “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” as a kid and no one gave a shit because it was two country dudes. Me thinks there is a double standard
i’m honestly so tired of the “disney girl gone bad” talk bc like. did they really go bad? or did they just grow up? expecting someone to be child-friendly all their life after their family-friendly career ends is absolutely ridiculous and exhausting for the person you’re expecting it from.
The amount of TikTok's I saw about parents bringing their CHILDREN to the American leg is CRAZY Not to be that person but here in Europe people don't really bring children to regular concerts in general
i personally believe that if you're going to censor your kid from the world then you have to fully censor them, you can't let your kids find her music and then get mad when the concerts are inappropriate
I’ve been a fan of her since ever since she released Singular Act 1 & all I can say that I am so happy to finally have seen her blow up, grow, and finally get the recognition she deserves
the funny thing is I grew up with Eminem's music and old r&b music and I TURNED OUT FINE. Pretending sex doesn't exist does nothing but hurt kids growing up. CONSENSUAL SEX is normal and applying that it's not is annoying (in general not when it comes to kids) If anything I made just makes sense. Also, some audio things, I would hold the mic further away from your mouth it will reduce the amount of extra noise you get if that makes sense!
Agreed tbh it’s mostly ppl being petrified of young girls thinking wanting sex as an adult is a totally fine and normal thing , kids also honestly don’t know what the hell is going on regarding this stuff lol
i love this! have you ever thought of doing a deep dive of both olivia and sabrina in one video? not in a competitive or comparative way, but in a way that explores their different approaches to pop stardom/ fame, artistry, and marketing? i think it would be really cool to hear more about their individual impacts on pop culture since they are so different! like popstar & rockstar sort of dynamic
This is coming from someone who loves Sabrina, loves concerts, and went to concerts as a minor. Julia Michaels let me in, that was perfect, it was fine (first concert, I was im highschool). I went to Ashnikko in college, and it was 18+. And it SHOULD have been. Then I went to the first concert by myself, Jazmin Bean.... why the hell was the audience 80% NINE YEARS OLD?? WHAT?? So that meant little kids and old men as dad chaperones who aren't fans, making it impossible to want to dance/let go/ even sing out loud. Embarrassing.
I wrote this since you said 'some things are just NOT for kids,' which I agree with, and really assumed this album was not for kids, and despite some singers with all ages shows having swear words or maybe songs with sexual meanings, usually really hidden to kids who don't know what that is yet, Sabrina's show is obvioudly different than that- it is NOT MADE for all ages, I've seen countless tiktoks showing it. So why then... why.. is it all ages 😭 there are standards that allow you to set an age- I don't think it's normal to have it "both ways," to want to sell as many tickets as possible or whatever the motivation is for allowing all ages, yet be aware of how not kid friendly it is. I do want us to remember parents should research before bringing their kids places, BUT, it is also research to them when they see the AGE rating. If your kid asks to go to a concert, then the parents see its 18+, obviously they're going to say no, it wouldn't happen.
It starts to feel like how Jake Paul aimed his videos at kids YET made them sexual, yknow? Sabrina is marketing to adults in every way, but fails at the age setting of her concerts, and I just don't understand why- it makes all this critisism rise up and actually have truth to it at a point, whereas there'd be no argument against her if it was just 18+. Why not avoid controversy? Press? I don't get it 💀
Respectfully, I completely disagree with you. It is 14+ to go alone, not all ages. I found that in a quick google search. Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. It is 100% on the parents if they brought their under 18 kid to see the show. My mom would've listened to the whole album first, and said absolutely not if I was under 14. 14-17, she would've had a conversation with me to gauge my awareness of the lyrics meanings, and considered my mental maturity. Parents today simply need to do better. It is the 2020s, and all it takes is one maybe two google searches. Even before the tour began, it was easy to look up Sabrina's previous tour and see the nonsense outros, to read or hear the lyrics of ALL her songs. My mom didn't have access to even 1% of that info in the 90s and 00s but she could still have sussed out how appropriate a concert was for her children.
@cicig1827 Truee. I almost am wondering if the kids going are going with siblings or other people that aren't their parents. Maybe seated concerts are also more acceptable to people taking kids than floor tickets where people can dance or even push each other at some concerts. It's still weird to me to allow the younger kids no matter if they're with an adult, because that's still an option you can say yes or no to when planning a tour. I'm talking like under 11. Teens I understand it being up to parent's discernment. What I wouldn't get is if you were to say your music and everything else (ex. choreography) is not for kids, but letting kids in. Though I don't know if Sabrina has ever said that herself (that it's not for kids), probably just projections onto her of what she may be thinking, reading between the lines, or just common sense (ex. She doesn't do childrens' brand deals or anything). That's why it feels like "having it both ways"
I loved her since she released eyes wide open and i really love the way she has embraced herself and this era! I also really laugh at the comments saying she's doing this for male attention... as a bisexual woman i just feel like she's just embracing the topic of sex and sexual things, and makes me feel like embracing it more. It does in no way feel like a "look at me i am so hot", its definitely more like a "sex is normal, its good, enjoy yourself"
When I saw posts about parents being shocked at her concert I was like maybe listen to her music bc that's on you not listening or seeing what your kid is watching or listening to. Not everything is for kids not every female pop artist is for kids. They don't say it about male singers/bands unless it's a young boyband.
I wonder how much of this is because people used to put the TV on for their kids and then trusted that they could walk away and leave them unsupervised. There was specific channels for kids and those tv networks were doing all the screening and vetting of the content for the parents. Now those generations are parents themselves but are doing the same hands off approach with current technology/media. It’s not the same landscape anymore, they need to be involved in their kids media consumption.
Okay I agree with everything you said but I'm pretty sure the "For the Guy" hanger joke was her saying she's going to be wearing nothing for "the guy". As in her birthday suit, if you will.
I laughed out loud when you talked about how she's not for the male gaze. I'm a lesbian & I love her 😂. She's been in my top artist on Spotify since I think 2019 & it's so great seeing her success over the past year especially. I agree with you saying adults should get to have pop music & it not be for kids! & loved that you mentioned her tour aesthetic choices & that it's not just her being horny. I love the set & overall vibe/marketing of the tour. I can't wait to see her in March in Dublin 🥰
I WANT TO but my kpop vids always flop in views idk if there’s interest and people who already like kpop already watch other creators so i’ve been going crazy 😔
@@jasminezade one thing I know for sure, stays (stray kids fans) will watch literally anything stray kids related, and you can promote it on twt, because so many videos have gone viral in the fandom because of twt.
I find ridiculous that the parents are blaming sabrina and expecting her to take care of the younger kids and what they're listening to but also, unpopular opinion, the whole seggual thing it's getting boring and I worry that she's going to get stuck on that act and also espresso was such a moment I don't see her coming up with something that tops it, hopefully I'm wrong but she hasn't proved herself yet and people are already saying she's one of the best artist from this decade
As a millenial I am constantly surprised by how prude and sex-negative a lot of zoomers are, considering they view themselves as such as progressive generation. I feel like Sabrina Carpenter's treatment really speaks to this, she's a grown woman making songs for adults and it's so weird how GROWN adults in their 20's are clutching their pearls at her.
Super off topic a porn video just came up for the ad before your video??? I reported it, just letting you know in case that keeps happening to your channel babe!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey girl!💗I found ur channel when I was trying to find out everything about 1d last year. I saw the Call her Daddy interview with Zayn a few days before & had to know EVERYTHING. Your word against mine
Everybody always forgets that these artists are adults and have feelings

You mean princess and popstar
Got my snack ready~ Always love videos discussing artist's branding/marketing!!
yayyy thanks for watching 🕺
I wish the concert was *18+* LIKE BRO YOU CAN CHOOSE THE AGE LIMIT

i see her getting all she can with a deluxe around her next leg and/or more singles! i’m excited to see where she goes

i saw a tiktok of a little girl in a carseat!! crying tears over getting sabrina carpenter tickets like ? 🤔 what is going on?
You get it. She is truly having the last laugh and I could not be more excited for her. I feel so proud, like that's my literal sister 💓 🩵
