The VWAP-hold, HOD break is a great pattern for a stock that’s a recent runner and heavily shorted.
Now, why would you want to watch a heavily shorted stock?
The longer they hold up in the afternoon, the more nervous shorts get. These stocks tend to spike after hours and shorts don't want to hold overnight.
That's what you’re looking to capitalize on - the shorts looking to exit these stocks.
Whether or not you’re familiar with the meme stonk GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME), you’ll want to catch Bohen’s chart breakdown in the video.
You can see the stock opens flat, chops around a bit, then spikes big around 10 a.m. It immediately lands on traders' radars because it’s a big percent gainer on the day.
Now, what you're looking for is that confirmation move. Watch for the stock to run midday and pull back to VWAP around 2 p.m.
This shows that the buyers are in control. It essentially becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy once you see that break of the high of day.

This pattern has been one of the best for me. Honestly, I've had about 90% green trades out of this one.

You don't have to be handcuffed to the PDT rule if you have a cash account instead of a margin account... As long as you only trade with settled funds. So I have a 12k account and trade with 6k/day because that cash will take two days to settle so I always have 6k/day to trade per day. So I can take as many trades as I want with settled funds.

Just one thing to confirm. You talk about PDT rule. I have a cash account only. I play with my money and no margin. Does PDT apply to me or I can do as many small trades as long as I have settled cash?

Aah, OK. Thanks. Just looked at that. It seems though that the stock info in this respect is intermittent? i.e. not real time? I guess it's the best we can get though, which helps...
