You don’t have to use StocksToTrade for this scan, but we hope you’ll use our scanner anyway! (We may be a bit biased, but take it from Bohen 😉).
Tune into the video to see charts on Alterity Therapeutics Ltd (NASDAQ: ATHE) and FuelCell Energy Inc (NASDAQ: FCEL) ... Both of these charts exhibit this pattern.
First, you want to set a price range. Bohen’s personal sweet spot is between $1 and $20. You can adjust yours according to the stocks you like to trade.
Don’t forget … Higher price stocks can make huge moves, but lower-priced stocks tend to attract more degenerate day traders. This helps create more opportunity.
Next, the stock should be up more than 10% a day. You may even feel comfortable enough to tweak that to 20% or 30%, especially as you head into the afternoon.
The VWAP-hold HOD is an afternoon pattern. So 2 p.m. Eastern is typically when this pattern plays out.
Check that volume, too … You want the shares traded to be at least a million shares or more. Tune in to the video as Bohen has some tips for this criteria.
Now we’re getting to the magic, so tune in. Learn more about the VWAP portion of this pattern and how you can use it. It’s all about the hugging action - and defining your risk.
When you run this scan, you should get a manageable number of stocks to watch and sort by volume. Time to drill down.

Having trouble setting up this scanner? Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my VWAP box looks different than the one in the video. Any way I could get someone to look at mine and give me some advice?
I live 12 times zones away and only trade until md-day...I might try to trade the whole day and will give it a try.

Once again Tim, thanks for helping the newbie traders. I’m setting this scan up on Webull, but can’t find the last criteria about vwap +5% or -5. I will be looking at trading this set up. Thanks for increasing my knowledge account. When I finally get a computer I’ll join STT. Until then I’m just executing on my damn cell phone.

Tim, great video and thanks for all the great content you put out. Things are finally starting to click for me, and I attribute alot of why to your morning prep webinars and RUclips videos. 1 suggestion for this video. It would have been great if you had continued to record sunw’s progress and splice in the final results if it actually did run. For new traders, seeing the action and showing the breakout and where the entry point (high of the day) should have been taken, would help visual learners greatly. Thanks again for all you do.

Hell yea every afternoon around Power hour I’m looking for this pattern. Hopefully I catch it before it jumps at or above the days high. Sometimes I chase after that, sometimes I don’t
where is the last section located for greater "VWAP Last " and less "VWAP Last? I saw the VWAP but it doesnt have "last " included

Hi everyone, quick question. Streetsmart edge does not have VWAP criteria for me to be able to set the +/- 2% above/below VWAP. Is the middle bollinger band the same thing?
Is there a way to do a oracle alert for a vwap/hod pattern.

That is a great lesson, neverteless... I don't understand whydoes it need to be stocks slightly above or slightly below WVAP ?? I thought it had to be above the VWAP most of the time on the day..... (WVAP-Hold)

I’m running THink Or Swim but can’t see the Vwap 2% in the scanner? Any idea?
Tim is there a reason why u wait for the hod break to enter and not before like when it perks up off VWAP and starts grinding up towards the hod?
I’m guessing bc once it breaks HOD, all shorts are under water at this point. Much higher chance they start to cover and the stock pops. Until it breaks the level, it’s a gamble if it will or not. Start with small size on the run up if you prefer. Then once it breaks hod, hammer it

Sadly I think thats a perk only available in STT scan.
What you see Tim doing here is talking about filtering on market conditions but within the STT platform specifically. If you use a another platform, eg Webull then you would need to see how the filtering works within that platform, but still utilising the filter criteria that Time mentioned.

Webull doesn't have that, just use the webull vwap indicator and premarket gainers pretty much the same thing good luck my fellow trader
