I'm still surprised they had her debut... there's no way the company didn't know she was gonna get insane backlash, come on. It wasn't even like it was so worth it because her skills were phenomenal, so she was just gonna shut them up with her talent. She wasn't bad, but she was just okay in the group. Did they expect the backlash to help them go viral or something? But it backfired? The whole situation was shady.
Can you imagine how wild people wouldve gone if her company had come out & said - we are not going to force our 15 year old idols to starve themselves to fit into a toxic beauty standard & those “fans” & antifans bodyshaming a child should be ashamed of themselves” Theyd have lost some support from some nasty people but wouldnt they have gained a ton too from being the best company ever?
I remembered when she would be in articles all the time but there was literally nothing wrong with her. The article made it worse because the people that shamed her got what they wanted which is attention.
This case kinda reminds of Ive's Liz but Kyla's case is even worst people fat shaming is most toxic each year the beauty standards change this industry is so toxic the Korean beauty standards are changing day by day it's so toxic the Korean beauty standards this is so annoying 🙄😡😒
I remember watching a drama and survival show that when someone sick, in Korea they say that because that person not take care of herself, that was that person FAULT to be sick. They even said that in front of the person that is sick, instead giving them supportif word to make them happier to fight their sickness. I think this is too much bad word. Being sick is not someone elses fault, it just happen. Even when you have the good day, healtier food, good activity in the great weather, you still can got sick. I don't understand why Korean have this kind of mindset.
No one deserves to be treated like this, especially someone who has worked so hard to achieve their dreams. This strong woman deserves much more than a long period of training, hate, hiatus, and eventually disbandment. She deserves to be a world renowned singer. I only care about her health and happiness, and I hope she is happy right now. She deserves nothing but peace and a happy long life.
That whole situation p*ssed me off the fact that a 15 year old was going through all that hate. they put the poor girl through hell she wasn’t even fat in the first place people just like to be mean for no reason at all.
lets not forget that prominent RUclipsrs and online influencers joined in on the bullying as well... there were not many people that wanted to stick up for Kyla at the time
I am so frustrated on this topic, when I post comments saying body shaming and kpop industry is toxic on Chinese social media, people always comes back at me with "it's their job to be skinny" and I'm like what? They made me realize how hard it is to change the industry because millions of fans stood by it's toxicity. It's just a bad cycle which harms everyone.
I dont know whynpeople always ready to ruin someone life she is so pretty she dont need to lose weight those people had to wash their brain im glad that she came forward and spoke about mallicious comments and im happy she did what she want in her life and doing great
What she went through is just disgusting, and she was just 15 yo for Christ's sake. At 2:00, I just can't believe how she manages to remain professional : she keeps on smiling even though the photographers purposely ignore her. That breaks my heart. She is too good for K-pop, I'm glad she is healthy and happy now.
Netizens out here commenting on her weight and yet how many of then have a weight problem? Being a celebrity or and idol does not mean you have to look a certain way, the K-pop industry has made it that way, and the idol finally gives in and starves themself they get praised. Even someone like Wonyoung who is dangerously thin is praised for it. Knetz are brutal and have unrealistic expectations.
The fact that it's not just fans fat shaming her but also the media and paparazzi is disgusting. Seriously she isn't even that fat! This sort of thing could give her major anxiety. Poor Kyla
If people only gave her a chance she would have won their hearts…It shatters my heart seeing how people treated her,I hope she is happy and netizens will stop criticizing her even after she gave up her career as an idol.😭❤️❤️
“Kyla seems to be living her best life…” You’re forgetting the part where Kyla said she was worried about having to move back to America (after Pristin’s disbandment) because she was scared of school shootings, and then there was a shooting at her high school. Also, you lose journalistic credibility when you blur out words like “bullying” and “attacking.”
I love how Kayla talked back!! She's is absolutely right the words of others do not define who she is as a person. And her pictures with her and her boyfriend are adorable!! I'm glad she's living a new and happy life now
She was the maknae. How does koreans netizens think that its right treat her like absolute shit? They done the same exact shit to Sulli (an angel in heaven) and look what happened. The same thing almost happen and if it did, they still wouldn't be sorry. Kyla's famcam still gets hate comments.
One thing is netizens doing stuff like this, but I think it is outrageous that the paparazzi at the fan sign took pictures of the other members when she had her time for solo pictures. even though netizens behaviour is awful, it has become expected at this point. But when people who are supposed to do their job, start acting unprofessional like this, that is a completely different matter. Those people should be fired for that shit
it seriously crushes my heart to see people attacking liz, when she’s perfectly gorgeous as she is…peoples obsessions with other peoples bodies disgusts me 🤕
I've never heard of her and never followed the group. All the clips shown here don't show a girl obese, overweight, or fat. People carry weight differently and have different body shapes. She looks like she has wider hips/pelvis than is typical of Kpop stars, and some of these outfits aren't styled for her body type, making her worse. I don't see any extra fat on her stomach and thick thighs don't automatically mean someone is fat or overweight.
I still don’t get the thing about people pointing out and shaming the fat in our body.. whats wrong with being overweight? This is just sad and disappointing. “Ruining the visual of the group” the only thing I care about is their talent and music not about their visuals, K-pop is beginning to be all about visuals not about talent or music. Im really glad she is ok now and gained back her confidence again because shaming someone’s weight will never be ok 😕
People hate for no reason. Like it’s rude, it’s not necessary. It’s just mean and disrespectful. Love yourself regardless what people say. Love you first!🫶
"If you can't take care of your body then you don't have the right to be one" and then "I'm not asking you to be stick skinny" that's exactly what they're asking. Kyla is absolutely beautiful and talwnted. It's just an absolute shame this happened to her. It's sad the only way she would have received praise and acceptance is if she was as skinny as all the other members, makes me laugh at how they play it off and say she's unhealthy.. it's unhealthy to be borderline starving..
Won't say much but both domestic and international Fandoms should grow up. The audacity to bodyshame every idol its way too much like who's damn perfect 100%!??? From Liz now it's Kyla going through some hectic days because of toxic fans 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠. It's her body and her choice to do whatever she wants with it either gain weight or not fans should stop Wilding while trashing female idols, people need to get themselves busy with work or school instead of bothering Kyla. phewwwww!!!!!

Recently I was watching a kdrama Idol: the coup,in it a girl group is close to disbandment after years of neglect and downright step mortherly treatment by the agency after they dipped a bit in popularity, the first thing I remembered was all I had read about Pristin disbandment and treatment, it still hangs on my head and I feel so bad for all the girls in the group, their talents were not just wasted but they were even denied an opportunity to try their best, it was snatched from them even before that.
I'm not usually one for quoting the Bible but in this case, fans should really take care of the beams in their own eyes before trying to pluck out splinters in the idols'. If you think it's okay to bully someone because of how they look, you're the one who needs help.
Treat people the way you wanna be treated!!! I wish I was there, I'd have the brightest lightstick and chant her name soo loud! I love her, she's my inspiration to keep going no matter what people think
Poor thing. Even when she was out of the group them bum ass ppl were still worried about her. Smh glad she’s doing good just sucks that Korea is so worried about looks than talent.
I only became a kpop fan in 2020 and it’s 90% boy groups, so I didn’t know Pristin really but DAMN!! This girl who is 1-2 years younger than me is SOOO PRETTY!! She’s so young and doesn’t deserve the discrimination because she’s not naturally a size 0 in clothing🙄

I think that is just the reality in Asia. People are not afraid to call out when somebody's gaining weight. Ofcourse international fans will be more understanding and see no issue in weight especially if they're teenagers. But Asians don't give af.
One thing I like about being American. There just a certain extent to which we care about a celebrities weight. But not to this extent as long as they make good music. But this they literally bullied a 15 year old for no dam reason beyond just her weight.

She didn't deserve to be treated like this... And shame on those who discuss the weight/appearance of idols, how can you be so dirty and vile? It makes my blood boil, like i actually wanna throw hands
This is proof that all the Knetizens are the biggest bullies.
Those Korean netizens sound like the school bullies that are infamous in Korean dramas and in documentaries.
we don't listen to k-pop bc the idols are pretty, we listen and enjoy the music bc the idols are super talented and skilled dancers/singers - so frustrating to see netizens only caring about looks
The groups mostly don't even produce themselves and songs are repetitive.
It's all about their looks.
Their entire career is dependent on their appearance.
Don't be naive, kpop stans are all about looks
I feel so bad for Kyla, she is just 15. She doesn't deserve this hate 😔😔😔. People can be very mean but this shouldn't stop you from your inner beauty. Not everyone is perfect and I think agencies shouldn't be looking for perfect people, in the end, we all are human and with real emotions. Hard work can never betray you. It's disgusting how people can say such malicious things that too a young bubbly teenager who wants to live her life to the fullest 😤😤😤😤😤. It's her body and her choice to do whatever she wants with it either gain weight or not. Purely disgusted 😠😠 😠😠😠😠
Kyla and I are only a year apart (it's funny we're both studying psychology now, not the point tho) I know how it feels to put down for your weight as a teenager, I can't imagine how it must have felt coming from that many people. It's good to see she's doing well.
It’s so sad how she got so much hate when she was only 15 years old.
The whole situation was shady.
i hate this so much, she never got anyone to defend her unlike other more popular idols.. she was utterly alone it’s heartbreaking
I would like to see pictures of the people sending her these messages. I bet they are not "idolistoc"
Can you imagine how wild people wouldve gone if her company had come out & said - we are not going to force our 15 year old idols to starve themselves to fit into a toxic beauty standard & those “fans” & antifans bodyshaming a child should be ashamed of themselves”
Theyd have lost some support from some nasty people but wouldnt they have gained a ton too from being the best company ever?
Literally bullying a child. These people have no empathy smh.
I still believe there is way more to their disbandment and I cannot wait for NDAs to expire
NOW, CAN PEOPLE LEAVE OUR DEAR LIZ ALONE PLEASEEEEE
I think she stands out and is still beautiful. I'm glad she didn't let all that hate get to her
That whole situation p*ssed me off the fact that a 15 year old was going through all that hate. they put the poor girl through hell she wasn’t even fat in the first place people just like to be mean for no reason at all.
lets not forget that prominent RUclipsrs and online influencers joined in on the bullying as well... there were not many people that wanted to stick up for Kyla at the time
I am so frustrated on this topic, when I post comments saying body shaming and kpop industry is toxic on Chinese social media, people always comes back at me with "it's their job to be skinny" and I'm like what? They made me realize how hard it is to change the industry because millions of fans stood by it's toxicity. It's just a bad cycle which harms everyone.
So ya not all international fans supports normal weight idols
She was never even overweight which only makes it more absurd, but even if she was there’s no justifying the hate she got.
If having a little more weight should disqualify you as a idol then attacking a 15 year old girl should disqualify you as a human.
i hope the people who treated her like that get the same treatment back!
She deserves better, netizens just project their securities onto others, shame on them for body shaming a young girl
Why are we talking about this now. The group disband a long time ago.
that's just disgusting to treat people that way (especially a teenager) because of their weight.
“Kyla seems to be living her best life…”
You’re forgetting the part where Kyla said she was worried about having to move back to America (after Pristin’s disbandment) because she was scared of school shootings, and then there was a shooting at her high school.
And the same thing is happening to Liz from ive
it seriously crushes my heart to see people attacking liz, when she’s perfectly gorgeous as she is…peoples obsessions with other peoples bodies disgusts me 🤕
I hate how people hate Kyla just because they think she overweight. She’s healthy
And they blame agencies and other artists of bullying and mental and physical health.
Talented * lol
Won't say much but both domestic and international Fandoms should grow up. The audacity to bodyshame every idol its way too much like who's damn perfect 100%!??? From Liz now it's Kyla going through some hectic days because of toxic fans 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠. It's her body and her choice to do whatever she wants with it either gain weight or not fans should stop Wilding while trashing female idols, people need to get themselves busy with work or school instead of bothering Kyla. phewwwww!!!!!
i was getting up from my pc removing my headphone and i forgot to pause the video when i head "she was only 9 years old " i jumped out of my chair and dropped my headphone shes so young . companies need to stop debuing idols so early on
Recently I was watching a kdrama Idol: the coup,in it a girl group is close to disbandment after years of neglect and downright step mortherly treatment by the agency after they dipped a bit in popularity, the first thing I remembered was all I had read about Pristin disbandment and treatment, it still hangs on my head and I feel so bad for all the girls in the group, their talents were not just wasted but they were even denied an opportunity to try their best, it was snatched from them even before that.
I love her, she's my inspiration to keep going no matter what people think
kyla was, and still is, beautiful. it's a shame that those "fans" are so nitpicky about how idols look nowadays.
I miss Pristin they were as famous then as Ive now and their songs were so fun and catchy
there’s no way she just “refused,” like she literally was a kid her weight was def not her choice. Did they want her to starve wtf
Some girls you may not have heard of yet: Purple Kiss, Purple Beck, Cosmic Girls, Billie, Alice, fifty fifty
solo: C.GEANE ruclips.net/video/oRk3v8ZvQ6U/видео.html (not kpop)
C.GEANE isn't skinny btw
@@silververnallbells191 Ooh thank you, I’ve heard of Cosmic Girls, Purple Kiss and Billie, but haven’t really looked into them. Billie is relatively new right? It was around the same time Kep1er was supposed to debut I think right? One of the girls was from Girls Planet 999 I believe
@@silververnallbells191 I’ll have a look! I love artists who are confident in their own bodies🥰
This is disgusting. The fact people are bullied because of their weight or shape regardless of what it is. What a beautiful girl!
I use to argue with people over her weight and it was so sad cause I was really rooting for her and she was just 15 it was heart breaking
What gives netizens the right to body shame her??? They act as if they are better than her, but they are far from that. And those paparazzi scumbag who refused to take any pictures of her. They were acting like children.
Watch Me Glow is awesome. It has a Pledis diss track, too. A must listen.
I'm so tired of this crap. It makes me sad that women can be so cruel to other women. Support each other, don't be like this.
Even if she was overweight, how dare these people treat her this way
Bc of something as irrelevant as her weight she should be treated like she's not a human being? I'm not surprised it was knets and k fans,
Kfans looove to sh*t on ifans yet they act this way while claiming to be "fans"
I'm not a fan of Pristin but waow am I proud of Kyla for sticking up for herself.
"I'm beautiful in my own way" YES You tell em Kyla
And yet, epople are now doing the same thing to Liz (IVE). Seriously, these toxic obsessions about weight needs to stop!!!
i feel bad for her but now i heard shes back in school and i hope shes doing better
why are people still making videos about her? she’s a normal citizen now, trying to live her life… lets stop analysing her
This is my first time hearing about her and her group and I'm shocked and disappointed?!?!! She's not even that WHAT IS WRONG WITH KOREAN PEOPLE?!
I wasn’t a K-pop fan back when Pristine was around, but I feel so bad when listening to Kyla’s story. It saddens me that people can be so mean and spiteful for no reason. You’d think people would stop body shaming after everything that’s happened in similar situations like this; but even in the year 2023 it continues.
The obsession fans have with these idols is unhealthy
She doesn't look overweight...
Bullying is just terrible and no one really seems to care
And it’s hilarious how grown adults will bully a child like goddamn
Kyla I'm so happy for you !! Hope you have a well settled life, a life far better than the life u had as a 15 y/o.
She's actually so beautiful though, this is crazy!
I’m glad that she’s doing better now:)
I hope you can always do these kind of videos💚✨
One day we will truly find out what happened to Pristin and why they disbanded so early into their successful career, and all the alleged bullying rumours within the group
