This is a masterclass on efficient filmmaking, not a single wasted shot or element. The tone of the film works with the limitations of the camera and lighting, the ISO noise and not great color reproduction of kit lenses adds a grittyness and expression of mundane despair that compliments the story, although a part of me wishes you had tried some cheap fast primes to just bump the visual polish and dynamicism up a bit on certain scenes. You prove again and again that anyone can make an effective film at any budget level. Much respect, and you can bet ill be back here when Im planning my first microbudget feature.
When you first said you were gonna do this I thought it was a dumb idea. You really put people on game on how to shoot a movie start to finish. This is now the starters blueprint.
Darious this is hands down the greatest breakdown/behind the scenes I've ever seen!! Couldn't stop watching it was so engaging all the way through, and there's so much awesome information in it. This whole trilogy of Unsound has been some of the greatest content on RUclips!
I have just finished watching this, and i have no words this is truly a masterpiece it explains everything thing so well, i will be taking notes the next time i will watch it. Im shocked. Well done man, All that hard work paid off for sure.
Bro I’ve been following you for a few years now. I’ve learned so much, I’m not ready yet but I hope to produce a film of my own in the next couple years. Thanks for your content.
I have waited for this ever since you announced it, and it came out at the perfect time for me (right after i finished the biggest filmmakin project of my life). When you posted the video about having to much on your plate, I related to that. You are a huge inspiration for thousands of young filmmakers like me. Thank you for that.
Darius is giving away filmmaking techniques that people would charge money for, for FREE. God bless you bro 🙏🏾 RUclips should really push his videos up, straight to the top
What an amazing resource! I'm only about halfway through, but I've already learned so much. This video really allows for audiences to learn almost as if they were shadowing you on set.
commenting for engagement, thank you so much for this darious, i hardly ever comment on youtube videos but this one blew away my mind, i learnt a lot from this and it fueled a lot of inspiration in me. Thank you so much!
Unsound is more than a movie, it's a personal story, as well as a sacrifice by a man dedicated to teach everyone what he knows about his craft. This Unsound "trilogy" should be shown in every film school.
Man bro, I've been following you for a few years now. I'm really glad you're back man. I've gotten sooooo much better at making films now because of you.
Wow. I am 31 minutes in. It is cut together perfectly. Darious is brilliant at editing and story telling. All of the quiet moments and the long pauses fit the mood of the video. I am learning so much already. This is like an abbreviated Hollywood filmschool class. I am busy right now and must break myself away, but I will be coming back to this later. I have been sucked in!
For a long time I wondered why it took producers so long to come back into society. But now having worked on a script myself, and completed one, I tottally understand.
This was clearly a massive project for you! I'm sure it was draining physically and probably more emotionally. I imagine that after completing this trilogy you feel very proud and I hope much lighter! Congrats and great work as always!
D4Darious, years ago back in high school I discovered your channel while researching how I should go on making my first short film. Now I'm taking my second year college with a degree in Film. I've won a couple small awards here and there but most importantly, I am happy with what I do. You were one of my first inspirations and I want you to know the magnitude of your influence. Keep up the good work always!
Dude how is this free. I would pay huge money for this man. While I watch this all the effort and time you've put into this just inspires me to work harder at making films. You're filmmaking knowledge is at level that is way beyond mine, and I've learned so much from this video.
Hey man. Been following you for a long while, but right now, I'm just blown away by the amount of hard work you did for making this video. God bless you man! Amazing things are waiting for you. ❤
The editing and overall visuals apart from the subject, are absolutely outstanding Darious. Please keep it up, you’re really a huge inspiration to me as an aspiring filmmaker also living in Arizona. Love everything you’ve done from the early stuff and it’s clear to see how much you’ve grown as an artist. Destined for great things man!
I love that you broke down lenses, lighting, and sound in each scene. I learned so much from this. You went all the way with the animation and effects brahski, I hope this and UNSOUND gets you more filmmaking opportunities from Hollywood because you deserve it!
@@D4Darious Yah of course! I was going to ask what the P in KVP stands for, but then I figured it out. XD I did a one-on-one video sesh with you last year, and I rewatched it just today. Pearls of wisdom galore.
This was really good quality, that you for doing this too, I'm trying to learn filmmaking at 15, just know that all your work was not for nothing! this was really helpful for me!
Bruh, you truly are an inspiration. I cant imagine how much editing and time was put into this. Unsound is a great movie, watched it 2 years ago and this vid makes me appreciate it even more.
D, this might be the most valuable resource for independent filmmakers to have come along in years. I know the effort to put this together must have been epic and I just wanted to send you my thanks. This is amazing
This is probably the best RUclips video I watched in several years. So much insight matchlessly presented. Lots of hard work in making it, great graphics. Have to be grateful for all you shared with us. Made me want to watch the movie now,
I feel like I have learned more from this video than I have from anything else. It's such a deep dive and the details are explained quickly and effectively... I'm blown away. There's a reason you're my favorite filmmaking channel on RUclips. Thank you for this break down Darious. This is absolutely amazing!
I don't think I have much to say than just "Thank you" truly. Your consistency and determination to your craft helps us to do the same. You are truly a blessing to this community.
It would be interesting to see the workflow for this brilliantly done Documentary - the BTS showing all the sterling effort that went into putting it all together would be a blessing. No cap, this documentary truly deserves all the medals and accolades.
2:44, I can't stop laughing. I just got the mental image of this thumbnail walking up to Darious, going "BOO!" and then Darious SCREAMS and craps a bunch of pickles.
Thank you so much, Mr. Darious for this Start to Finish. I've been a subscriber of yours for a very long time. You have provided me with so many resources and tools throughout my process . I'm currently working on my first short. I'm in pre-production as I type. Thank you so much Bruh Bruh lol.
Dude the intro to this video is a short film of its own freakin legendary editing and story telling skills and the music went really well with every shot
This is such detailed of a break down. I am just amazed at how much coverage was captured and the whole project comes together flawless. The commentary is so good. This video alone should win an award for Best Docu Break Down. (If I may coin an award).
For me this IS a MASTERCLASS. The pacing is astounishing in this video, it feels like You have it one TAKE. The rythm/passion in Your narration voice is the constant throughout all the 2 hours. It does not flinch even one bit. Hard, really hard to believe that It took You many more time than expected to finish this "breaking-down" video. @D4Darious I can feel it. but it must have bein challenging to have the overall vision of the breakdown video in order to have a coherent result especialy after these cuts to trim it down.
