Yes, she is filled with such intellect with her incredibly large vocabulary and well contructed, articulated arguments. A real behemoth to deal with as far as discussions go.

This is exactly what you hear from a lot of Trump voters "maybe you should've been nicer to us and we wouldn't have voted for him". Every human being, adult or child, has used a version of this excuse when they royally fuck up. "Maybe you should've done this and I wouldn't have totaled the car!" "Maybe you should've done this and I wouldn't have forgotten to lock the house and gotten us robbed!" You're a fucking adult. Take responsibility for your actions without following it up with a "but". Its not the world's responsibility to sit you down and talk to you in a nice calming voice. Not that you would've listened anyways. You had already willfully ignored so many bad signs when you voted for that clown, I'm not sure what else anyone could've told you.
+James Sunderland LOL. You obviously have no idea who Fran Lebowitz is, or if you do you're being dishonest about her intelligence. Or, you're showing your own.
Darrell Issa "I worry we live in a country where our leaders let the people down regularly." Says the dude that's skipping out on Town Halls to avoid angry constituents.
Everyone should be angry that almost all of the Republicans are enabling the cover-up about Russia's interference and hacking. That should not be a partisan issue. It borders on treason if it's true. Everyone should be angry that our president might be getting orders from a foreign government. If it really isn't true, fine, investigate it and find evidence that proves it's false. But just the possibility that it might be true is unacceptable. It's not worth the risks.
postal69... as far as you know ???!!! That just says you KNOW NOTHING !!! WHEN was this investigation you're talking about ??? WHO performed this investigation ??? DAMN, you people are stupid !!!!
D E at least Maher was willing to silence Milo. This went sideways because he didn't want to attack her, and I don't blame him because it would have made him look like an asshole and then the whole episode would have gone even more downhill. She was just defending her cognitive and emotional dissonance as if she's chatting over tea and forgetting she's got HBO cameras in her face and every second of screen time costs a LOT of money. She was more concerned with hanging onto her personal worldview than following the line of topical conversation and letting other people speak. Basically she seems to have issues (related to being religious, specifically) and although it hurt to watch and wasted everyone's time (Im sure hes pissed), he did the right thing by being gentle IMO.
She did have a really hard time articulating her point. Some truths are just too ugly to accept. Being told you're insane and un-educated because you agree with the president is an example of this for tens of millions of Americans. To reach those people, we do need something other than ridicule. Seth Meyer's question is a perceptive one, though: "What else are we supposed to say?" Being repectful is not the job of comedians. Their job is always to ridicule the ridiculous. Trump is just so full of it that they're having a field day. And the news media too is largely just reporting what is going on. The ugly truth that comes from that messenger is not their fault either. It is the guy the right voted into office.
her constant victim look is so frustrating to watch, especially when she thinks "humanity is in the center"... not when the right is well beyond the oppression line
Seth doesn't know shit about politics. He supports Bernie because he thinks it's generous to offer poor people a bunch of free stuff, which ironically destroys our economy even more. But the fact is.. You can afford to support that when you have so much money you'll be rich when your dead. If Seth we're an everyday worker out in the real world, still working hard for his dreams... Also, Seth on trump saying the media didn't report the standing ovation.... It's the fact that the media will hide SO much in such effort to make trump look bad. Which even after a year of him not being president they still do..... THAT ... Should scare the shit out of you.
Asra Nomani looks like she has no idea what's actually going on, and just tries to fill in the gaps with occasionally saying "Well, we need to think about other people's feelings". That's all she brought to the conversation.
This is a brilliant show, I wish we had more like it in the UK. Honesty, succinct arguments, no pc bullshit, humour. We used to be good at that too. I might get hate for saying it but 10 years ago, I didn't get the land of the free stuff at all- the UK seemed more fearless and free, but right now, I think the tides have turned. The UK is overly PC and the US has great shows like this that say it as it is. It's really refreshing, and not because it's bashing the US, but because it's applicable to the UK as well.
1) This show is a rare breed in America, 2) this show says a lot of risky non-PC shit ....but in that same breath, it doesn't always successfully highlight & dissect issues affecting minorities. Which sucks because, as stated, there are few other shows that cover this political ground.
ukboy Really? I generally envy the UK for its intolerance of bullshit politicians, mostly on actual news channels (yes, still to some extent, the BBC too). American politicians are exceptionally good at dodging questions or "we've run out of time!" before anything meaningful is scraped out of them. In the UK, due to its small size, I've seen plenty of bastards get assaulted in the streets because of what they said (or didn't say)- Theresa May comes to mind?
She just gave the the advice they need lol. No matter how good their policies may be, the democrats have just become so unpalatable that average people tend to range from ambivalence to "Donald Trump spite vote" when they start talking
I think he meant Senator Chuck Schumer. He's the one who said it about the shoe on the other foot. Though, I would let you know President Obama said in 2009: "Our election is the will of the American people. Republicans will need to get on board, or stand to the side." President Obama was actually lobbying in congress before he left to push the idea of healthcare reforms as being called "Trumpcare."
You completely missed the point. The response isn’t to what you disagree with it is become a blanket “Racist, Bigot, Misogamist, -ist” slander. I understand that and I’m sick of seeing that from people too.
Asra says "Trump or Milo can say whatever he wants, but if you respond to them and get angry to abuse it's your fault" What the fuck? Victim blaming 101, in 'how to enable a malignant narcissist textbook.' That's not compassion woman, that's giving in
K Ham Well that's what I was thinking, until she talked about Milo. I think this lady is oblivious to what has been going on in the political circle over the years, and is only looking at the response from the left without seeing what the right has been doing. I agree with you on that the generalisation of Trump supporter is not good for the country, and for the democrats. The best thing the left can do is try to make them aware of the hypocrisy of the Trump administration. But as far as the lady in the pink goes, I think she is living in her own little bubble oblivious to the machinations of the political environment.
"muslim femenist" is such an oxymoron! And I am a liberal Iranian! U do not speak for me or defend me! Liberals stop sugarcoating Islam! You will regret it dearly! omg
I am sooooo confused! All this care and attention for Milo's feelings and reminder that he's a human being ... what about the victims he trolled and their feelings? So Milo can say what he wants but you can't criticise him because it might hurt his feelings .... mind blown!
I have to agree. All those who say liberals caused Trump to win because they were too busy being politically correct---hmmm...Milo Y. called Larry W 'obtuse' for rightly pointing out that painting all Trangender people as sexual predators was wrong just as it was wrong when done to gay men and women, then told Bill he shouldn't put such 'awful people' on the panel and needed better quality guests. None of those insults seemed to bother her just them dropping the F-bomb. A world that Milo is no stranger to throwing around. Crazy. She seems to think voting in an abomination is fine; being impolite a deal breaker.
Glo Kay There's a difference between being mean and dissing someone's movie & a complete character assassination/falsely accusing someone of being linked to paedophilla
I'm sure that Fran Lebowitz is very smart however these quippy one-liners made it seem as if she wasn't completely educated on all topics and was just trying to stay apart of the discussion.
"Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding." -Proverbs 17:28 Maybe she was the wisest in attendance.
yeah, idk who she is, but from what I saw in this video, I think she was the worst one on the panel. She had no actual arguments, just elementary fallacies ("Isn't what this person just said absurd/ridiculous?" with no reasoning why)
Seth and Bill are idols of mine after seeing them on shows like this. It's that "thank fuck it's not just me thinking it" observational stuff I really admire about them. I mean, maybe not so much the US politics stuff since I'm not so clued up on that, but most definitely the atheism and Family Guy. I don't even care how it's viewed, it's a brilliant piece of satire in my opinion and one of my favourite comedies of all time. The only other shows that spoke to me in the same way were Peep Show and Red Dwarf. The Inbetweeners should get an honourable mention for representing me as a 16 year old though :p
mattcascade Agreed and also on shows. Family Guy is the US comedy I really identify with- also agree on Peep Show and Red Dwarf, both brilliant. I think we need a panel show like this in the UK. We used to have Mock The Week. I suppose The Last Leg isn't bad. This show feels a bit more fair though. I mean, the last leg is like 100% lefty. This show at.least gives the right a chance. i'm not so left that I don't appreciate hearing that.
Don't like to throw the word genius around too casually, but Seth went from cartoon impresario to revamping Cosmos, and he turns out to be a very good singer, as Sinatra called himself, "a saloon singer." Those are impressive credentials, indeed.
That's ironic coming from the left that is in an unholy alliance with Islam, the antithesis of everything the left stands for....just to get the muslim vote.
this is the sort of panic that makes ppl, have a "blind eye" she has the whole point "50% of the ppl voted in him" do I need to remind ppl that u have a country with a lot of armed ppl that can go to the streets and do damage... U should be afraid, in some of these points.
Haha. I scrolled down to the comments section with the intention of complaining about how tedious and intellectually shallow Asra Nomani is, but it would seem that EVERYONE ELSE beat me to it.
Eamonn Murphy what makes you say that? True, i dont remember much even when i skim the vid but she did say something pretty obvious by the end, that calling all/most trump voters dumb and white will mark the DNCs next defeat. I will say this to BM; when you have no heart and no brains that means you resort to relying on luck. And a populist coming from the left sweeping the nation like trump isnt likely. You are out of women and blacks to nominate and shit out of luck, Bill, so get your shit together and dont you dare support the likes of hillary again! And by the way can someone explain to me why the establishment loves blaming the voters so much when its the ELECTORS who decide the presidency? Oh yea its bc they will never admit to any wrongdoing no matter the cost.
As long as both Republicans AND Democrats can benefit from the existence of the Electoral College, it won't go ANYWHERE! The only 3rd party candidate that ever received any Electoral Votes was a former Democrat named Theodore Roosevelt! Even though Ross Perot received nearly 20% of the Popular Vote, he received Z-E-R-O Electoral Votes! You'd need an overwhelming majority in the Senate, the House of Representatives AND every state governor to vote AGAINST the Electoral College to eliminate it! Thank you, James Madison AND Alexander Hamilton!
@@nonyanonya6292 We are defined by our actions. Voting for Trump is a dumb thing to do, therefore anyone who does it is dumb. Lets please stop pretending that everyone deserves to be treated as if they're smart, ok?
Did anyone else notice Representative Issa put his hand on Fran Lebowitz' shoulder to silence her at 10:07? He immediately made her uncomfortable and then shifted his body language to have his hands cover and overpower her.
Powda Toast Mane she handled herself with strength and brilliance, I guess that's why he felt he had to attempt to overpower her physically as he was threatened by her ability to do so with her brain
Thor Riley Me too , she is tied first as my favorite character in that movie, which is a great film IMHO . I loved it when she wacked Elasta Girl across the face! Did you know it was the writer/director Billy Bird who did her voice? So iconic
Trump will win again, then you can cry some more. Maybe go riot and trash some neighborhoods. Leftists are good at that. They're like kids that throw temper tantrums.
Not until you fix the educational system that allows these ignorant to rise in society. An educated population are not easily fooled by bullshit. The uneducated who believe in ridiculous mambo-jumbo, come from bad educational systems, and are easily fooled and impressed with bullshit. There is a huge difference education makes. Specially in a democracy where the next door idiot has the same vote as you, and will cancel you out. Not a problem in a tyrant regime, as the dictator does whatever he likes, and if he is smart, he can do a lot of good for his people.
And who was spouting off about taking their guns into the streets if Trump lost because, you know, rigged, blah blah blah. It wasn't the 56% of the people who voted for NOT TRUMP. You're a hypocrite, and a stupid one, at that. Try not sitting on your brain; if it's not dead, maybe letting it have some oxygen will help.
You apparently have a selective memory about the last 8 years and how Barack was shit on by the right, which by the fucking way was waaaaay fucking worse.. But that is ok because you like many on the right are what the laymen call laymen......
Man I TOTALLY get the Peace & Love Movement (My God,I was born in1961!!), But THIS WOMAN lives in her own Reality!! No wonder she Likes Trump they're BOTH Crazy! Bill PLEASE don't have that DITZ on again!

@@nickm.5931 I've seen her in other shows and there's even a documentary about her on Netflix. She comes across as quite snobbish and offers soundbites most of the time.
This woman Asra has got to be the most intellectually challenged ,real time has had , in quite some time . She believes , by talking softly and in a conciliatory tone , the garbage coming out of her mouth will be overlooked . Go ! for god sake !
I’m a person from a country called Ethiopia in Africa and I believe Seth is a genius, not only here but in his Tv-shows, Movies. He is just a great character.
Rachel Schultz Why not? We liberals need more people like her, like Van Jones, Sarah Silverman, Piers Morgan, etc., really smart and educated, left leaning people who understand the other side. She doesn't think calling conservatives and even the farthest leaning right wingers stupid is productive, because it's not. If we could ignore them and run this country that would be fine, but we can't. We need them. We need each other. Love and education will bring a person closer to the middle than demeaning and objectifying them. Even if they do deserve it
No we don't. Really, look at the demographic numbers. Trump won because the left was split and disgruntled. They didn't turn out to vote in the places that mattered. Trump didn't get record numbers or impressive numbers for a GOP presidential candidate. So, no we don't need them. We can continue to call them idiots if we choose to without this fear that will hurt their feelings. Do I think they're all idiots? Of course not. But stop pretending that their vote matters. What matters is actually getting people out to vote despite the steady voter disenfranchisement campaigns in key areas. Thankfully, the courts have helped in this area...
Hanzo- -No-Okami If every vote mattered, then most presidents would be elected based on the majority of American eligible to vote. That has never been true and yet our elections have functioned fine for over 200 years. You're either naive, ill-informed, or both. Not every vote matters. Enough votes matter. This is a simple question of math and if you want me to run the numbers for you, I can.
OniSyphon I disagree only to the extent that you think Democrats can effectively govern while leaving a large portion of the country alienated. Whether their feelings are legit or not that's how they feel and they will not allow the left to do anything. They will use every single legal option available to obstruct, confuse, and dilute anything we try until the electorate gets frustrated and just puts them back in power. How do I know this? Because that's what always happens, it's happened twice in the past twenty years. You are right that it only appears to be the left that disagrees with each other and splinters apart, the Republicans disagree too but they stay loyal almost to a fault. Even up to and including pedophilia. Now we need to ask ourselves, does the left need better ideas that keeps all them happy, or do they need the personality types that would defend a pedophile??? We don't live in a perfect world, but we have to work with what we've got. We need the right or else nothing of substance will ever change in this country. I think they're retarded myself, but you've got to listen to them. We can't do it alone. If we could, we would
I wish this show would calm down a bit and return to the very intelligent conversation like that of the first time George Carlin was on the show. I understand that the president draws out the frustration in people but the guests on this show should be able to explain their ideas without being interrupted or talked over.
Asra Nomani seems to care about how people are treated and respected as human beings, yet she voted for someone who mocks people with disabilities and dismisses anyone who doesn't flatter him. I just don't get it.
that woman pretty much ruined the show.....such a drag. she said one good thing islam needs a reformation and the rest of it was whining about feelings nonsense...
Darrell Issa's point about defense spending being 4% of GDP is ludicrous. Who cares? That's like saying "Come on over to my house - it's only 1% of the distance to the moon." I do like his part about reducing our use of wildly expensive toys and getting back to basics. Regardless, our defense spending is wildly large...
The idea that because we can "afford" 4% we should spend 4% is indeed ridiculous. If we include war time spending, veteran services, and maintaining our nuclear stockpile (none of these included in that 4% number), then we've already exceeded the 4% number (at 4.7%). If you give the Pentagon more money that they neither want nor need, you won't reduce wastage on expensive toys, you make it more likely. This is because the Pentagon is required to use those funds and justify that use. In the short term, we can afford 4% (actually over 5% with those extras I mentioned), but Trump wanted to increase troop levels by 25%, and build the fleet back to WWII levels (even though we don't need that many ships unless he is planning a new World War). Long term, this spending will cut into other services, like education and healthcare. Eventually, if spending continues to grow at the same rate, we won't be able to afford anything but funding our military. The point being that sure, lots of countries spend more than 4% on their military, and you can't just look at raw numbers to determine if too much is being wasted. But countries that spend more than 4% usually have poor services and/or cut critical programs for civilians. That weakens a country and does more damage to national security than just maintaining the military budget we already have. I support a strong military, but we are kidding ourselves if we think our military isn't currently funded adequately (or more than adequately).
Seeing Seth McFarlane speak like that about Milo, I would have loved so much to see them go head to head, because to a certain extent, both Milo and Seth are agitators, except Seth does it through his series (mostly Family Guy), and Milo lives this on a daily basis
I like the way Rep. Issa speaks. I could almost get behind him until I realize it's mostly bullshit with a bit of convoluted logic thrown in. Sen. King....eh. Fran didn't say much but her limited speaking roll spoke volumes. More Fran please. I could listen to Seth all day. I don't know what to make of Asra.
Jack Grattan No. No. People do talk about Trump like they talked about Ted Bundy. That's just a fact. It doesn't mean I accused him of keeping dead women in his basement. He'll have more people killed than Bundy did though, that's a safe bet.

Asra Nomani talks a lot...in a simultaneously condescending _and_ overly-sympathetic tone, but the actual content and consequence of what she's saying is utterly vapid and vacant. It seems like any adult conversation just flies right over her head...and yet she's completely unaware of it. She's like the personification of those corny motivational posters with cliche empty feel-good jargon that _seems_ profound...but objectively isn't.
You had already willfully ignored so many bad signs when you voted for that clown, I'm not sure what else anyone could've told you.
s Subhan she comes across like she has a mild mental disorder.
Yep. I'll definitely not buy her book (nor read anything she writes). I didn't know who she was to begin with.
"They're all horrible." I fucking love you, Fran. I laughed so hard.
"When it comes from the White House it's a fucking problem"
Seth MacFarlane knocks it out of the park.
John Arthurs j
When the guy who created *Family Guy* thinks the White House is a farce --- Big Problem!
this was the best overtime in a while, and Seth really made the dilemma clear imo
"Because some of them are terrible" I died laughing. Thanks Angus King!
The tiny woman on the right is fire
I didn't know that Edna Mose had a doppelganger in our universe.
She's dumb
+James Sunderland LOL. You obviously have no idea who Fran Lebowitz is, or if you do you're being dishonest about her intelligence. Or, you're showing your own.
That would be my overtime question. "How do you feel to be the obvious inspiration behind the kickass character that is Edna Mode"
Aviral Puri that lady was a fuckin idiot. lol she just shouted minute points.
Darrell Issa "I worry we live in a country where our leaders let the people down regularly." Says the dude that's skipping out on Town Halls to avoid angry constituents.
Keely Nelsen ikr
Chris McElroy not the rest of the us tho 😀
Everyone should be angry that almost all of the Republicans are enabling the cover-up about Russia's interference and hacking. That should not be a partisan issue. It borders on treason if it's true. Everyone should be angry that our president might be getting orders from a foreign government. If it really isn't true, fine, investigate it and find evidence that proves it's false. But just the possibility that it might be true is unacceptable. It's not worth the risks.
jrasicmark1 as far as I know it has been investigated and no proof of that claim has been found.
postal69... as far as you know ???!!! That just says you KNOW NOTHING !!! WHEN was this investigation you're talking about ??? WHO performed this investigation ??? DAMN, you people are stupid !!!!
That booze MacFarlane was gulping really kicked in at the end of this little get-together.
or he was getting tired of that shill's bullshit.
God, I love Bill!! Thank God we have people like him on air!
Asra Nomani has to be the worst guest ever.
Seth Meyer's question is a perceptive one, though: "What else are we supposed to say?"
Being repectful is not the job of comedians. Their job is always to ridicule the ridiculous. Trump is just so full of it that they're having a field day.
And the news media too is largely just reporting what is going on. The ugly truth that comes from that messenger is not their fault either. It is the guy the right voted into office.
Greg, I think you're confusing Seth MacFarlane with Seth Meyers..
her constant victim look is so frustrating to watch, especially when she thinks "humanity is in the center"... not when the right is well beyond the oppression line
She is not fat but she is old and dumb.
Thank You Seth MacFarlane for common sense and intelligence.
Dude Seth knows more about politics than any Republican that I can think of.
too bad he's not intelligent when it comes to writing a funny movie script.

Asra Nomani looks like she has no idea what's actually going on, and just tries to fill in the gaps with occasionally saying "Well, we need to think about other people's feelings". That's all she brought to the conversation.
The reasons why Asra Nomani voted for Trump are absolutely crap.
and the reasons why you voted for Clinton are absolutely crap.
And yet, a WHOLE LOT less crap than Trump.
she never actually even GAVE a reason. pathetic.
I can't get enough of Fran LOVE HER
The small lady looks like the fashion designer from the incredibles
Who was based on Edith Head, she did a lot of the wardrobe for Hitchcock.
Fran Lebowitz's facial expression oscillating between anger and disbelief mirrors my state of mind since November very acurately.
I don't know who this Asra Nomani person is, but she appears to be the new "KellyAnn Conway." Says a lot without saying anything of substance.
What was without substance? Everything Maher and McFarlane said were without evidence or substance....Please go on because she was spot on.
she actually is the first woman to win
She just gave the the advice they need lol.
No matter how good their policies may be, the democrats have just become so unpalatable that average people tend to range from ambivalence to "Donald Trump spite vote" when they start talking
"I would rather have a smart congress"
**cue .gif of people losing their minds**
what's her name? I wanna see more of her.
Her name is Fran Lebowitz.
***** I know. I'm in support of her statement.
Doesn't make what she said not incredibly hypocritical.
Edna Mode
Bravo Fran, "Republicans should NOT have a Supreme Court nominee". Bravo!
Anthony Harvey Source?
I think he meant Senator Chuck Schumer. He's the one who said it about the shoe on the other foot.
Though, I would let you know President Obama said in 2009: "Our election is the will of the American people. Republicans will need to get on board, or stand to the side."
President Obama was actually lobbying in congress before he left to push the idea of healthcare reforms as being called "Trumpcare."
Well, try winning every once in a while, then you might have the chance to choose your own Supreme Court nominees.
Zachary Wheeler If the DNC ever acknowledges there are problems outside of the LGBTQ community and black community. Then they may win.
Anthony Harvey Very sad, but true.
It’s interesting to hear this now
Is Asra Nomani enabling abusers and blaming the people who responds to the abuse or what?
You will regret it dearly! omg
Agreed. There is no moderate Islam.
I am sooooo confused! All this care and attention for Milo's feelings and reminder that he's a human being ... what about the victims he trolled and their feelings? So Milo can say what he wants but you can't criticise him because it might hurt his feelings .... mind blown!
Glo Kay It's fucked up isn't it?
Naturally. Feelings only matter when they're liberal.
Sorry, but you don't get Asra because you're too stupid.
I'm sure that Fran Lebowitz is very smart however these quippy one-liners made it seem as if she wasn't completely educated on all topics and was just trying to stay apart of the discussion.
"Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding." -Proverbs 17:28
Maybe she was the wisest in attendance.
You have a prowrestling name. Dope.
yeah, idk who she is, but from what I saw in this video, I think she was the worst one on the panel.
She had no actual arguments, just elementary fallacies ("Isn't what this person just said absurd/ridiculous?" with no reasoning why)
Keep your claw off Fran, Issa.
I wish she'd said that.
PC160 Her look said it all...
He also tried to talk to the Congressman and shut out everyone else. Typical white male dick conservative.
MacFarlane was good here!!
Seth is a genius in a multitude of ways.
Don't like to throw the word genius around too casually, but Seth went from cartoon impresario to revamping Cosmos, and he turns out to be a very good singer, as Sinatra called himself, "a saloon singer." Those are impressive credentials, indeed.
Wish I could've heard more from Fran and Seth. Asra Nomani wasted so much time speaking nonsense. She ruined the entire episode.
She had absolutely nothing of substance to say either
Why was she there? She can convey any intelligence whatsoever.
Love Seth even more. Never disappoints
How did that woman get on the show? And Lebowitz was great.
Lebowitz is a bit too hardcore left for me. She's a left wing nut.

That's ironic coming from the left that is in an unholy alliance with Islam, the antithesis of everything the left stands for....just to get the muslim vote.

I am afraid we will have to wait until the 2020 presidential election to do this. And that election is a long way off!
Issa is pathological liar, his attacks upon all of Obama's administration were virulent & lies.
Please don't bring back Asra Nomani.
Even if they do deserve it
David Symer Guess you can't, because you didn't [shrugs]

I do not understand, she is saying stop being mean to Trump. Has she ever said that to Trump supporters.

that woman pretty much ruined the show.....such a drag. she said one good thing islam needs a reformation and the rest of it was whining about feelings nonsense...
Who is the woman in the pink sweater. Omg what a drag
