You gotta make time in life guys. Waiting around for the "right" time to do anything will surely disappoint you. If you want to do something, make time. Do it and don't look back. If it doesn't work out for you, then you learn something. Take the time off from work and do it, even if it's just one big adventure that uses all your time. Quality experiences > Quantity.
Waiting for the right time just ends up making you put if off forever and then you're old and dying and crying because you never did the stuff you want in life.
That... was beautiful. As someone who had plans but whose plans were knocked back again and again as mobility limiting medical conditions began to mount (I'm on number 5 at 35), I know I will never see this in person. But I'm thankful that I live in a time and place where people like you are kind enough to compile such amazing video and let me glimpse what could have been if I had been born healthy. Aaaaaaand now I'm crying, hahaha. Again, thank you. That was... something I never thought I'd see.
Hey. You sleep in the tent that you carry with you. You resupply food in towns along the trail.. sometimes 1-5 days carry each time... water reports give you info about how often and where you find water
ThaCapoDon wow! Can you share any pointers ax to how to and not to do's? I'm planning this but obese, diabetic, schizophrenic and have vertigo! I'm planning this alone!
I like how your focus was downward/trail dominant through most of your days, and blue sky begins to reveal itself toward the end of your trip. Keep holding your head up, there's a grand world out there!
Hey, I am 62 and just got off the PCT. I am telling you to chase your dreams and do it! Yes, it's hard but you can do so much more than you think! Good Memories, Good People, and Good Views. Mac thanks for working on the survey!
I'm only 16 years old and read the book 'Wild' written by Cheryl Strayed, but omg, when i saw this adventure, it has become dream to do for me! It looks such a nice, but dangerous adventure, given by Mother Earth!
@@fh5977 Haha sick you replied after 6 years. I was in the same boat as you 2 years ago. Do it next year. You won't regret it, trust this random stranger on the internet.
I hiked the Oregon section back in 1993, a superb journey on many levels that i think I'm still learning from. I met many good and generous people and had a real feeling of being rewarded for something. I can't afford to do such a trip for now but would love to go through Washington if I get the chance in future. Thank you for sharing this.
What a beautiful video of our gorgeous USA. May we always keep it beautiful and free; where everyone can enjoy Nature's gifts and the kindness of fellow beings.
Wish some of these shots were longer...especially at 2:24. I understand and appreciate the 'condensed experience' but many of these shots were really nice. I had to pause the video multiple times to really absorb the beauty. I can't wait to hike it this summer.
Thank you for sharing. I imagine folks stuck in life felt at ease for atheist a few minutes thanks to you. I'm currently heading up to the Crest... after I roll a few joints. Cougar trail/Big Bear 🐻 ♥
Class of '86 here - I spent 7 months doing the trail and had a little snow in WA. I loved it so much, I went on to do the AT, CDT (in 4 section hikes), the AZ trail and FL trail. I'm a westerner and probably a little biased, but the PCT is the best. The CDT is still a work in progress and has sections of pavement, 4x road and you'll see vehicles on it so the experience is diminished. Just do it if you can, I guarantee you will cherish the experience the rest of your life. See it before our wild areas disappear. Suggestions: go light and for heaven's sake don't be in a hurry. Your chances of a successful thru-hike and the pride that goes with it will be much better.
Thank You for the inspiration... The Deep Creek section runs within a mile of my back yard... I am planning a lot of day trips until the hub and I can afford a good 2 week trek up through the Sierras... I loved this so much. ( did a pretty good section hike of the AT but in the dead of winter.... BAD IDEA ) called it in Shenandoah Park.. I look forward to a bit of redemption ;-)
I come back to this video every once in a while to have a good cry. I recognize all of those places. The trail is hard but easy at the same time. All you gotta do is wake up early, go to bed late, eat top ramen every day and keep walking. But it changes you more than you realize it will before you go. You learn how to be nice to strangers and expect them to be nice to you in return. You learn to respect people asking for rides on the side of the road and give them when you can (I'm a girl so sometimes I don't unless I have a male passenger). You learn how to just keep truckin when everything about you hurts, and you can't help but cry, because you'll get used to it and you'll get better at it. You learn you can just sing at the top of your lungs in the middle of nowhere and no one cares. You might even learn to be alone if you go SOBO (southbound). You might even learn, as I did, that if you lose enough weight and wear a collared shirt and baseball cap, people will just confuse you for a small boy scout. SCORE! I'd recommend the experience to almost everyone.
This is beautiful.. I discovered the existence of the PCT reading Cheryl Strayed's book : Wild.. I hope that one day I'll be crazy enough to experience it ! Thanks for the cool video :)
thanks for sharing..... the only thing on my bucket list is to hike this trail. I've hiked bits of it over the past 8 years, but want to do the whole trail someday!!! thanks!!!
What a great experience. Congratulations!! Did one pair of boots last the whole trip? I have to share this with my 82 year old mom. She's a big hiker in the Rockies. She taught me love of hiking which led to a geology career and love of nature. I love that you show the trail. It's like being there. Thanks for sharing.
wow! honestly inspiring me to do it with a couple friends too!! its wild to me how the border with canada is so " chill" vs the border with mexico... not just physically but ideologically too
thankyou for such an inspirational refreshing positive adventurous video i appreciate and shared far and wide to give others a taste of what life is all about! getting out and about with mother nature enjoying our natural wonders of the world!Namaste☮️World Peace for Planet Earth.💜🌎🌺🌿🌈💙🌼🌏

J.M. Studios hell yeah! Have you hiked it yet? I'm planning 2019 to do this
iagree
@@deepdish2034 Did you do it?
@@calitaco I hiked on it but honestly hiked more on intersecting trails
Waiting for the right time just ends up making you put if off forever and then you're old and dying and crying because you never did the stuff you want in life.
It amazes me that the trail seems to be a maximum three feet wide. There's hardly even a "scar" on the earth for this beautiful path!
The trail creates little streams from all the foot traffic in which causes unnatural drainage of several areas
I just hiked the Pacific Coast Trail in 3 minutes. I gotta rest now.
😆😆
Lolz
I just typed this comment in 3 minutes and I'm pretty tired from that too so probably going to rest as well

Just finished the trail. Great feeling
Where do people sleep and get food from while they are there? Are there any animals that can attack you like bears?
ThaCapoDon my same question lol

Now THIS is living life to its fullest. Amazing!
Exceptional. Nothing I have seen captures the feeling of physically walking on that trail quite like this.
Things are so terrible right now. I came across this video and had a good cry at how beautiful life still can be. Thank you.
Oh my! The number of steps that have touched this path, gives me chills. It calls to me.
I've made this journey before, brings back memories. I can recall almost exactly where these shots were taken.
Best time of my life, grats.
