i love that you mentioned the fact that felix mimicked hyunjin while he was talking, great observation! it is actually a very known thing amongst the fandom that felix does that a lot, which he probably wasn’t aware of himself. we lovingly call it “felix see, felix do”, there’s entire compilations of clips of him doing that!

Hyunjin had to work really hard to develop his performance skills. He is aware that he was hired for his looks and wanted to be of more value to a group and himself than just a 'pretty face'. He's also very adamant that Felix needs to be protected at all costs and that he considers himself the best person to do it. He will occasionally trust Chan with Felix, but he's always close by to make sure that Felix is safe emotionally.
I agree,but Hyunjin is a really good dancer too.

My favourite reaction ever , analyzing my favourite video of Felix & Hyunjin together on 2 Kids Room - Felix X Hyunjin. This just solidifies the authenticity of them being soulmates for real.
while hyunjin puts himself down and criticizes himself in different ways, felix ALWAYS puts him up again, he always speaks words of affirmation, especially to hyunjin, han and changbin, i think that's really nice to see, it's nice to see that felix has no problem opening up and talking about his feelings for hyunjin and the other members. while hyunjin doesn't talk much and just being a good listener, felix is the one who talks the most, it really balances their relationship and makes them trust each other more and more.
I haven't actually gotten into Stray Kids, but I've watched these episodes and some other content, and watching them be so honest and vulnerable with each other has pretty much made me fall for them. This one is particularly special, and Han x Lee Know - which has one very soft moment that steals my breath.
In this one, when Felix is confessing the depth of his feelings in English - and he takes time to choose his words - I'm just blown away by his choice to be so open, not only to Hyunjin, but to the world. You give me another reason to live, you made me who I am, I can think too seriously about you so I think we need to just focus on being good friends - that's so much to share directly. I've felt that way about someone before.
I know now that Felix is a very loving and open person, but this is still such a special moment.
I'd actually love to see you try to puzzle out Han & Lee Know, because from what I've seen so far, they're both pretty unusual in how they communicate & interact with others. (I find them both delightful.)

Hiii!! I just found your videos and I must say, I love them so much! I'm also a psychologist (plus both ARMY and STAY) and these are so incredible for me, your reactions are so lovely!
I wanted to point out something else as well here, that Felix's native tongue is English. He was born and raised in Australia, he only got fluent in Korean after he debuted in SKZ, but in his early videos you can see he still had difficulty speaking/understanding some things. WHICH! This leads me to, when he tells Hyunjin "because of you, I feel like I have another reason to live" he's actually saying it in the tongue that hits himself deeply. Hyunjin jokes that he's glad he's saying it in English because to say it in Korean would be another level, but to Felix in that moment, while he was saying it, for him it was hitting the hardest, so it's even more meaningful (if that's even possible!). He knows that Hyunjin would react strongly to it (because that's just his personality), but I'm always amazed at the sincerity and genuineness of Felix at that moment. To me it also shows another layer of their relationship with each other, the understanding and common feel between the two and the way they know how to act when it comes to one another, while keeping it natural 💕
omg I’m crying 😢although I’ve seen this episode soooo many times and each time was so touched by their dynamic and relationship but hearing Uncle and Max analyzing their personalities and rationales behind those words just makes me appreciate their special relationship and their own personalities even more!!! Especially when you mentioned that they comfort each other and hyunjin being a super sensitive baby, he feels safe and is being open about his feelings to Felix cause he knows Felix will make him feel better. I love the analysis of hyunjin/Felix and of Lee know/Han from the other video! But also it made me curious when he mentioned that Felix seemed like he could be the leader, it made me wonder what he would say about Bang Chan since he’s actually the leader
I'm watching this for the second time and hearing you say "they mirror each other" made me remember a video I saw today of them being in two different countries and mirroring each other's movements and motions perfectly, in their different interviews. It might sound insane but it's more insane when you watch it.

Cuando yo veía imágenes que me aparecían en las redes de Félix, sin conocerlo de nada, me daba la sensación de ser un chico frívolo, como que todo era imagen. Nada más lejos de la realidad, es una persona reflexiva, amable, cariñosa, con una gran empatía, que va derrochando felicidad a su alrededor. Con razón Hiunjin le dice que es un ángel.
15:29-ish is the only real misread I see so far. But even that one is understandable when someone's viewing this without more familiarity with these people, with the particular culture, and possibly (since I don't know Uncle's background; maybe he's a former theatre kid or something) with the reality of being an artist and the daily necessity of stepping back and critically evaluating your performance to look for areas needing attention. In this instance, it's not self-deprecation to seek reassurance. It really is just their standard self-critical awareness as artists combined with the ethnic culture of overt humility. But it's understandably hard to get all that from a short clip viewed through a western cultural lens.
Felix is a rare breed. He is filled with love, compassion and empathy for all around him. We all need a Felix in our life. 🐥🌝💓

Felix is called “sunshine” for a reason. Some of the members like to playfully antagonize each other, but Felix seems to be the only one the group collectively protects, in return he’s kind and warm to every member. He’s clearly very appreciative of everything he’s been allowed to have and wants to show it back. One of the saddest kpop moments was when Felix was initially cut from stray kids and every member was inconsolable. He’s just a very genuine guy and loves all of his members, and like here doing everything he can to boost Hyunjin’s confidence and get him to put those shields down and really open up.
Besides I.N,even Felix gets defensive over him.Kinda scary how all of a sudden Felix turns alpha 😅
I feel like they all know that Felix is more sensitive, so they care for him and protect him. I remember in the Lee Know x Felix 2 kids room episode, they were taking about how Lee Know doesn’t joke around with Felix the way he does with the other members, especially Seungmin, because he knows Felix can’t handle it. He’ll take it more to heart than the other members do.

I think Felix's emotional IQ is pretty high considering that he has sisters as siblings. I think that plays a big part in him being emotionally receptive and understanding.
Oh my yessss!!!! I'm confident that Felix grew up into an emotionally intelligent man thanks to his family background. He has high EQ for a guy his age.
My brother has the lowest emotional IQ ever and all of his siblings are female 😭

The kids always surprise me with how down to earth and expressive they are with their thoughts and emotions. They are so insightful, especially for people their age. They know each other more than most groups know their members.

what makes me feel sentimental about this episode was that the implication of them going through very rough times and surviving it together by being each other’s emotional support. it hurts me to see them hurt but also makes me very proud of them for being mature & strong to endure those times.

I absolutely adore Felix and Hyunjin's friendship. I don't know Hyunjin's background, but I don't think it's as happy as Felix's obviously is with his big family and siblings. Hyunjin was talking to Stays once after their debut and literally broke down sobbing on stage. He talked about how hard they worked, and all they did was work hard and it didn't feel like enough. Bang Chan was by his side in a second, telling him he did so good, and the others all gathered around, touching him in reassurance or saying "It's all right". Hyunjin pleaded with Stays not to leave them. You could see the other members smiling a bit, not laughing at him, but just with fondness and love. Bang Chan (being the good leader/Dad figure he is) loudly proclaimed that Stays aren't going anywhere! Where would they go? The other members started yelling "Stays don't go!" The band members got the crowd to chant "Don't cry" for Hyunjin. It was so heartbreaking but also sweet and loving all at the same time. Much later, at one of the Maniac concerts and also talking to Stays, Hyunjin said some pretty revealing things. "I'm not used to receiving love. I used to think I didn't deserve it, and would wonder why you like me. I still don't know." And then he started crying. He asked "Why do you like me? Of course I like being loved, and that's why I've decided to be stronger. I don't want my existence to become painful to you (the Stays)." He went on to say, through his tears "To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm doing well. As time passes, everything feels so precious to me, including our time. I'm so proud of this team. I love that we are chasing our dreams together." He is a very sensitive soul, as you note here, and for whatever reason, it's hard for him to think of himself as being worthy of love. I'm so, SO glad for the group and their close friendship/family bond they've created. ALL of the members have had moments of breaking down and crying, and then you really get to see the others step up and be there. There isn't even a hint of mockery, just wholesome support and love. I think that's one of the reasons this group is so strong and has such a strong bond with their fans as well. I would love to get your Uncle's insights into Bang Chan and his role as leader/parent. I know we joke in the fandom about him being a Dad, but it's not really a joke. He's the one there first whenever any of them need him. He's always dispensing the Dad wisdom and being supportive.
I would just like to make a correction re your analysis of Hyunjin not having a happy childhood, based on him breaking down during one of their concerts. There was a reason for him breaking down during that concert. I remember watching that particular video and it was taken right after their main vocalist Woojin left. Everyone was going thru so much pressure coz they were in the middle of promotions and set to release new songs in a few weeks time, and Woojin was their main vocalist! 😬I can only imagine the stress they were all going thru. They had to resked the launching of CLE : Levanter, had to redo the songs and the choreography for a new lineup to fit 8 members, and it needed to be done in a few short weeks. 😬 They were basically all just teenagers at that point, with the exception of Bang Chan, and to have been working so hard to debut and equally hard to make a mark once you debut, to have a member with a very important position suddenly just leave when you're starting to make a mark in your career, and in the middle of promoting your new songs - that was so devastating for them! 😞 And Hyunjin we know is a very sensitive soul, so he tried at first to put on a brave front talking to the audience, how they had all worked so hard to debut, but then admitted that his thoughts were all jumbled up and really just couldn't contain his emotions any more and broke down and cried. Though he didn't address the issue of Woojin directly, everyone there knew what he was talking about, and the reason why he broke down. 😞 I don't know if you've watched his older vlogs with his family and his dog Kkami, but if you haven't you'll see he is very happy and playful, and very loved by his family. 😊 He was also very close to his grandfather, who gave him the crucifix that he was wearing all the time during their earlier years, and lately I've seen him wearing it again in a few videos, after his grandfather passed away.

love both of your analysis and I feel the uncle has it right. Felix does very well commanding a room. He talks many times the most at their concerts along with their leader Bang Chan. He helps out a lot for his age being the 3 youngest member. I also thinks it is more than just because he is an English speaker and more to do with he can not only read a person but he can also read a room to know what is needed when he takes control. He is very aware of what he is saying and sometimes to much that it can seem scripted when it may not be. He also knows how to put others at ease very quickly and genuinely cares about others first before him self.
Hyunjin is a primarily self-taught artist who visits art museums and art galleries in all of the countries / major cities they travel to. Having a creative outlet helps him de-stress.
His techniques, subject matter and confidence have improved greatly over the last few years. When he gave Felix that first painting, that was more toward the beginning of his journey as an artist, so his nervousness was very understandable.
But the other part of the equation is that these two Stray Kids members have a very close friendship, and Felix's opinion matters greatly to Hyunjin. When Felix reacted positively and displayed the painting so proudly and prominently on his wall, it gave Hyunjin confidence to keep expressing himself through art.
RE: the rings......unfortunately, Hyunjin lost his matching rings during a concert and was quite upset about it. There's video footage of him searching around the stage after the performance, but sadly, he never found them.
RE: their friendship / his friendship with the other members and the warm feelings that flow all around them..........keep in mind that Felix, although Korean, grew up in Australia and his first language is English. He didn't know how to speak Korean when he arrived there to train as an idol, and in fact he was eliminated from the group in the beginning, primarily because he was having such a difficult time learning the language. Later, he was given a second chance to re-join the group and the other members took it upon themselves to MAKE SURE that Felix learned not only from his language tutors, but also from them. They helped him with vocabulary and correct usage, etc. In return, he helped the SKZ members who are not so proficient in English. So they mutually benefited from that experience. And that's a huge part of why Felix feels SO incredibly grateful for and close to the other members. If it weren't for them, he would have been sent back to Australia.
Primarily? 😂😂 I would say so. The man had one single class on each of the mediums just so he could learn what components were needed for each of them. Then he never went back.🤭
Need to correct about the ring, he still has it^^ he bought a new pairs and before he got the new one, felix actually offered him to share the rings with him for a while (there’s a video of someone asking him about it)

Surprisingly, this brought tears to my eyes, cause it's so refreshing and heartwarming to see them bond that genuinely and deeply as friends/family. They're each other's safe space, and that's so precious!
Felix is an amazing person, and I think his role in maintaining a good relationship between members might be bigger than we think

This is my favorite episode of 2 Kids Room, and so I am so glad you and your uncle did a video on it.
Another thing about their relationship. Hyunjin is such a deep thinking and introspective person (e.g. he spends a LOT of time thinking before doing a painting, or even a solo performance). Felix is more of an extrovert and very open (clearly). So that really helps Felix draw Hyunjin out too.
Hoping you both do a 2 Kids analysis with Bang Chan soon. It'd be fun to see what your uncle thinks of their actual (amazing) leader. Might be cool to do the one with Chan and Felix to see that other side of Felix, but any would be cool.

21:07 perfectly said, i’m so glad jype introduced this concept. every 1/2 years they gather in couples or groups to discuss the development of their relationships, sometimes in a playful way, sometimes it gets emotional. fans get to know their dynamics, personalities and believes on a deeper level (if the members are comfortable doing that, since they get to set the pace of the convo) and the members themselves take it as a chance to let their friends know how important they are to each other, to resolve conflicts they may have had in the past and simply goof around

Uncle Harley needs to react to Bang Chan being in his "father of 7 kids" role. If he is so fond of Felix that he could see him in a leading role, he really needs to see Bang Chan in his leading role!!

This was such a great video! I loved seeing you both analyze this 2 kids room, especially because I think this one got very deep with the appreciation these two have for one another. Max, I would definitely recommend you check out the episode with Hyunjin and I.N or Felix and I.N to see more of this side from them. Hyunjin tends to be more playful when it comes to the younger members and I would love to see you react to how his demeanor changes around I.N, it’s very sweet! The episode with Felix and I.N is also a good one because I.N seems very comfortable with Felix and as you both said in this video, Felix just has a really warm presence and loves to make the people around him feel good. I.N is more on the introvert side and doesn’t typically show a lot of physical affection but I’d love to see you explore some of his 2 kids room episodes to see what your analysis on him is!
I feel like Felix gives that support to Hyunjin but then receives the support from Changbin, who then receives the support from Hyunjin.
For me, from the moment I discovered Stray Kids, I found a group of very emotionally intelligent people who care deeply for each other and it’s beautiful

I love the 2 kids room series for the fact that we can actually see their dynamic with each other. It has always surprised me how these boys interact there is not a single bone of competition between them, they let each other shine and are always so supportive. Maybe due to the fact that they didn't need to compete against each other during their survival show their goal was to debut together and that no one would get left behind. Felix is one of the most supportive ones with the way he makes sure everyone feels loved and appreciated I've always seen him give compliments so freely and openly he has so much love to give. I really genuinely enjoy your analysis with Uncle Harley, I would love to see him watch a Changbin one with another member. i always look forward to your Stray Kids contents 😁

At around 17:00 when you talk about Hyunjin accepting Felix' compliment, what Hyunjin literally says is "But thats too much/big of a compliment (lit. overcomplimenting me)", but still I think in this case hyunjin is taking the kind words in more than Felix.

4:30 Hyunjin is my bias & also coincidentally the member I relate to the most! We're both INFP's, too, which I think kind of explains some of the way he relates to the world

I just love what the kids bring to each other, it is so heartwarming. I really want you to react to Hyunjin x Changbin kids room. I feel like these two have a special bond and since debut, they are really close. Hyunjin gives a different vibe with Changbin by his side. Changbin has played a big role in Hyunjin' journey.
When uncle Harley asked if Felix was the leader, I immediately thought of Max first interview with the Stray Kids.

I think you would particularly appreciate episodes 8 and 9 of skz code to see some fun dynamics in a particular setting. Changbin and Bangchan, Hyunjin and Seungmin, Lee Know and Felix and Han and I.N are teamed in a haunted school, and these are some of my favorite skz code episodes.
Stray Kids really chose each other and consider themselves like brothers. This is why it is so sad and disgusting to me people imagining they are couple or whatever.

Their bond is honestly so sweet. Because you see stuff like hyunjin saying he needs to take care of lix and protect him and going on and on about how kind and sweet lix is that it surprises him and you see him consciously taking care of lix but then you see stuff like this how lix really meant it when he said he wants to give hyunjin love because that seems to be an important emotion for him. The way you see how protective hyunjin is of lix and then you see how much lix wants to protect him just as much. How important it is to all of them to make each other feel safe and loved is so sweet.
Also I hope you guys watch their old 2 kids room too even if you don’t react to it because it’s really cute. Hyunjin wasn’t as shy back then or well closed off more accurately so I think you’ll find that interesting too.

Usually I thought Felix is the one who seems to look insecure sometimes, and Chan and Changbin are his safe blankets, but here (I didn't realize before when I watched this episode by myself) he is the one more encouraging to the other(Hyunjin).
Maybe all those different dynamics between members shows why all of them are needed to complete SKZ and why they can keep improving in many ways and areas.
In any case it always shows that they (all skz) care about and trust each other a lot and they naturally show their affection and trust to each other by saying and doing.

Even though this is 4 months old, but Hyunjin really is an INFP (16 personalities myers-briggs). Felix being an ENFP (which apparently INFPs and ENFPs get along extremely well).
Watching this kids room between Felix and Hyunjin - I can relate to Hyunjin a lot (as I am an INFP myself) and as I am observing him and hearing the commentary, there are things that Hyunjin does that I do too. We are hesitant and stand-offish when it comes to engaging in conversation with others. When you put a conversation in front of us that we are passionate about, our personality flips and we become very enthralled and enthusiastic. When it comes to gifts, this is a HUGE expression of our admiration of someone. For the fact that Hyunjin gave Felix one his own paintings speaks VOLUMES.
INFPs are naturally shy and hesitant to show their true selves to people. Often wearing masks in public. Showing our creative arts to others, even less so. Having the confidence to give a piece of our artwork to someone EVEN LESS then less so. So this gesture tells me that Hyunjin really respects and admires the heck out Felix. That he feels comfortable enough to be bold and gift Felix his own art. Which, again, for INFPs to drop the mask and do something bold like that, is extremely rare.
There are other little cues that I am picking up (such as love for flowers/nature), INFPs are known for putting value on everything before making a decision, assessing the situation and knowing which of my personality will come out depending on who I am with or how that other person acting, highly-self critical (the self-depreciating humour), conflict avoiders, highly emotional, highly sensitive, when arguing with another person I need space to calm down because emotions are so heightened, and among others, that tells me that Hyunjin really is an INFP.
I don't know if you've seen that video of Hyunjin working on the painting he gave Jeongin for his birthday? Guess what he painted? Flowers! 😄He worked so long and kept changing the background colour til he was satisfied and even researched on Jeongin's birth flower and included it in the painting, giving it prominence right in the middle of the other flowers. 🥰 Jeongin was so pleased with the painting, especially with the inclusion of his birth flower, which he admitted he didn't even know til Hyunjin told him! 😄

Thank you for this reaction! I have been waiting for this and I'm so grateful that you did it. I agree that Hyunjin is really sensitive and very humble. Felix is a sunshine. He's very kind and caring. They are my favorite duo. Their friendship warms my heart. They used to talk for hours about very deep topics.
By the way, about mimicking, there's a saying in Stayville "Felix sees, Felix does". He , usually subconsciously, copies other members' movements and it's so endearing to see. :D

Felix instinctively mimics everyone. I think it is why people gravitate and feel naturally comfortable with him. Just my opinion.

This is so cool, they are such beautiful people and I think the only way they could be any closer, is if they were actually brothers in real life. They have the type of deep friendship that i've had with friends and we've been friends for over 40yrs since the age of 4yrs old. So I'm really happy that they have someone in their life they can turn to. Great analysis guys.
This is rather old (!). They are men now and definitely different. You should have used the more recent shows where they are all going places by themselves. Hyunjin is touring art galleries and still gets upset if he overspends. He concentrates on looking like a man now. Plus, he was, literally picked off the street with him mom because of his looks. He is the lead dancer and if you watch people who teach and direct dance you will find that he is the most emotional dancer and loves to connect with the audience. He knew nothing about any of this, except his swimming competitions, and had to learn to sing and dance at a late age. So, he is constantly told his 'talent' is looking handsome/pretty. He has had way less plastic surgery than Felix.
Felix wanted to dance and sing and be an idol. In his younger years, he was also a martial arts champion. He is Korean but born in Australia and his grandparents gave him the name he uses now, Yongbok, when he moved to Korea and had to learn to speak it. On a recent solo trip, his entire talking was, "Oh, I'm so afraid." "This is fun but it would be better with the members." "I have to bring the other members to see this, they would love it." "Well now I'm confused." (Compared to Hyunjin who had to change plans suddenly and sailed through it, and got a bit lost once but handled it well and found the right way.) Felix has had quite a bit of work done (check it out on RUclips by real plastic surgeons) and is still very childish although he now looks like the man he is. On rare occasions, he can deal well with one-on-one talking and does very well. But you are judging someone who would normally be unable to sit still and is easily embarrassed. And we love him for it. Plus he says that to everyone. He needs to hear it back.
I feel it is difficult for both of you to jump in and analyze two older teens over award-winning young men who now model and represent major brands (Felix has his own now, too) and no longer live with the other 6 in one place. This year (2023) has seen a lot of change. Actually, Hyunjin has matured the most of the 8. He is an excellent artist and his work has been used on the m/v sets. Plus, they all drink now and recently we were told how alcohol affects each member. Interesting. And they have driver's licenses.
Changbin has finally found his 'thing' and has really come into his own this year. It is so exciting to see him become an outgoing man willing to share. (People have called him ugly, which he certainly is not.) The leader is Bang Chan and he is truly a father to all of them. On stage, when each member is doing a solo, he looks at them like a father watching his son. He even tears up and thumps his chest and looks around like, "See him? See him? That's my boy!"
Just recently, Han admitted that he lied a lot about his sad childhood to be accepted. He apologized and stepped up. During a current interview, he wasn't kidding around and talked about the songs he has written and wants to produce more.
Mea culpa...I'll go. I've spent years watching them. I feel like a proud grandmother (I'm 77).

Also the fact that they switched to English. Hyunjin knows the hard time Felix had in learning Korean and that his difficulty almost costed him his place in the group, so he wants to make him more comfortable while talking even though he is not so fluent in English. Hyunjin probably understands Felix’s english the best because he is used to that, but Felix respects Hyunjin’s sacrifice and talks slower to make him understand.

First, I want to say that I love this video as a whole and definitely want to hear more from Uncle Harley. I'm not sure how much of the [hours and hours available on RUclips, etc] footage he has seen to get a full sense of dynamic. Through his skill (part talent and part training), he already recognizes some of this from even just this video. If he watches a lot more of them, and I hope he does, he can't not fall in love with them (as if it were possible not to love them). I think that the reality show aspect was genius because it gave a look into the true selves, creating a view that lets us love them for them and not only for their incredible talent on stage. One element in the analysis that I found neglected is the unconsciousness of how they treat each other, that it is so genuine that there is no motive. I recognize that the analyst did not mean it this way, but motive could be interpreted as manipulative, however positive and well intentioned. Though it would be something each genuinely wants, I really believe that Sunshine Felix provides from his nature, not fully conscious intention. He wants others to know their value, that they are heard and loved, but it is so natural. And Hyunjin gives his own self in sincerity from his own special place within him. Felix is special, and however modest he is, he knows his power and allows himself to be the vehicle of love, safety, and kindness that is needed. He doesn't let his own insecurity keep him from loving. And just as he provides himself as a warm blanket of safety, the others recognize him and share the sense of importance to protect their dear Felix. *sigh* All of the members are so special in their own way, so different from each other but bonded. It is beautiful to see. But Felix is from another planet and this world needs more "Sunshine" in it. 🌞 [sorry not sorry for the long comment--I got triggered]
Oh I'm only 6 min in and already said to myself "awh I love Felix more"!! 😭 I was contemplating whether or not to really dive into SKZ, as I feel guilty to my BIGBANG oppas, yeah I'm a dinosaur VIP lol but Felix & Hyunjin had been snatching my wigs too often! I loved seeing what great friends they are and Felix telling Hyunjin how important he is in his life. You can tell how much they care about each other.
