Why is it the protagonists of these things never seem to realize that walking around a darkened room with a lighted match is tantamount to shouting "Here I am!" ?
I met Bret Hall (writer/director/man in chair) today and he told me to look this up, to be honest I thought it would be a typical low budget laughable short. I'm sorry for doubting Bret this was really cool. Also that bandana is part of his normal attire, it's pretty cool.
Is it just me, or is it impossible to believe someone wouldn't grab SOMETHING, ANYTHING in these situations. She's in a kitchen, and she grabs matches, but not a knife. Not even a cheese grater! Grate that bastard! A garlic press! ANYTHING! Aside from that, it seemed like part of a larger piece that might give some insight into the guy and the monster. A mellon baller! Good God!
Good and creepy. At least I can see everything. Used to date a law student I knew that I remembered that word. Just wondering why her and what the back story is.
It's an awesome short and brilliantly shot, acted and scored. But I'd like to see more horror entities take their rage out on some evil paedophile somewhere instead of an outwardly innocent, lone woman just minding her own biz. Can't Dolus get up in the face of a rapist or abuser and eat holes in them? But honestly, this is excellent. It's like Dumbledore got nasty.
Sorry, didn't like it. Because of toom any unanswered questions you put in my head. Who is the guy coming from the sky? No answer (stating that he's a supernatural entity is not enough). Why he chose the woman? No answer (if this guy does this to the random people, at least we should know that by a news or something). Why is the woman scared at the start? No answer (if she knows about this supernatural entity, how?). Why is the man over the phone so weird? No answer (there is no sign of issues with connection, so it should not be the case). What happened to the woman exactly? No answer (killed? why that creature drag it? or what else happened?). And last but not least, what is the meaning or message of this short? What is moral of the story? No answer (that's my main reason for not being satisfied).
My favorite part was the creature extinguishing the match from above 😂

It was too dark in some scenes to see what was going on. I believe her hubby dabbled in the dark arts, in order to remove his wife from his life.
