Thanks a lot, that is brilliant. I wondered how to get imported graphics and things into Freecad to create tool paths from. This really helped a lot and I'll definitely look at your patreon as soon as I have finished building my machine. At the moment my build seems to be a bottomless pit that swallows all my money. Your channel is unique and really deserves all success.

Thank you! I'm glad if it helps. I know about the bottomless pit that swallows all the money. And time. I've been at it for over 2 years and still have a lot of things to solve to call it a good machine. But it gets the job done for now.

That is not practical. I'd much rather get the graphics done in Inkscape, and resolve such overlaps and self-intersections there, then import an SVG into FreeCad

That's a solution, too, of course, but some don't know how to use inkscape. That's why I searched for a solution using only FreeCAD. Anyways, using the macro's makes the operation pretty quick

@@opensourcecnc These are the 2 things that I need, actually: Knowing how to create a VCarve from an arbitrary SVG, and knowing how to create a 3D surface (Experimental) from an arbitrary STL

I'll take a look into those 2 scenarios and maybe make some videos, but, at a first glance, creating vcarve out of a random SVG, that wasn't created for vcarve won't yield good results without modifications. Also, to me 3d surface works horrible in FreeCAD for now, incredibly slow, I'm using blender cam for that

@@opensourcecnc Very Interesting! Never heard of Blendercam. It looks promising
