Man I remember the first time I went searching for lobbies. I ended up finding a super sweet in n out burger and a chocolate shake. The Trader Joe’s chicken is a close second.
No joke I was JUST there a couple nights ago and went to reach for a hole when an eel popped out to stare me down. I didn’t even think about them beforehand, thanks for the tip!
get a bait cage and weight it down next to the jetty. fill with dead CUT UP mackerel or sardine. wait 20 minutes then check it out. really hard to catch bugs in the daytime without bait
You think the bait cage will be effective even in the day time? Or would it be better to wait for night? Also would you just use the bait to lure them out and still grab them by hand? Or use a whole trap? Thanks for the tips BTW!
@@Daltons_Advantures night time will always be the best for lobster. they spend their days laid up in the rocks but the bait cage could coax them out if it's close to the rocks. Grab em if you can. I''m not sure about putting a trap then diving to check it....something you might want to check with Fish and Game. Check out Quivera Way. Lots of your fellow divers park there and then walk out onto the opposing jetty. Squidco sells a cheap bait cage and you can get some mackerel there or catch it yourself. the bait cages do bring out the stingrays so watch out
Yeah good point, I’ll need to check the legality of that strategy Thanks for all the info! If i end up giving it a whirl I’ll definitely document the process!
Great adventure either way! I'm also on that beer budget and been wanting to get out in SD for some lobster diving. Have you tried any other spots like La Jolla or Sunset Cliffs?
Greetings from Coastal Central California is my Van Life home base and yesterday Panda Express Kung Pao. I will have to try Traders and enjoy / stay safe Mobile Outdoors Lifestyle💪😎👍

Hahah in n out is basically the lobster of land anyway
Bro, go at night and also watch out for the Moray Eels

I’m in San Diego and snorkel there all the time, you need a light and look under the boulders there are tons of lobster 👍
Good to know! I’ve gone at night with a flashlight, but never really though about bringing one during the day
I’ll try again soon, thanks for the tip!
@@Daltons_Advantures need weights on you too.. look like your surfacing way too quickly.
I here for the kung pow from Trader Joe’s 😋😋
Haha it wasn’t fresh caught, but it was definitely tasty 😁
Exactly what I needed this morn! Some good ole adVANtures!
Merci beaucoup!

06:25 - Wow! that was an amazing find!
😂😂 I was lucky indeed
Welp that jetty is going to be busy the next couple of weeks.
Yeaaah it’s especially busy at the start of lobster season
That spot is super pressured already man, the #1 beginners spot in SD to dive for bugs
Endless Summer in So Cal 🏖️ 🌊 ☀️ ❤
You know it! 💪💪
Not many lobsters at the jetty this season, bunch of babies.

Thank you kindly! I’ve heard good things about a couple La Jolla spots, those are most likely my next stop. Have you been before?

Haha tough to beat kung pao on the road! Thank you for the support! Safe travels to you as well 🤙
Huh? Well, that was kooky. That place is loaded with bugs.
Yeaaaah I know haha, I’m still trying to figure it out
