Lunchables at school. A perfect transition to MREs after graduating.
Uncle Sam is so proud
And the kids who ate lunchables grew up to become Charcuterie board enthusiasts.
Who still love a lunchable from time to time lol
….indeed
@@TurbulenttJuice I do...
Accurate!!😂
Yes
Lunchables + Capri Sun =Good ol Starter pack for the school lunch ;)
Truth
Agree
Though sad news now there's a discovery about Lunchables having high salt, lead and Cadmium in them and now the schools are pulling these out. Anyway really check that out or Google and RUclips all about it.
When I was little I'd spread the pizza sauce with one of the pepperoni slices as it was less messy for the fingies.
Makes sense
I grew up in the 2000s and I spread the sauce with the packet lol
A little red plastic stick used to come with the pizza lunchable so you could spread your sauce with it. They stopped doing that in the early 2000's :(
I remember spreading with both the pepp and the sauce packet. Maybe the malnutrition made me unable to pay attention, not the “ADD”. Oh well
I can't believe people ate the pizza ones
Man I remember being the cool kid whenever I had the pizza lunchables in elementary lol
Yesssss these were my favorite. Felt like a little chef
These were usually too expensive for us growing up, but when we got them we were ecstatic lol.
These were our field trip meals lol
I loved the pizza Lunchables growing up, and I do remember that little red plastic stick to spread the sauce. Even the sauce packet was real "Tombstone" sauce. I would have one for lunch about every other day back when I was in kindergarten and first grade 1995-1997. My mom would even make me egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches too. I do miss those days growing up. I haven't eaten a Lunchables in years. I miss the Mega Lunchables when I was close to being a teenager in the early 2000s. They don't make them like they used to be, in my opinion at least.
The nachos Lunchable was my favorite as a kid.
When my son was little, he called them "tiny chips" and still loves them to this day. And he's 24 now. Still loves his tiny chips, LOL. Although he doesn't call them that anymore, but they are still his favorite Lunchable snack.
Same with me
I got those all the time. I stopped for a good long while and I got back on them for a time when I was in HS.
Nostalgia time. Ah, Lunchables, especially the pizza ones. I remember these in the 90s. I remember when there was special Pokémon contest on the packages Pokémania. The 90s and early 2000s were fun times.
Especally if you were a wrestling fan during either "the monday night wars" or the "Ruthless agresson era"
That was my favorite one as a kid! I ate them until 2010. Haven't had any since but the nostalgia is kicking in!
@@dabking94.19 Pizza, Taco, and hot dog were my favorites
I always got the nachos.
I wasn’t going to watch this until I just read that dangerously high levels of lead and plastic were found in Lunchables. The study just came out less than 24 hrs ago, but curious if anything is mentioned here. I used to eat those all the time when I was kid. Everyone in my elementary school had them for lunch. Yuck!
Go get screened for lead. Unless you work with lead for a living I sincerely, sincerely, doubt you're going to have an elevated level of lead in your system.
Either this channel works fast or it’s an awkward coincidence
Consumer Reports found that Lunchables, along with similar lunch and snack kits from other brands, contained potentially concerning levels of lead, phthalates, and sodium. This was on Apr 11, 2024
If lunchables were unhealthy in the 90s, just imagine how much more unhealthier they are now.
Well now it really just went to really bad and you can Google and RUclips all about it with bad things like lead, high salt and cadmium.
Actually, you be wrong they’re actually healthier than they were
Just have a crap ton of sodium now
@@Hayden-tp4cb Really doubt about that reply since the news story of the lead and cadmium in there as well.
@@Hayden-tp4cb Really not reassuring there and also has that lead and cadmium along with other harmful issues to worry about.
I think the Lunchables all star burgers were the absolute apex of Lunchables technology.
those and the Taco Bell ones
Sometimes o cry in remembrance
The nachos with cheese dip. Then they started coming out with one that would provide a cola with it. Best.
I remember when Lunchables were first released, they came with a garlic-herb sauce packet, which tasted great. I wish I could find that sauce now, for not just todays Lunchables, but for other recipes.
I loved that too and the mustard sauce. It seems everyone else forgot about the sauces. These things got me through college 😂
Oh yeah! I forgot about those.
I was too old for this but... I ate them anyway. So did you.
Not me, but my kids did.
i barely ate them as an actual kid, because my mom didnt buy them. but as a 18-30 year manchild learning to be an adult i ate a lot of lunchables.
now ive graduated to actually cooking my own meals, especially to save money but also to reduce waste and plastics that I consume
The pizza ones still hit😂
Haha I wasn't too old but I still randomly buy one when I see them at store a couple times a year
“Was”? I ate one last week lol
Still waiting for the adult version of this, same food just add a couple beers 😂
I see them at the store all the time. Usually just made with fancy salamis and cheese.
It's called an MRE! Nice!
it's called a charcuterie board. 😂
I still buy pizza lunchables 😂😂😂😂😂😂 just order a subpar pizza and drink some pbr.
Lol fair plan
I absolutely hate these stupid things with a passion, they are such a scam. I sent my kids to school with cheese, crackers and ham in a baggy and called it a homemade lunchable and I could do it 50x for the price of 5 of there products.
@loadedhot1034. Killjoy! I suppose you made your own version of a happy meal, too.😅
@@amyrussell860 Pretty sure people like him would say that have certainly done that. Its so pretentious
seriously. i didn't realize until i had my own rent and bills to pay just how ridiculously expensive they are for such little food! and even as a kid, i would still be hungry after finishing one. they tasted/taste horrible compared to something you could make way cheaper with bread & deli meat. and those pizzas are an abomination that in no way even remotely taste like an actual pizza.
Still buy them for a lazy fend for yourself night 😅
My brother in Christ you are a year older than me go cook dinner for your kids or file your 401k
I'm 31 and still love eating the nacho, pizza and bologna and cheese ones..mini burgers and tacos are amazing also. Every 90s kid will always love these!!!
Morning everyone. Time for some nostalgia!
I remember lunchables. I also remember when soda came with them too.
The soda ones were like getting a fine bottle of wine lol
Damn, Lunchables were my childhood.
My favorites were the pepperoni pizza, taco, and nacho ones, but I regularly had the mini burger and mini hot dog ones too.
I miss the Dijon mustard and Andes mint chocolate they’d include. Really sophisticated. I still get lunchables every now and then.
"The healthest ingredient in Lunchables is the Napkin." 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Loved those. The go to ultimate field trip lunch for when you couldn't afford certain food on field trips like universal studios, Disney and SeaWorld for that lunchables are the goat
I remember getting a Lunchable decades ago had to be about before September 98 and on the back were the original Pokemon me and my brothers were confused because we never seen such strange creatures before
My mom got Lunchables for my siblings and me in the early '90s before they got famous. I stopped eating them when I got into my later teens during the rest of the '90s. They've got some crazy stuff in them now.
Ur mom is a fool
When I have to stay in a hotel out of town for a couple days, I fill the little fridge with Lunchables and pinot grigio. And I've never regretted it. Worst time I ever had was stuck in my hotel room for two days on acid at a festival in Austin and forgot the Lunchables.
my guilty pleasure is Banana moon pies on acid
Anyone else wondering if any of the kids featured in the commercials are watching this video?
Are you in the any of the commercials?
@@BFRIZZLE909 noo. I'm not even American.
Dang it no I wasn't, but now I kinda am.😂
Oh GOD, as a kid I thought those burger + hot dog Lunchables were the pinnacle of luncheon meals 🤢 And the dessert ones (brownie, cookie, s'mores) were just the cherry on top.
Ah Lunchables, charcuterie boards for kids. I loved the mini hot dogs
I remember that short lived deep dish pepperoni pizza lunchable that came with a freaking soda! What a time to be alive kid. My god i was a fat kid growing up lmao!
I was an adult when Lunchables came out. I still bought them for myself to have for a snack.
They still make lunchables here in Britain, I remember when they appeared as a kids food in the 90’s though they’ve stuck around. This is probably because of how popular they are as an office/buffet food. If you’re having a company meeting it’s easy to just get a load of these and place them out.
I still eat these but I remember when I was a kid. I had the nachos and pizza and they came with the soda. I remember the nachos being a little spicey too.
I really don't get the adult fascination with these. You'd have to eat about four or five of them to get full, and they're about 5 times the cost of the food that's in them. If you're a young adult trying to get a foothold in the working world, you're buying crackers, ham and cheese and making your own Lunchables for a small fraction of the price. That is if you still have the palate of a 7-year old.
In the late 90s & early 00s if you had a lunchable, you were the coolest kid in class
The deluxe version came with an Andy's mint and squeezable mustard. Very deluxe
Many old enough would remember that many Lunchables came with mints.I remember my mom coming home with a huge bag full of mints one time. We always had Lunchables too.
the timing of this in my recommended is so good
Lunchables were launched a few yrs before I was born.
I always got the Lunchables nachos growing up (did try a couple of the pizza ones, but those weren't as appealing). I stopped eating them for a good long while before I got back on them for a time during HS. Haven't had them since.
I'd give anything for an old school "deluxe" lunchable with the herb sauce thing in it.
Never took them to school, but ate them very often as a midday snack! 😮😂❤
I took just two to school, both times during elementary school. I always got the nachos.
That would be my supper on several occasions. I wasn't poor btw. It was my personal choice.
Pizza stick dunkables were awesome.
My now adult kids occasionally tease me that I was SUCH a negligent parent for buying these for them in the 90’s-2000’s….and I kind of agree…the kids survived, but so has my guilt
My dad got them for me and I turned out fine. Long as kids are active it won't hurt
I remember the Pizza Treatza Lunchable… Gods I miss those the most.
I know what you mean with a majority of Luncheble consumers being adults, my younger sister is 27 and she likes those Lunchables pizzas!
I love Lunchables. I buy them to take to work for afternoon snacks.
The pizza lunchables we're my favorite.
They still sell them
They really buried the LEAD with this one, eh?
Holy Nostalgia! I remember eating these on and off as a kid! The Pizza one was my favorite. Ate them until 2010 and havent had one since. Good times!
That was somewhat how I was, only I got the nachos. I got them all the time as a kid. I stopped for several yrs before going back to them for a time during HS. If not 2010, 2009 was when I stopped for good.
Never had Lunchables as a lunch substitute, but I did eat a ton of that stuff as "snacks" lol
When I was in the third grade, my class raised a bunch of money so that we could travel from San Antonio to Houston and go to the NASA space center (we even rode on charter buses and not the yellow school bus to make the trip). I remember going to HEB the night before to get my lunchable and I saw the brand new glorious Deep Dish Pizza Lunchable (which used to come with a square shaped pizza dough) and a very cool can of Capri Sun; this of course became my lunch of choice for this epic field trip and my classmates were astonished when I pulled this out during the lunch hour.
The U.S. Army kept having requests from Soldiers to have pizza MREs. They didn’t know how to make it work. The best they could do was a pizza you could assemble. The biggest critics made comments about how the MRE is meant to be “Ready-to-eat”. They didn’t want the Soldiers to have a lunchable on the battlefield. Having to assemble their pizza on the go. I thought that was an interesting analogy. They’ve now made a complete, ready-to-eat pizza that isn’t great but isn’t horrible.
Where did they come from? On the west coast they came from Fullerton Foods. A former Claussen Pickle plant that has since been demolished.
Growing up in a lower income household, the only times I experienced lunchables was if a friend offered yo share theirs with me.
But, that was also back in the days of subsidized school lunch programs. And school lunches at Kahuku were pretty awesome.❤
How could you forget the best one? Nachos of course lol
My favorite Lunchables!
When these came out my Private School offered them as an item we could purchase in the cafeteria along with Hot Pockets and various other meal options. I would buy one at breakfast and snack on it during the early part of the day
I'm pushing 40 and still snack on em😂
As a kid, I was all about the Tacos version
Kind of wish I knew about Lunchables when I was little, because the food at my school was not very good [to the point I was a very skinny kid because I wouldn't eat at school]. I know Lunchables aren't healthy, but at least they taste good. If we want people to eat healthier, we need to start with making healthy food [especially school food] taste good. Green Giant has recently came out with dino-shaped veggie tots and I think that is genius. Also, make more healthy food mascots that are memorable, as the only health food mascots that come to people's mind are The Green Giant and The California Raisins.
Lol I used to eat the taco, hot dog, and hamburger ones. As an adult now I can’t believe my mom actually bought those 😂😂. But my favorite was (and still is) the pizza and YES I remember the stick! I also remember some came with a soda too. Ahh the 90s 😊
The stackers are wonderful for people like me who have had gastric bypass. We get hungry every few hours but can only eat small amounts of things at a time, and it needs to be some sort of protein. The turkey and american cheese are perfect for eating just enough to keep going, but not too much. And I get to give the Reese's to my boyfriend.
I loved the pizza one. I still do lol. Every so often I’ll get the ham and cheese cracker lunchable, even though I’m 30
I remember the lunchable hot dog, it came with a drink which was a soda, I think they had a burger version too but eventually the soda was replaced by caprisun. I like the nacho Lunchables
Lunchables are the perfect boat snack!
I remember those mini hamburger lunchables. cold and terrible, now i want one again.
Born in 97 grew up eating lunchables and didn't get them all the time they were expensive and still are lol but they're a great little treat once in a while
Beefsticks. A staple in every gas station and market checkout, but when did they become so prevalent? How did the modern beefstick come about? Are they unhealthy or a valid form of protein?
Genuinely unhealthy
I remember the chicken dunks, and the burgers with the cola. Man..they were GREAT! I remember I once I got an extra burger patty and made a double burger lol
As an adult there was one I can't think of who put it out but it was a hogie roll with roast beef, bbq sauce, mayo that you zapped in a microwave for a min. to heat it up and melt the cheese. that was tasty IMHO.
Ah,yeah, lunchables. It never filled my stomach so I always had additional food in my bag...rice with any fried processed meat.
Lunchables may not exactly be the height of nutritional value, but even then I still argue that they were better for us than the cardboard breadtangles of pizza that they served in school cafeterias when I was a kid
Memory unlocked. The hot dog n taco ones 👀
I always thought the red stick was removed for fear of choking hazard lawsuits, but cost-cutting makes as much sense.
Mini hot dogs and the burgers were great when I was in 3rd grade until a kid put their poptart wrapper in our class room microwave
I never got to try a lunchable growing up but I always wanted to try one so my best friend got me a pizza lunchable as an early high school graduation gift so I could live that experience at least once before graduating in 2015. It was a pizza lunchable. I liked it but it wasn’t anything life changing either but I’m glad I got to try it when I did.
You all did a video about bologna a while back, but I would love to see one on pork roll/Taylor Ham, the New Jersey answer to bologna.
I always loved the mustard
it was basically the start of a charcuterie addiction for a generation, this was charcuterie starter kit for kids.
Oh man, memories unlocked ESPECIALLY the Nachos one
Remember them being awesome mixing the cheese and sauce together, mm, only time ide eat bologna too, I'm sure I had it but feel sad I don't remember the Pizza that everyone in the comments and video seem to love
Would never eat them these days though
Bring that whole dessert line back yes lord 🔥🙏🏻
My mother never got these for me as a child so now that I am a parent never saw the need to give some to my kids
Lunchables tasted much better back then had more flavor etc. Good times good memories
Thanks for this! 🧀
When I was a kid I would ask for lunchables sometimes but I always ended up thinking they were gross. Same with Orbitz and Surge. There were plenty of other popular snacks or drinks that I liked but those three in particular I remember always looking down on
I'm a '99 baby and still love the turkey and American lunchable
I don’t see anybody in the comments sections talking about the bomb ass hamburger ones dude everything about it the bread the hamburger patty. It was just perfect. Just perfect in every way.
Kids are still devouring these things in 2024!
The guy narrator is why I sub'd. Bring him back yo
I still grab one every once in a while for a quick snack.
I can't believe they got them approved in schools. 🙄 The adult in me is mad. The kid in me is jealous. Lol.
I honestly miss the Lunchable Taco’s
Same tbh
Same here
My favorite part of lunchables is the lead. Yummy
I'm 52 and I love Lunchables.
The canned Pacific Cooler was the best
I loved lunchables as a kid, and now my kids love em too!
That’s bad you know it has a lot of bad substances and chemicals sooo…. You should change to something healthier
@@Ilikeaviation2010 cry
When I was in fifth grade, my best friend Nichole brought a Lunchable every day. She didn't like cheese, and I wasn't crazy about the oatmeal cream pie my mom would pack me, so we would swap. Her cheese block for my pie.
Also BUCKWHEAT!!! IT'S BUCKWHEAT!!!(7:00)
I like the period of time when wet and wild and adventure dome were on coke cans in boulder city and Southern Nevada and the area BC also when lemony snicket the movie was on lunchabk3s and many mcphy
the lunchables have gone nostalgic
What happened to the fancy one with a cool mustard sqeese? So yummy. Also pizza lunchables every school lunch... In high school 😝
