I am an adult who still loves Pop Tarts. I introduced my daughters to Pop Tarts growing up and they were hooked. Unfortunately as they grew older sometimes they will occasionally get heartburn eating Pop Tarts but they still have fond memories of their favorite childhood snack. Their favorite still is strawberry frosted. I still have my daughters Pop Tarts holders. One looks like wildberry and the other looks like strawberry frosted. My favorite flavors are strawberry plain, wildberry and raspberry frosted or raspberry plain. We live in New York and we did go to the Pop Tarts store twice and were sad when it closed.

As a kid in the 90s, raspberry was such a treat. It only comes in the smallest box, and back then, our usual grocery stores would only sometimes have it, for a higher price than other flavors. Brown sugar and cinnamon also came in paper packets, which makes me wonder if it really did taste better back then.

Hot Fudge Sundae, Cookies N Creme, and Blueberry are my favorite Pop Tart flavors. And the mascots are cute and hilarious! I would love to see Weird History Food do videos on mascots. Especially if they talked about mascots voiced by famous voice actors! Examples: Paul Winchell, OG voice of Tigger from Winnie The Pooh [and inventor of the artifical heart] voiced the 1970s Jack In The Box characters, Burger Chef, Tusk the Elephant for Cocoa Krispies and Crackle for Rice Krispies. Mae Questel, voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl from Popeye, also did Buffalo Bee for Nabisco Rice Honeys. Richard Beals, voice of Speedy Alka-Seltzer did the voice of The Frito Kid and well as Little Oscar in animated Oscar Mayer ads [one is on Historic Films]. Mel Blanc did Toucan Sam, and likely a lot more given his already huge voice portfolio.

I worked filling vending machines in the late 1980's and 1990's and Pop-Tarts were firmly entrenched in the vending world. One vending company I worked for even had a agreement with Kellogg's that guaranteed every snack machine the company operated would have at least one slot permanently dedicated to Pop-Tarts. For machines that I filled at schools and colleges, it was common to offer multiple flavors of Pop-Tarts because they sold so well.
Vending Machine Pop-Tarts were designed to be eaten WITHOUT being heated. And they were made with a different formula/recipe that did make them taste good right out of the package. They were great. Since then, I have never purchased Pop-Tarts in stores because they are NOT as good as the vending ones used to be.
