Yes, please let us know the weight of the game and comparisons. It helps me prioritize which games I want to get next into my collection. I would love this addition to your reviews.
I hadn't heard of this game until you teased it but I love Aporta games and already own and love Automania, Avenue, Santa Maria and The Magnificent. This is now firmly on the list to buy. Thanks guys.
Thanks for directing me here from my comments on your Atiwa review on BGG. I'm calling Revive the Ark Nova of Spiel 2022. Ark Nova is probably my number one game at the moment, because it is just fun. I'm not saying Revive will do anywhere near as well in the ratings, but as you mention, it is just fun. Also just like Ark Nova it had limited copies available at Essen, which sold out quite quickly. Hopefully that will help to create buzz for this game, and not hurt it because more people need to know about this game.
Glad to see you here, Kirk :D Ark Nova did have something like 20 copies for sale, and Revive had 1000 if I'm not remembering wrong, so more people definitively did get the game at Spiel :D
Thumbed for Johannes covering the theme for more than 15 seconds! 😃 Definitely appreciate having some idea of the weight of the game. Maybe pick 2 or 3 reference games that remain constant and define the ranges of your weight categories. That might be easier than coming up with a different "similar to" game comparison for each video and would be more useful over time as everything would be compared to the same "standard". Just my 2¢ on it.
I'm very excited for this game! I hadn't heard about it until yesterday and after watching this video, it sounds exactly like the kind of game I would enjoy! Great overview and review👍
Ive read that sometimes the game end game bonuses synergies can be unbalanced and noticed there are some variations being suggested for it in bgg. have you experienced this?
Thanks for sharing! Regarding the 'campaign', it sounds like it's similar to Taverns of Tiefenthal where you may as well play with everything included from the first game: is that something you'd recommend?
It depends on the group! I would definitively not play with drafting the first few games, but the rest should be fine if you are used to playing heavier games :)
I really don’t like the modules in Taverns of Tiefenthal! It’s so many components and little rules. It’s like just pick what you think is the best game designer and give us that. Or just a basic mode and an expert mode. I find the modules very annoying and not enjoyable but love the base game in Taverns.
Coming back to this I wonder what those special rules are. Could you tell us what they are with Spoiler tags for those that don't want to see it. I would like to buy this game knowing what the full meaty experience is and not the basic one.
We did talk about them all in the video :) The special player powers are the biggest difference, ans the others are smaller changes! The game is amazing 🤩
You touched on playtime, but, does it play good at 2? Would you consider it if you would only play at 2? Also, seems like setup can take quite a bit, is it worth it when the game can be over that fast? I am keeping an eye on this one and see if there are some copies at Essen tho. Great video, nice having you back!
I am on the fence about this game. 1st the price: $80 retail. 2nd, the theme. This is very much a pure Euro board game meaning that the theme is very weak (seems pasted on). 3rd, no player interaction. Very much a multiplayer solitaire game. I'm surprised you gave it a 10. I would have dinged a point for the weak theme and possibly another point or 1/2 for the no player interaction. I have not had the pleasure to play the game yet though.
Hey :D If you need theme and high interaction, then most pure euros probably wouldn’t be the biggest things for you, hehe! We never care about theme in our euro games, and while we like interaction, it’s not super important for us! :) This game has interaction! Not in the same way that Wildcatters or Lignum f.ex, but it has some «euro» player interaction :) Check out some playthroughs to see if it is for you! I love it to bits!
Maybe it's difficult to do, but I'd love to know if you can compare this game with Lost Ruins of Arnak's weight? This is the maximum weight my wife is ok with, and even if I'm excited about this game, I need her around the table 😁
It’s been a while since we played Mosaic, but I would be hard pressed to find a lot of similarities! Mosaic is a civilization game, while Revive is a classic medium euro with lots of neat and new elements!
I’m still unsure if you like this game. A small fun cannon inside a bigger fun cannon? What does that mean? And Sunniva giving it such a low score 😂 Might become my first Aporta game when available.
Honestly the sound of any campaign in a game throws me off right away. I want to play the full game from the start, or at the very latest, the second game. Watching Rahdo's review, I was not interested in this game at all, but you guys have made me keep an ear out again.
It's luckily very, very simple to do that here. Just ignore the cards that says "Stop" and read the whole thing whenever you want :D It's a way to ease people into the mechanisms, but if you don't feel you need it, and don't care for the theme, just play with everything from the first game! The only thing I wouldn't add is drafting!
The campaign is a very small deck of cards that you could read the four rules added and then add them on your second game once you know the mechanics. This is hardly a campaign game. Think Maracaibo...I don't know more than like 3 people who've actually played the campaign.
Love a smooth game. How is the set up time? Wondering how easy this is to table. Sold Wonderland’s War recently because so many components to set up and hard to remember from periodic game to game how you do that. On another note, I’m not into when games have modules. Drives me crazy with Taverns of Tiefenthal. Just give me your best game, though I like when there’s an expert mode and family mode in games.
When I first looked at the box, it sounded more like a Legacy type game from reading the back of the box. Glad its not. Other reviewers have said that you can simply skip the campaign. It would have been better if they had stated one as a basic gameplay and the other as an advanced ruleset.
Art is subjective, so that will always be a case of someone likes it and someone doesn’t! I really like it here :) Also, the iconography is very clear and good, with no problems understanding it even during the first play :)

We will try to start doing this soon :)

Woooww, a perfect 10. I don't think I've seen that yet from you two? I'll definitely have to check this one out, thanks.
It’s so good! Hope you’ll like it :D

Just played this and I immediately ordered it from overseas with crazy shipping (I am in US) because it is that good.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is really a lot of fun 🥳
Thanks guys! Wow, sounds great! If only it would come to the US now...
Fingers crossed for it being there soon! It’s a fantastic game!
Thanks, guys! Great review. Here's hoping this one makes it to the US
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, fingers crossed 🤞
Looks great. I think this is going to figure very highly in many people’s game of the year.
It's so much fun!
This game wasn't on my radar at all, and now it sounds like I must get it.
It is soooo good 🤩

Awesome review! And even more awesome Discmania hat!!!
Thank you 🤩
@@BoardGamingRamblings I love to see the cross-over of Disc Golfers and Board Gamers!!!
Wont be available in the US till next year. Looking forward to it.
It’s worth the wait 🥳
Yes. Comparisons are good

It plays absolutely amazing at 2!
And the setup takes max 5 min if you do it together :)
@@BoardGamingRamblings Perfect, thanks!

I would say they are in the same wheelhouse weight wise, but please don’t be mad if your wife thinks it’s too heavy 😅😂
@@BoardGamingRamblings I won't, I promise 😂. Thank you very much for the answer!
How is Revive in your concept after test of time? Still playing it?
It is fantastic 🤩
Better than Mosaic? Do you need both? Only one which would you choose?
It’s been a while since we played Mosaic, but I would be hard pressed to find a lot of similarities!
Mosaic is a civilization game, while Revive is a classic medium euro with lots of neat and new elements!
Weights are great. Comparisons also very great. She had a good idea, let her talk!
It actually was Johannes’ idea. I don’t mind us jumping into each others sentences :)
It's hard to believe, but I have an idea from time to time :P Sunniva is usually the smartest, and I am the dummy (player) :D
@@BoardGamingRamblings I'm sure you have lots of ideas!
Haha, thank you 🤩
I like comparing the game to 1-2 similar weight games!
We will try to get to add that soon! :)
I’m still unsure if you like this game. A small fun cannon inside a bigger fun cannon? What does that mean? And Sunniva giving it such a low score 😂
Might become my first Aporta game when available.
Haha, we liked it ok 🙃
Norwegian?! I thought you were Australian!! 😂 (just kidding) Another great job, thank you.
Hahaha :P Glad you enjoyed it!
How does this compare and contrast to Woodcraft?
They are not very much alike at all. Both are fantastic games. Woodcraft is way tighter, so you’ll have to enjoy that to like the game! :)
Honestly the sound of any campaign in a game throws me off right away. I want to play the full game from the start, or at the very latest, the second game. Watching Rahdo's review, I was not interested in this game at all, but you guys have made me keep an ear out again.

Wish it didn’t have these bog standard meeples
Is this similar to Scythe?
No, I wouldn’t really compare them at all :)
This is what boonlake should have been.
Love them both 🤩
Waaant!!!
Hope you'll get to play as soon as possible! It's so, so much fun!
love the art on the boards but the one on cards and civilizations looks awful, iconography is also so all over the place
Art is subjective, so that will always be a case of someone likes it and someone doesn’t! I really like it here :)
Also, the iconography is very clear and good, with no problems understanding it even during the first play :)
@@BoardGamingRamblingstotally agree, and if it's such a good game I'll end up looking past it
I really like it, and if the review sounds like something you’ll like, I am sure you’ll like it as well :)
So great at 2p count I suppose?
Absolutely! 🤩
