Actually it is somewhat true, biologically as well But to say any 1 out of women species as a whole won't be able to outdo men is wrong* Correct me if I wrong
@@Eevee8858 not really, biology applies to physical testament where men are biologically stronger therefore sports requiring physical expenditure like tennis or soccer cant be gender neutral but chess is a mental game and there is no biological difference in IQ, memorization or anything, our brains are basically the same with individual differences, hence chess can be gender neutral
Not trying to say any of those historical facts is untrue, but how would that influence modern women's capabilities in chess? Chess is not a genetic capability that pass on, it's something that you develop. The fact that women couldn’t or shouldn't play chess 80 years ago has nothing to do with a random woman nowadays that picks up chess and can't play well. I think there's just less interest in chess coming from women than men. With that said, I also think that the difference in interest is due to low representation. I know I wanna be like Magnus Carlsen (yeah okay, chill out cowboy 😂) and many others, and women unfortunately just don't have that many idols in the chess world. It’s kinda like when an online game is dying, people stop playing it because other people stop playing it and it ends up losing all its players. Chess for women is like that imo, because they don't have a big representation, so they don't wanna grow up to represent it. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to give my two cents. I'm a guy btw, so idk how valuable my opinion here actually is, but yeah, have a good day
In my opinion, women never do something middle. They always go full. For example in programming, women are so rare. But if there is one, she is very skilful programmer. It is not because women mostly not able to program, but just mostly they are not interested in programming. I believe the same in chess, women are not so strong not because they are weaker in thinking, but because mostly they are not interested in chess. But if there is a woman likes chess, she mostly very skilful at it. That's the reason.
Thats actually the other way by any scientific research. Women are the ones on the middle, men are mostly on the top or bottom, in simply anything. Let me give you some examples, IQ, women are mostly average at IQ tests, while men mostly in the top or the bottom. In most of companies, women dominates middle management, men dominates lower and higher management. Also in workforce, while women are mostly in middle paying jobs such as office jobs, most men are eighter in a low paying job or high paying one.
Oh, come on... the score between Garry and Judit is like 10-1. Saying this, Judit proved her point. What people miss is that Garry was a fighter. He wasn't soft. The environment that Garry was raised was an environment that women didn't compete with men. What he said probably applies for today as well; even nobody wants to admit it. There are way fewer girls playing chess than men. Maybe it is indeed in our psychology. This doesnt mean that women are more stupid or weaker; but they are more likely to not to prefer competitive games such as chess. This does not apply to all women, of course, but can be generalized to 90% of the population.
you are actually quite right in "they are more likely not to prefer competitive games". ive heard somewhere that men, due to the testosterone, are more likely to compete in almost every aspect of their life and especially in something they have passion for.
@@henessy3848 is very difficult to distinguish what is culture and what is based on genes since culture affects every society and in every society women are treated different than men.
There may be some genetics but mainly it's social conditioning. From babies onwards, males are trained and socialised to be interested in things and, from babies onwards , females are trained and socialised to be interested in people. Research shows this affects what toys they play with, what skills and hence preferences they develop. The conditioning plasticises the brain from the beginning and we can observe it by watching any adult playing with a baby or reading with a baby. They act differently depending on whether they think the child is male or female. Hence the male preference for STEMs and physical sports, speed etc. Hence also, the female preference for social, linguistic, psychological and emotional fields. There are of course biological, social and cultural factors that add to this and put pressures on females that males don't face in many areas of life including chess..Based on the science of IQ, intelligence alone is definitely not a reason why relatively few women play chess, especially at the highest levels. In short, they're not that interested in chess and don't have the time 😂
Women can play chess just not at the highest level . Why is there not a single woman in open top 100 . Judit is a big exception . You can’t base your entire theory on one exception . If there were even 10 women in world top 100 i would agree that women can ply at the highest level but the evidence is more than clear they can’t .
@ not really. A lot of women play chess and we have hundreds of women playing at international level . How is not even one woman in world top 100 . Not even a single woman . It’s just ridiculous to look at the data and still believe women can dominate at top level . It’s just a politically correct thing to say .
@@songoku-jx3cb and we have tens of thousands of men playing, so do you think it is a fair comparison. Moreover, the prize money in women tournaments is less, so women in their formative years do not have that motivation to play chess, which explains why Hou Yifan left chess. Intellectually, you cannot differentiate. In terms of opportunities there is a HUGE difference.
@ i think i highly disagree because i have friends who are national champions and i have talked at length with them about the opportunities women have in chess and he told me women actually get much more opportunities to play top tournaments compared to men . Every top tournament has a open and a women’s section . So even if women can’t qualify into open sections because of low rating they still get to play top tournaments . My friend is under 17 & 19 national chess champion . He couldn’t qualify for many tournaments but girls from his club with lower ratings got a chance to participate so you are highly mistaken if you think girls don’t play chess or they don’t have enough opportunities . Its much harder for men to get chances in top tournaments especially in a country like mine where competition is so fierce . The fact that not one woman is able to compete in the open section and get into top 100 shows they can’t compete at apex level . If you have talent even starting late you can play well . Arjun started playing at a age of 10 and is still world number 4 .
I think Kasparov made a generic statement.Judit Polgar is an exception who was trained at a very young age by her father.Left to their own devices, girls will not gravitate towards subjects like Chess, Physics etc. They are more inclined towards biology, literature etc.The avg. top 10 male chess players have an average rating elo of 2760+, whereas top 10 female players maybe around 2520+.Now, thats a huge difference. Its not like women have not succeeded or don’t have the freedom to succeed. For eg. look at modelling, an extremely bold profession which requires a lot of freedom and breaking of stereotypes, but women tend to dominate there.
yes, but still, she was the exception to the rule, men are always supposed to work and compete, not women, and also she showed male-like characteristics like bravery and resolve 😅 it is never a feat for a woman to compete against men, what's the point? there is what you are supposed to do and what you can probably do, I still agree with Kasparov's initial statement that chess is primarily for men, but doesn't harm if women compete against women.
While there are more than 11% of women out of all fide rated players...The ratio doesn't make sense at all and yet they justify it by the same "more men play chess"
@@shaolinsoccerisadecentmovi7232 Yes and also, there are many female chess players (I'll give india for an example) who start chess alongside similar aged guys. Women are objectively weaker in chess. One game doesn't prove anything. She's never won a match against him. The n°1 women in the world is You Hifan with a rating of 2633 and she's not even in the men's top 100. The 2nd women in the world is Ju, Wenjun with only 2563 There are only 11 women in the world above 2500 and only about 48 above 2400. Women are simply weaker in fighting chess, brut force calcultation, and creative ideas on the board. And who cares! They have other areas where they are better than men...
This is incredibly short sighted. Given that chess is played mostly by men it is not surprising that the top ranks are mostly male. Youre making the same argument people used to make in the 80s about women being worse at mathematics. This is disproven and the disparity lies in sociocultural factors and not some biological reasoning and youre reproducing that stereotype with your comment
It could be argued that because far less women play chess, and the best prospects for women's chess usually choose to go to Ivy League schools instead of pursuing chess full time, that is the reason for the rating disparity. Not to mention that you seem to think that all men are 2700+ or something when even among chess players, that's incredibly rare. If women historically had been pushed as hard as men to play chess instead of being broodmares, who it's possible, we could have gotten more chess geniuses out of them.
if there are less people in any demographic participating in one activity of course the competition will not be as good. if there were the same amount of women playing then the level of play will be much higher.
@ What exactly do you mean by “getting stronger.” Because the average elo of women have gone up a lot. There’s only around 2000 Grandmasters in the world. Many of which have been grandmasters for decades. There’s only 42 female grandmasters and 134 female international masters (compared to 3843 men IMs) but this statistically makes sense when comparing the size of the respective playing pools and the fact that before a certain point not long again women were not even allowed to play with men.

But to say any 1 out of women species as a whole won't be able to outdo men is wrong*
Correct me if I wrong
I'm a guy btw, so idk how valuable my opinion here actually is, but yeah, have a good day
Gap is actually not shrinking at all
Bro that’s the point of the Berlin that’s not like a disadvantage to lose castling rights
Lovely stuff. I love that Kasparov changed his mind, what a wise man
Kasparov kendini beğenmiş kişilik bozukluğu olan biri. Polgar hem yaratıcı oyunları hem de kişiliği ile takdir topluyor.
She threw him in check mate with a knight. He would’ve had to sacrifice a piece
all the Russian are cheaters now they don't have any respect in chess community they started a propaganda to accuse others of cheating
Polgar is the best female chess player who ever lived. Kasparov has other men to contend with that label, most obviously Magnus Carlsen
@@Strade8 I guess our culture is heavily influenced by our genetics...
In short, they're not that interested in chess and don't have the time 😂
@Bozzface nothing to do with intelligence, social and biological reasons
Women can play chess just not at the highest level . Why is there not a single woman in open top 100 . Judit is a big exception . You can’t base your entire theory on one exception . If there were even 10 women in world top 100 i would agree that women can ply at the highest level but the evidence is more than clear they can’t .
its because women play less and hence talented females are probably hidden. luckily judit and hou yifan were discovered
@@songoku-jx3cb even Fischer later said that women can play chess
Arjun started playing at a age of 10 and is still world number 4 .
he is correct. In general u will find better men chess players than women. Compared the overall rankings, u will see what i mean.
Grow up.
I think not garry say woman can't play chess but bobby fischer
Women can play chess, that is why there is 1 woman chess player and 99 men in the top 100.
They get same facilities, yet they never reach close to that level. See divya deshmukh and vaishali. They belong to the same group as gukesh nihal and pragg. Both of them are not even 2500 while the boys are on top of the world already.
0 women in top 100. Hou Yifan, comfortably the best woman, is close to it but has been outside the top 100 for a while now
how original
He’s still stronger. Wanting payback really really really bad doesn’t change facts.
One of the best players in chess history and a role model for women's chess Great video @TheCheckmateCorner
man play chess better than women , but ,women have other use ,no point agure who better man or women it's ridiculous
the absolutely best woman to ever grace the game of chess managed by the grace of god to reach the 8th place in the rankings.
the current best woman in the world is ranked 111th. sure, they can play chess. but they cant compete.
1 woman can play chess
Garry wasn’t that wrong though. Judit was an outlier/exception.
Women are objectively weaker in chess. One game doesn't prove anything. She's never won a match against him.
The n°1 women in the world is You Hifan with a rating of 2633 and she's not even in the men's top 100.
The 2nd women in the world is Ju, Wenjun with only 2563
There are only 11 women in the world above 2500 and only about 48 above 2400.
This can all be explained by the fact that there are more boys who start playing at a young age than girls
What’s that all about?
Now one single game proves nothing. Polgar and Kasparov should have played at six games to decide who would be better
Kasparov has a strong winning record against her though he should have had 2 losses not 1, as one game he got away with basically cheating.
Kasparov was number one in the world and Judith was at her peak among the top ten, so of course Kasparov was better. But that doesn’t justify his quote „women are weak players“ or „women are poor fighters“. Judith has an amazing aggressive playing style
@@mathildewesendonck7225 Kasparov meant that women masters are weaker than men masters or in other words the woman world champion is weaker than the man world champion and this statement is factually and statistically true.

Generally speaking he is correct, data is on his side- so he was wrong and you are wrong too. Women do not do as well as men in chess, though we have many many more today. Women often have different interests than analysis. They spend over an hour on their makeup, hair, fashion, etc every day, so it’s uncommon for them to have meaningful lives.
Fashion also dominate by men lol and why would you put these things in women’s interests when men also like dressing up bruhh
Had me in the first half ngl, but then the blatant sexism kicked in.
@@Alexander-tu3iv Agreed. That seems like blatant sexism.
The fact is women participate in far fewer numbers than men.
Remember in pre 1600 women weren't given the opportunity to study bc they were known as inferior beings.
Then more women started getting education and people like Marie Curie, Emmy Noether........the scientist kept on coming.
Now we don't see women inferior in education department.
That can happen in chess as well if they participate more
Maybe talk to a woman once before writing something this idiotic…
