For the hoses behind the blade, I recommend you weld a rod sticking out of the front of the machine, from the end of the rod you can hang a spring and some chain to hold the hoses in place. The spring and the hoses give enough flexibility to still move everything, while avoiding rubbing.

To cover the ram you need an accordion bellows that can be slid over it and secured at both ends. You can make your own from canvas sheet by cutting out circles and sewing them together then sealing them by emptying a tube of silicone caulk into a bucket, adding 2 to 3 liters of mineral spirits, stirring it up until liquid and soaking the bellows in the liquid then stretch it out to dry This is how I make waterproof tarps from bed sheets
That dozer has never been treated this well since it was built myself friend, every bit of gunk you clean off the engine is going to help it run cooler and the means it’s going to perform better and burn less fuel brother! I’m glad to see you maintaining the dozer Andris, but I know how well you maintain your equipment my friend! You should make it a habit of turning the fuel every time you get off of it and turn it on before you get one the machine! You can put the key by the fuel valve and I promise you’ll remember to turn the fuel on before you crank it! Might work brother, it’s always good to turn the fuel off and disconnect the batteries when you’re not using it! The dozers I’ve seen have a battery disconnect switch! The don’t know if that machine has one but I don’t believe that you can’t figure out how to install one myself friend! Just a suggestion brother!

I also noticed, maybe I’m wrong but do you have a pole barn to park all your equipment to keep them out of the weather. It may not matter now but as you grow older, working out in bad weather conditions on equipment will be much harder.
glad your water pump problem was only a few loose bolts. Looked like a nightmare job getting that off and then finding a replacement. I'm also glad you didn't crack the housing beating on it trying to get it loose. I'm sure you are too.

Hi, yes it's about time to build your big shed. Just build the frame and roof and build it in as you go. Definitely add on to the existing tractor shed, extend the far roof line up so you have height and possibly an attic.

Joseph turned out nicely. Great job. When CAT are new, their Signature color is sprayed on *_everything_* to make leaks show easier, seams are sealed, and fasteners are protected. Thick paint peels off easily, revealing a usable fastener, instead of a corroded head that strips out, rounds off. I'd slather those engines, exhausts & tracks with hi-temp silver.

Great job (well, as usual .... 😏😏😏) About the 2 front hydraulic cylinder protection, maybe you can use (or make it) as PTO protector heavy plastic tube sliding one inside the other About the dozer very long front hydraulic hoses, cover/protect them individually (they don't rub each other) with spiral plastic wrapping guard, a stick with long springs holding the hoses away will be a great protection, the long spring maintaining/permitting all the movement. Again, great job you did (dozer now look almost too nice to work with it 🤣😂) Be well ✌✌✌

Also great type of paint. Painted a fireplace and it came out perfect (but you should ensure temp never goes above 80 to be sure)

The fist time I saw your Soviet Bulldozer I thought “he is a very brave individual - or he is desperate for lack of superior resources.” By the time I had seen you complete your initial challenges, I knew I would need to subscribe and contribute only the finest advice possible to try and match your skill level. Today I believe that these solutions are capable of answering your direct needs and perhaps a bonus for other things you may not have thought of: (1) PROTECTING HOSES: A quick hint is to try and find some old/expired woven fire hose because it is like gold on heavy equipment when it it is used to protect hydraulic cylinders, wire, harnesses and such - it is both heat and flame resistant too! Also, I concur about suspending hoses by springs. I prefer the cheap, longer screen door springs on longer hydraulic hoses. Use an older expired larger hose to support the hose in the middle, using a short length of plastic or metal pipe or conduit to support the padded hose and use clamps or tie wraps to keep it in place and connect it to the end of the spring. Attach the fixed end to a location that allows freedom of movement through the entire range, while keeping the entire hose clear of potential snags from the running gear or likely places where the debris you are pushing might interfere with the hoses (off the ground/away from the tracks & blade). Attaching hoses like a cable installed on your living room baseboard WILL work too! To be continued …

If you want to drill in hardened steel, just take a bit for drilling stone. Anyone with a tungsten tip is allright. Sharpen it on a bench grinder like you would to re-sharpen a steel bit. After that it will even cut trough glass.
Good name for the machine, I approve it. It actually refers to the forefather of this machine called the S-60 or also known as Stalinetch-60. So they started calling every model after the S-60 after Stalin just "Joseph"(or Joss in Estonian). Even if the official name Stalinetch was abandoned in the late 50s. The front letters ЧТЗ stand for Cheliabinsk Tractor Factory. You can technically service and bleed the machine alone but it's better to have two people as this video proves. The bleeder screws on the plungers are sometimes so bad that you can actually break them. I should have remembered to open them first before everything else. But you had so much air in the system it took me thinking where the air got stuck in. Paint job well im a fan of patina but this one looks really in acceptable levels so if your fine with it, why complain? The coolant leak on the older model is even more notorious cause they have a packet nut seal and they leak like hell. I would say the old coolant cleaned the block from what ever was inside. Usually when the block has had water in it as a coolant it's filled to the brim with crud and rust.
For the grease fitting on the tilt cylinder for the blade ,drill the pin in the center and then drill side holes in the pin for the grease to lube the pin.
You sure are one hard charger, great job on that dozer, definitely build a roof off that building you mentioned. Under that tree the birds will crap on your nice paint job. I think Andris, instead of components a mile apart, you could invent tiny robotic mechanics to go in to engines and fix stuff. They probably would need three arms, one to hold the camera. You could control it from a joystick/game controller.😊
Sometimes hard steel can be drilled with a good quality masonary drill bit. Just sharpen it like a normal twist drill and cool with cutting oil. See also ARTU drill bits, they will drill through a file.

The fist time I saw your Soviet Bulldozer I thought “he is a very brave individual - or he is desperate for lack of superior resources.”
By the time I had seen you complete your initial challenges, I knew I would need to subscribe and contribute only the finest advice possible to try and match your skill level.
Today I believe that these solutions are capable of answering your direct needs and perhaps a bonus for other things you may not have thought of:
(1) PROTECTING HOSES:
A quick hint is to try and find some old/expired woven fire hose because it is like gold on heavy equipment when it it is used to protect hydraulic cylinders, wire, harnesses and such - it is both heat and flame resistant too!
Also, I concur about suspending hoses by springs. I prefer the cheap, longer screen door springs on longer hydraulic hoses. Use an older expired larger hose to support the hose in the middle, using a short length of plastic or metal pipe or conduit to support the padded hose and use clamps or tie wraps to keep it in place and connect it to the end of the spring. Attach the fixed end to a location that allows freedom of movement through the entire range, while keeping the entire hose clear of potential snags from the running gear or likely places where the debris you are pushing might interfere with the hoses (off the ground/away from the tracks & blade). Attaching hoses like a cable installed on your living room baseboard WILL work too!

If you want to drill in hardened steel, just take a bit for drilling stone. Anyone with a tungsten tip is allright. Sharpen it on a bench grinder like you would to re-sharpen a steel bit. After that it will even cut trough glass.

Good name for the machine, I approve it. It actually refers to the forefather of this machine called the S-60 or also known as Stalinetch-60. So they started calling every model after the S-60 after Stalin just "Joseph"(or Joss in Estonian). Even if the official name Stalinetch was abandoned in the late 50s. The front letters ЧТЗ stand for Cheliabinsk Tractor Factory. You can technically service and bleed the machine alone but it's better to have two people as this video proves. The bleeder screws on the plungers are sometimes so bad that you can actually break them. I should have remembered to open them first before everything else. But you had so much air in the system it took me thinking where the air got stuck in. Paint job well im a fan of patina but this one looks really in acceptable levels so if your fine with it, why complain? The coolant leak on the older model is even more notorious cause they have a packet nut seal and they leak like hell. I would say the old coolant cleaned the block from what ever was inside. Usually when the block has had water in it as a coolant it's filled to the brim with crud and rust.

For the grease fitting on the tilt cylinder for the blade ,drill the pin in the center and then drill side holes in the pin for the grease to lube the pin.

You could just put a tire valve on fuel cap it would be weatherproof, and also hold pressure. Plus you can check pressure
The cap has to breath or else the tank will collapse from the vacuum produced by the injector pump.

Another excellent episode, you have without doubt got the best channel on this platform. I love the way that nothing phases you, you take it all in your stride. Even when you’re not a 100% sure, and then on top of that, you do problem solving. And to a good standard. You don’t care how messy you get. Which all leads to a soviet bulldozer that you wouldn’t recognise from the one you first brought, kudos to you, I always look forward to a new episode. That’s all the good stuff, now the bad……. I think Andris, instead of components a mile apart, you could invent tiny robotic mechanics to go in to engines and fix stuff. They probably would need three arms, one to hold the camera. You could control it from a joystick/game controller.😊

Sometimes hard steel can be drilled with a good quality masonary drill bit. Just sharpen it like a normal twist drill and cool with cutting oil. See also ARTU drill bits, they will drill through a file.
