- My Dream SMP: The Fall of L'Manburg reaction looks at one of the most historic days in the Dream SMP. I'm reacting to the Fall of L'Manberg or Fall of Manburg on the Dream SMP from @TommyInnit, @Technoblade, and @WilburPlays's perspectives. The war over L'Manberg / Manberg was a historic struggle on the Minecraft roleplay server which is the most popular on RUclips.
Today I'm reacting to I fought Technoblade & Dream. (GRAND FINALE). That details @dream's role on the Dream SMP. I'm also watching The Fall of Manburg [Dream SMP] which is the Technoblade POV on the events which happened on the Minecraft 1.16.4 server. Finale, in my The Wilbur Soot DreamSMP Finale reaction I'll look at the man himself, and what Wilbur Soot did on his final day on the Dream SMP.

the one thing about technoblade is that he doesn't dupe he just genuinely has a severe problem of not lacking time

four very important things happened before this video that aren’t mentioned but are need to understand the story:
1. quackity and schlatt had a massive argument that came to a boiling point over the takedown of the old whitehouse leading quackity to betray schlatt and join pogtopia
2. fundy was revealed to be another spy who had worked on his own to carefully note everything that schlatt had done, and approached pogtopia with his 20 page spy book and he ended up joining them (though wilbur was very adamant with his hate towards fundy)
3. schlatt offered dream a mysterious book that contains information (that to this day we still don’t know the contents of) that dream valued far more than any chaos he could cause by supporting pogtopia. at the same time, dream also revealed that there was a traitor amongst the pogtopian’s ranks which sowed a lot of doubt
4. at the beginning of eret’s stream, he was dethroned by dream and george was throned as king, since eret decided he wanted to try and rectify his past traitorous mistakes and chose friendship over kingship
and just a note of warning: from this point on, a lot of the edited videos on youtube by these creators leave a lot of plot out meaning the best way to watch some of the upcoming events is through the vods (although that’s a lot of editing so i completely understand if that’s untenable!)

RE: Techno and Schlatt
Techno was wholly opposed to the Schlatt government on the basis that he opposes all forms of government. The point he was trying to make was that, according to the standards of Wilbur and Tommy, they were the bad guys as they were seeking to overthrow a democratically elected government. Techno doesn't care, since he doesn't view any government, democratic or not, as legitimate, but Wilbur and Tommy do--and that's why they held the election that started everything in the first place. So by staging a coup against a legitimately elected President simply because he enacted policies with which they disagreed, they were hypocrites.
EDIT: Also, about Techno possibly telling Schlatt about the plot to blow up L'Manberg, I don't think he knew. He wasn't party to any of Tommy and Wilbur's discussions about it and he acted surprised when L'manberg finally blew up.
EDIT EDIT: The first wither didn't die instantly. Wither boss bars automatically disappear if you are not within a set radius of the wither and automatically re-appear when you go back within that set radius. The radius is somewhere around 30-40 blocks.
Triple EDIT: You're now up to the point where you can view the alignment chart of the Dream SMP characters without spoilers. This alignment chart was made by Wilbur Soot (The main writer for the L'Manberg arcs) and helps to give insight into the motivations of the characters:

It's very weird to me that Technoblade is in favor of abolishing all government in favor of a theocracy. Because ultimately with no government, Dream is God, and everyone has to appease him. Which doesn't seem like something he'd be down for either.
@@YoBGS I don't think Techno is even thinking about the chance of Dream taking over if their is no government. Plus since Techno opposes all government, it also might be too dangerous for Dream try and take over, at least publicly. The reason why is that, on the server, the only people who can really kill the them in straight up PvP is each other. Thus, I believe they'll both refrain from doing anything directly that would incite the other to attack them. This is just me theorizing based on what we got here though, so anything could happen!
Uh, info on Techno: His argument is that power corrupts, and only drives people away from eachother, which you’ll see in time. You should focus on Phil, Techno, Tommy, and Ranboo after the battle. They have the best arcs in the storyline.

Fun fact: in Wilbur's script which he shared a part of on a stream Schlatt's death was written as simply "Jshlatt has a heart attack and fucking dies" that is word for word how it was written in the script
The reason Wilbur never took armor was because that he doesn’t like armor. That is why one of L’Manburg’s laws is to not have armor on in L’Manburg.

Ok 3 things:
1. Dream joined Manburg as a mercenary with his faction after Eret wanted to helped Pogtopia.
2. Quackity and Jschlatt had a falling out via Flatty Patty so Quackity joined pogtopia
3. While you may be angry at Technoblade at least know 3 things. Techno hasn’t lied once, he just is anti government, and everything techno says has a lot of foreshadowing

Alright, a few notes from this reaction. Wilbur is now dead in the story, he has lost all 3 canon lives. Techno’s argument about the government was that even though Schlatt was a tyrant, he was elected democratically while Pogtopia just seized power for themselves. So for as much shit as they give Schlatt for being a bad leader, they’re just as much in the wrong. And the thing where the wither’s health bar disappeared because when you move a certain amount of blocks away from a wither, the health bar disappears.

actually your point about dream not reacting to the explosions was off, since if you listened carefully after the initial explosion you can faintly hear dream say "hahaha yes!" around 1:11:56 on this video. And this is really what dream wanted, Wilbur said it perfectly that Dream doesn't care for sides, all he yearns for is chaos and destruction, and he will aide anyone who will help him achieve that

Yes, he does. Dream is a manipulator. If you asked someone to point you to the person who's the most dangerous behind the scenes, Dream would be their first pick... as long as they actually know whats going on in the Dream SMP. If you're looking for the most dangerous out front, that would be Techno. Be weary of him, he's not easy to predict. Am I talking about Dream? Or Techno?
Lets be honest. When it comes down to the wire, is there really much of a difference?
Dream uses words and his reputation to manipulate people in small but major ways. Techno is known for killing people up front. Techno is the best, but Dream, I think, is more dangerous.
Techno isn't unpredictable. He does logical things and we know his motivation. If you don't do something that he doesn't like he can even help.

I know you’re pain, imagine watching it live. There are things missed in the recap videos. Dream did side with Techno in the end. They were whispering to each other in chat during the speech.Schlatt asked Dream to join his side and gave him something of extreme value that still hasn’t been revealed. Something Dream said was “more valuable than friendship.” Dream plays a character that is truly chaotic. You start to see a shift in his character from this point forward. Thank you for the amazing series so far! I really look forward to these videos each week.

I kinda rooting for techno cuz from the beginning he was fully transparent with the team what his intentions were. And as techno said no matter how evil schlatt was, they still did a hostile takeover. Also, they did use techno stuff too so without techno, they couldn't have won the war.
I mean, not winning the war is a stretch considering Dream just surrendered in the middle and Shlatt just died. Also, it’s not like L’Manberg wasn’t transparent in their motives from the beginning. I mean, they never said “we’re making a new government!” but they’re literally the former rulers of the country overthrowing the new one. Like, c’mon Techno. Another case of each side only seeing what they wanted to see.

They clearly didn't care and still used him for items and his skills to benefit them and take down the government. Literally there is factually NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that ive watched bc i have scoured all the VODs for any semblance of techno being in the call with wilbur/tommy talking about instilling a new government if the revolution was successful - NONE. The closest i could find is when techno was in a call with sam and quackity (who i believe were in manberg’s side at the time) and techno said “i would never betray my personal ideals” and sam asks “what if people didnt align with his ideals” and techno just responded with a “we’ll burn that bridge when we get to it”

Quackity had a falling out with Schlatt in one of the streams. Fundy joined Pogtopia, giving Wilbur the book "a spy's diary"
When the revolution convened a day before the events, Dream mentioned that he was bribed to switch sides and that someone (Wilbur) is a traitor among them.
A lot of what you missed (like quackity leaving Schlatt, Dream siding with Schlatt and saying there was a traitor within pogtopia, etc.) weren’t in the official videos sadly. You’d have to watch some stream highlights to understand that sadly.

Btw there are not a lot of totems of undying in the server, the server's difficulty is set to easy so the only way to get those is killing evokers in woodland mansions

@@tomrose6341 Findig zombie villagers is possible in easy which is what they did. It is impossible to turn villagers into zombie villagers but viceversa is possible.

Idk if you missed this but this was THE DAY Phil joined the server. This was his first appearance. It's even more hilarious/dramatic if you were watching Phil's stream because he was just playing on his single player world, pretending like it was a normal day and he wasn't just about to join the famous server everybody had been talking about for the past months. And then his chat started yelling at him about Wilbur and he started watching Wilbur's stream ON his own stream and went "oh shit, he's gonna do it!" And then he joined the call with Wilbur.
It was all planned obviously but Phil played it like he just "hacked in" to stop Wilbur.
They weren't killing techno because they literally can't kill him

Technoblade never dies.. I thought he had learned.
You're missing the Badlands side of this, because none of them have made a video about it. The Badlands is the faction consisting of BadBoyHalo, Skeppy, Antfrost, and Awesamdude. Their only stake in this fight was that they wanted every other faction to be continuously at war so that they could quietly amass power in the background. Because of this, they fought on Pogtopia's side initially up until JSchlatt died, but then switched over to fight *against* them when the withers were spawned because that was the best way to keep the conflict going. Techno was very confused about why he suddenly had people fighting on his side, but that explains why it wasn't just Techno (and Dream) getting jumped by everyone else. Also, out of canon, the CCs want the story to continue so that they have stuff to do on the SMP, so they let certain things slide or don't press certain advantages to allow for an ongoing narrative.
The reason why “crystal pvp” is outlawed, and a majority of events occur the way they do is that this is primarily a STORY CENTRIC series, and to have an entertaining story, you need to have compelling plot points, if you just cheese your way through every scenario, then it looses its charm fast

Fun fact: While all of this was happening, George was building a mushroom house on his own. He only showed up after the withers spawned, he knew nothing about the war until he saw the Withering Heights achievement.

Fun fact: Dream does react to L'Manberg exploding! He was the one in the first two videos who laughed maniacally and yelled, "YES!!"

You see there in lies the issue because at that stage they literally couldn’t. Techno + Dream and Co were more powerful than the rest combined in terms of PvP. Or at the very least if they did spend the time to take them down the withers would have wrecked havoc because for every man you have killing techno, that’s one less taking care of the walking explosion death skeleton.

So, Dream switching sides- it happened in a video that Tommy uploaded a while back, but as far I know the video was taken down for some reason or another. It was also the video in which Quackity switched sides. He was tired of Schlatt never taking him seriously and constantly using him, so he took Schlatt's second life and went to join Pogtopia. Later that day, Dream suddenly announced he was on Schlatt's side, saying that Schlatt had given him "something" important. We're still not entirely sure what it was, even months later.
Schlatt dying in the Camarvan was never actually explained either, really, but the most likely scenario is that Dream (or one of the other operators online) just ran _/kill jschlatt._ For story purposes though, he just got very drunk and had a heart attack.
As for Phil- I can't remember if it was confirmed or not, but I'm fairly sure nobody on the server knew he was going to be joining (besides Dream and Wilbur, obviously). Everyone freaking out over him logging on was real, and Techno choosing to shoot Tubbo at that moment was a happy coincidence. It's also worth noting (not for story reasons, just as a fun fact) that Phil appeared in the room with Wilbur, instead of at spawn, so he must've logged onto the server at least once before.
Speaking of Wilbur, yeah, he's gone for good. So after no one permanently dying for the entirety of Season 1, we suddenly get _two_ real deaths in just one day.
First was Schlatt (killed by Techno at the festival, killed by Quackity after the festival, had a heart attack), and then Wilbur (killed by Punz in the Final Control Room, killed by Punz after the election, killed by Phil at his own request).
Also, a small thing you didn't acknowledge when Phil killed Wilbur. The "you're my son!" line. They both later confirmed that that was canon in the story, Wilbur being Phil's son. The family tree has been messed around with a _lot_ since then, with people being added and removed, and even inanimate objects being thrown in there at some point. As of right now, the family tree is this:
Phil is Wilbur and Tommy's father, and Tubbo's adoptive father. According to Wilbur, his mother is a fridge (I _wish_ I was joking). Wilbur is Fundy's father, and Fundy's mother is a salmon (again, I wish I was joking).
So, for Phil’s first official day on the server, he logged in, watched a country get blown up, murdered his own son _at said son's request,_ and then had to fight two Withers. It's a pretty messed up situation, actually.
On the bright side, the majority of animatics won't have spoilers for you anymore! Innocence, Dawn of 16th- anything relating to Season 1 of the SMP is free reign now.

Another edit... There will be moments after wars where everyone will just be standing around. It’s a little awkward but it really shows that this is all roleplay (a good reminder for fans who take the server too seriously)
Another...another...edit... The entire time Philza and Wilbur were in the button room, Philza was struggling to hold in laughter. It’s just a little note I don’t know if you noticed but I thought it was hilarious. Especially because Philza came from his own stream with his own Viewers to all of a sudden to roleplay on a different server.
He really is like making a deal with the devil. You'll get what you asked for, but it won't be what you wanted.

5:21 Nah, Techno doesn't dupe stuff. He's said in livestreams that it took about 30 minutes bed mining to get the five sets of netherite, and Sam, another person on the server, says that he often runs into Techno late at night on the server cause they're both grinding. Plus they have an afk XP farm, so enchanting is pretty easy. Then there's also villager trading for the rare enchants.

Phil killing Wilbur was Will's last canon life, his character is now officially dead
If we're being honest, Wilbur's reasoning was simply selfishness. He said it himself, if he couldn't have (L)Manburg then no one could. He lost his country and became bitter
Something I find very interesting (and overanalysing) is how while on the tower Wilbur says "You're pushing them back" referring to the Pogtopia forces rather than "we're pushing them back"- directly excluding himself from that unity and indicating he's not really passionate about their cause.
Also during all of this George was building a little mushroom cottage which he proceeds to never use

About Tommy stepping down vs the script: Tommy literally didn't read the script for this event, he was sent it, but didn't read it so everything that happened was a complete surprise for him

Ever since Techno first joined the server he as always said that he was against government, and that he would destroy ALL government. In the end when they made a new government he realized that they never listened to him, they never saw him as a friend, they only used him because they knew how powerful he was, they used him to get to their own goals. So from Technos POV, they used him and betrayed him but it's like no one sees that which is crazy.
Also, everyone in the lore has 3 canon lives, Wilbur died in the final control room, he died on the day of the Election, and his last life was taken by his *canonical* father Philza at Wills request.

A good description of Techno is where Wilbur placed him of the alignment chart from dnd, he's not chaotic evil, as it might seem on first glance, he's lawful natural. He has his principals, that is that governments are evil, and he follows them, not out of spite or evilness, but just because those are his morals, so when they formed a government in front of him, he didn't betray anyone, he kept on following those same principles, that lead him to fight Schlatt and which, once Tommy and friends became the government, meant going against them.
About schlatts death, not sure if it was schlatts himself or dream, but most likely dream since he’s the one with console, and /killed schlatt. Bad and George also have console access, but I doubt it was them, since they weren’t watching the scene

The thing with technos vault - is that he grinded for about 2 weeks beforehand for it- he didn’t even show his stream this thing that’s how secret it was. During this stream he had 117 levels or something like that- BEFORE this he had well over 200, I think it was like 238 or something like that. There was a solid week where whenever ANYONE was on the server he was at the spider farm afk- he didn’t care about the XP- people would go kill the spiders- techno just left a chest out and told them to put the string in because he needed it. It was insane. This is to this day the 2nd craziest thing he has done on the Dream SMP. (You’ll see what I mean in the future)
As for how much free time techno has- he’s a full time Minecraft youtuber and besides the red festival he hadn’t uploaded in MONTHS- the man has time.
Also the man is a master at hyperfixating on things (adhd at its finest) - you watched the potato war- this was just expected. In fact when techno doesn’t stream or goes radio silent but we see him online during everyone else’s streams- we know he’s up to something crazy. It’s just a given.
Edit: sorry just had to mention this the reason Wilbur isnt wearing armor is because he canonically just hates it. Despises it- he has never worn armor.

Niki Nihachu accidentally did trigger some of the TNT whilst Tubbo was making his presidential speech. She destroyed a block of the podium and set off one of the blocks underneath. She destroyed it before it set off and covered up the hole she made before returning as if nothing had happened

In my opinion Techno is absolutely in the right. From the very beginning he said that he's anti government and told them his end goals. Techno probably contributed the most to the revolution but in the end they betrayed him end decided to form a government right infront of him. They didn't even discuss it with him they just decided to leave Techno by the sideline and do it.
And then during Techno's speech, he is not defending the actions of Schlatt. He is just saying that he was fairly elected, meanwhile Tommy, Wilbur and the rest just decided it wasn't right and performed a coup to take over the government. He just told them that they were hypocrites themselves and most of all tyrants, so when techno kills Tubbo, him and the rest are tyrants. They didn't have a vote on who should rule they just decided, it is that one person that rules now and then that one person decoded someone else should rule.
Plus you have to understand that Techno probably deep down knows that Tubbo would be a perfect president, but that's not his argument against him. His argument isn't even against one person it's against government. Tubbo can be as perfect of a president as he can be but as long as he holds power, someone WILL want to take it, like Dream or others for expample.
Then conflicts start and the whole thing happens all over again, that's why Technos line fits so perfectly here "Don't you see history repeating itself?" All the conflicts about L'manberg revolved around who should rule and who should not. One side will always want power, because power corrupts.
That's why Techno's argument is understandable because in his eyes if he removes the government itself there will be no more sides to fight eachother. There is no power struggle because there is no "power" to be obtained. Plus Techno's speech about Theseus also plays a huge part in this and in the future as well. Btw I can't believe you cut the Theseus speech out, it was soo goood!

Explanation time!
-Again, they don’t add Fit because this is all planned, that’s why in specific places characters could do something but didn’t for the sake of plot. Plus, they don’t know him well and Dream’s very particular with who gets added. He prefers smaller creators so that the Dream SMP can help them grow.
-Dream was on Schlatt’s side because Schlatt gave him something that nobody else could. We don’t know what exactly that was, but it must’ve been very valuable
-Quackity was on Pogtopia’s side because his relationship with Schlatt was essentially toxic and that’s why he left.
-Fundy was never on Manburg’s side, he acted as a spy by himself and aimed to gain trust to take down Schlatt from the inside. Prior to the war, he went to Pogtopia and showed Wilbur and Tommy his book: “A Spy’s Diary” containing 22 (?) pages of him documenting things in Manburg.
-The rest of the citizens of Manburg left because they were tired of their treatment
-Upon realising no one was actually on Schlatt’s side, everyone in Pogtopia decided to take a stand against Schlatt, and that’s why the war happened. Iirc, this is also when they found out Dream switch to Manburg’s side.
-Schlatt died from a stroke/heart attack. A pathetic death fitting for a pathetic man. Like how the button was set up and mentioned, Schlatt’s symptoms were also mentioned in “A Spy’s Diary” and referenced multiple times during the election. There was one instance where Quackity even unplugged Schlatt’s life support. Chekov’s gun.
-Philza didn’t kill Wilbur because that entire portion was “scripted” (the Dream SMP script is more of an outline than anything else). That’s specifically why Phil stood behind Wilbur. Wil was supposed to blow up and Phil was supposed to survive. Of course, things didn’t go to plan so Wilbur asked Philza to kill him (because I’m assuming they had plans for Wilbur to be permadead)
-Speaking of which! I’m not sure whether this was explained in a later video but after death, Wilbur came back as a ghost (Ghostbur) a day or two after the war. Wilbur permadied because of: Punz killing him in the Final Control Room (1), Punz shooting him on Schlatt’s orders after he and Tommy get exiled (2), and Philza stabbing him (3)
-There’s multiple reasons why they can’t have peace on the server, from a real-world perspective, no conflict makes everything kind-of boring. From an in-world perspective, it’s from all of the characters. Dream wants to stir the pot and cause chaos, Tommy doesn’t want to let go of his disks, Techno wants the government gone,,,, non political matters in their world turn political scarily easily and THAT’S why they can’t have peace.
-Storywise, Wilbur doesn’t take armour because he previously wanted to rule with peace. Now, it’s just a lack of self preservation.

I love villain Wilbur because he just doesn't care. He's a psychopath, and he only cares about stopping his symphony from being finished (His "Unfinished Symphony").
But now that Wilbur has been revived and knows that Dream repeated the "unfinishing" of his symphony, I feel that this is what will send Wilbur over the edge. He will either (A) appreciate Dream for making sure the symphony stayed unfinished, and because of that he will join Dream. Or (B) he will feel embarrassed and humiliated by Dream for stealing what seems to be Wilbur's credit or glory or reason for suffering for those years in the afterlife. I feel that this second option would lead to Wilbur either just straight up killing Dream, like he's just swatting a fly (he said he has become *much* more powerful since being revived), or he will have his new country he's creating next to Las Nevadas be specifically used for killing Dream (Wilbur had said that he never cared about L'Manberg, and that he only used it as a tool in his "symphony").

Yeah to preface before, Quackity and Fundy turned against Schlatt, and Schlatt gave Dream a book that we have no idea what’s in it. Dream talked to Pogtopia before the battle and warned of a traitor in their midst and stated he would join Schlatt in the war. I would highly recommend you watch Eret’s video “I lost everything on the dream SMP”, because it shows what happened when Dream threatened and took away Eret’s kingship

As a previous comment stated, Dream joined Shlatt because he gave him something really valuable, we don't know what it is.
Quakity joined pogtopia because Shlatt started becoming an alcoholic/drug addict and pushing people away/down. He also ordered Quakity to take down a building which he himself made (one of the first few of L'manburg) and Quakity obv wasn't onboard.

The reason manburg didn't group up and fight Techno is because... they can't. Techno could fight all of them and win, he came prepared to fight literally the the entire server at the same time, and didn't expect allies when he summoned the withers. You think him giving them that netherite was the best? He purposefully didn't enchant it with protection 5 (which is what makes endgame armour super OP), and the weapons were all the rejects from crafting his own blade, the Orphan Obliterator.
Also re: Schlatt. Right before his death, he's foreshadowing season 2, not the TNT.

At 4:30 he targeted quackery because he was the least armored. Now I know you’re going to say that Wilbur was the least armored, but he’s the leader of Pogtopia. If the leader gets killed then everyone else will start attacking Dream and he would be outnumbered because everyone else has netherite gear. Basically it would be a 1 v many and he would lose. If he went after techno he would be there for a while which would give everyone else time to realize what’s happening and start killing dream.

So things to point out that doesn't spoil some things:
1. Quackity joined Tommy because he was treated unfairly.
2. Dream betrayed Pogtopia because he saw that everyone was technically against shlatt so he joined shlatt's side to balance the fight.
3. Dream most likely went after quackity to show that he's on jshlatt's side and quackity should have stayed with him.
4. In the secret Base techno had collected special Halloween mobs, Harold the Zombified Piglin and fool the skeleton.
5. One of dreams rules are "no duplication glitches" so techno has been grinding for days on end.
6.Yes Wilbur was the traitor but he tried to pin techno as the traitor and phil believed at first.
7. I don't think dream knows who fitmc is so maybe that's why he hasn't joined or fit doesn't want to join the smp.
8. Dream most likely used the command /kill @jshlatt to do the "fell out of the world thing.
