How Much It Cost Me To Service my Husqvarna 701 Supermoto $$$

The bike shop told me my bike was up for a major service once I mentioned it had done 24,000km.

$500 for labor. pretty ridiculous for something that we can do on our own. $45 bucks for a sparkplug 😮

I guess they gotta make a buck to make the business viable, but it was really steep.
It would be more beneficial to use the money on mods and tools

Seems like they used wrong Coolant and wrong oil viscosity. My 701 manual says M3.0 coolant (and it shoud NOT be mixed with M5.0) and 10w50 viscosity oil.

I've noticed the wrong oil myself I'm.not familiar with the Coolant though.....

Oil is no big deal, but you should really flush the cooling system asap, because when two incompatible coolants are mixed they create sediment and corrosive compounds.

Btw I wouldn't recommend those frame sliders for the 701; the ones that mount on the actual frame of the bike. Seen quite a bit of them crack after taking a fall. Think case covers would be a good alternative with the swingarm and fork spools.

Thanks SumoSevn, Noted. I have actually been contemplating taking them of coz I bump my knees into them quite often (which is pretty uncomfortable).

@@afrobykr yea just to second Sumo’s advice. A lot of trellis frames have been fractured and split with these. Makes sense on other bikes but not so much on this. Will keep the nice ergonomic look of the bike too.

I'm 6 foot, and even though I can get both feet on the ground, I still have to tippy toe. She's a tall one compared to other street bikes.
Although, once the bike's moving, height doesn't matter unless one's critically vertically challenged.
When I stop at lights, I always have one foot on the rear brake and the other supporting the bike, which I believe you should be able to do.
Is there a Husky or KTM dealership near you?

I’m not far off your height, maybe a bit taller and the 701 isn’t to tall for me completely stock, I can get both tippy toes on the ground or one flat foot, 0 problem with riding the bike anywhere or anytime
