Roy Hargrove Solo Transcription | "La Puerta"

Roy often doesn't get his due as a fantastic arranger! I really dig this chart on "La Puerta." The recording is a rehearsal with the Dizzy Gillespie All Star band in 2008. Rehearsal recordings often give different insight in some ways than gig recordings(check out the full video link below). You'll spot quite a few heavy hitters in this band if you look closely!

articulation/feel is one of the hardest things to learn in Jazz. I'd recommend finding a solo you like and play along to the recording hundreds of times, and try and sound exactly like it. Record yourself and listen back!
