You opened my eyes to leasing, back in fs19 on the felsbrunn revisited series where you leased items and did the math. I typically harvest my fields then sell my harvester and the lease one until I can afford to buy, with this you set up that harvester and pay over time, much like farmers do.
Remember all, once you go over 20 hours work hours and or 36 months lease time your total payoff stops dropping and the total finance fees go up drastically. I saw that info on another fellas video and he broke the math down very well. And as Always, thanks Farmer Klein for the awesome video!

Majority of farmers don't drop 6 figures on a new tractor or combine. They don't have thay money. Most farm owners lease out equipment with some eventually purchasing that leased equipment. Amazing mod. Huge game changer!

I leased a few items on MWH and had some large fields. Running a leased S790 and a Challenger 1038 my 2.3 hr job cost me nearly $15000.00 to run those two pieces of equipment. So if you really factor in the work per hour you are paying significantly more for the vehicle when that is calculated in (especially on large farms). I like the mod it makes you think and gives a nice since of accomplishment when you have enough to buy them outright. If you are running a large operation, lease maybe just the combine and a sprayer. Do not lease tractors that you are going to use on everyday task or the hourly fees will kill you, especially if you are running a tight budget. The hourly fee is taken out immediately.
I knew if I waited long enough you would do a tutorial on this mod. I read instructions twice could not wrap my head around it figured I wait for you to show us. thanks
@@cavemanbonk8320 the downsides are 1. you cannot change leased equipment configuration, not even the tires 2. you cannot sell it if you need money 3. there is lease limit of 3 years (36 months) - after that you still pay monthly fees, but purchase value does not decrease 4. there is limit of 20 working hours - after reaching it you still pay operational fee, but purchase does not decrease. Leasing after 3 years and 20 hours of operating will ultimately cost you more, to the point you should end leasing and lease another piece of equipment.

Interesting mod and I’ll be giving it a try but I’m kind of disappointed there doesn’t seem to be a downside to leasing to own. IRL buying out right is a larger initial investment but in the end is less expensive than buying out your lease. If the mod reflected this higher cost then there would still be situations where buying out right makes more sense. I’ll give the mod a try but I’m concerned that rather than adding a real option to the game it adds an always choose this option
you have the lease orgination fees which will of course drive up the cost but ya usually leasing has other downsides but if you think about all those hourly costs on something. If you lease to own something that you put alot of hours on the hours you put on it dont drop the lease to own purchase price just the days you have leased it so there are your extra costs.
The downside is if you lease 10 items, you'll probably pay 20k-40k per month, so you would need to be selective on what you lease incase you don't make enough money, If your not making more than your leasing then you wont be able to buy more fields ect.? Might be wrong, but this what im thinking (I havnt tried it yet)
The mod does reflect that higher cost. Not including the initial fee for the lease itself or the additional fees for the hours worked, you can see during the review that each day he sleeps and looks at the updated purchase price the following morning, the new purchase price is not reducing by the full $935 amount of the daily leasing fee....it's only going down about $883 each time. There is definitely a premium for going this route and in the end you will end up paying more than what the initial purchase price was, but that premium might make sense in certain cases where you don't have the full funds for an outright purchase straight away.
This is great! Now we need a business loan credit mod so players aren't allowed to expand too fast into big equipment without completing a few smaller leases. Whats stopping someone from getting the best of the best equipment at the start of the game and just making so much money? Unless you want to play that way, of course. I play a bit more realistic and work my way up the chain of horsepower.
Hi Farmer Klein, The purchase price also reduces depending on the hours on the vehicle not just how much you've paid in daily fees. To test I leased 2 vehicles the same then edited the vehicle xml to add hours to one of them and it had a lower purchase price than the other.
Can this mod be added to an existing game save without causing problems or should it only be used on new game save? looks promising and thanks for a great review.
It can be added to any savegame and remove without repercussion - all calculation is done at the moment of purchase leased equipment, and then the result is stored in standard game files.
Not really a mod that interests me but you’re the man when it comes to these reviews so I can understand them. Lately though my game crashes if I try and save the game when finished and then the game save is gone when starting game again. I can retrieve the game save but the time is screwed up and I end up redoing work already done on whatever map I’m on. I’m going to delete course play and auto save next. Really frustrating. I don’t use any 3 rd party mods. Everything is from mod hub. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Any way of finding out which mod maybe the problem one? Thanks.
Look at your log.txt file in the FarmingSimulator22 folder and see if something stands out. Other than that its a process of pulling things out until you find the combo that does not like eachother.
I'm still not sure about it. Why you do not lease the harvester for 3 months and then return it? 1) you don't need to repair it (repaint it) 2) If leasing takes 8 years to get to value, then leasing it for 3 months per year means 32 years till I overpay. Am I wrong?
IM saying use the lease to own mod to lease all your big ticket stuff up front vs taking out a huge loan to buy it outright. then you have more money ot invest in farmland or production at the start. making smaller payments per month when you have renough money you can start to buy out the leases to own the equipment with out breaking the bank and you have some value already in the equpment based on your previous payments vs returning it for 0 value back and buying it at full cost.
I think it's a great mod, but I personally think final total cost should be higher to balance it vs buying outright (only slightly, given it still charges per work hour too)
@@danielrivera1833 yeah, even the cost per work hour won't really matter for most pieces of equipment, it I think it should be up to 50% more total cost not counting the cost per hour
There are a few ways you can do this. I edited the LUA so that for every work hour I pay out, I'll receive a credit of half. So if a work hour is $1,000, and I put 20 work hours on before purchasing, I only get a $10,000 discount instead of $20,000.
Why? If you lease to own a tractor in real life the total cost, if you buy it out, is not very much more than the initial purchase price. Sometimes it's even less, depending on what the interest rates are at the time and how badly they want it off the lot. To make things harder, they should change the loans. Short term - higher interest and pay it off anytime you want. Long term - lower interest, but locked in for the term or a penalty for paying it out early. Just like real life.
The mod is cool. Leasing a lot of stuff that you will never buy, is maybe not so cool. So you better be sure that you in the future really want what you lease...

Ya i get it. I was not taking it direct. Just saying how I was using it. At some point in the save I will buy things I am leasing to lower my monthly costs but right now that buy out amount goes down every month I keep them around.
Do you know how to edit animal trailer capacity? I'm trying to make the silverstar hold 50 cattle and 240 pigs/sheep to be closer to real life. I have added slots under animals in Giants editor and edited the XML to match but I can't get it to load into the game.

Ya, each day i was like ok ill make a mod video for this then a map or two drops and it pushed everything back. Then farmcon and so forth.

Now all we need is a mod that will allow us to customize vehicles that are leased.

According to mod description you would end up paying aroun 2% more for the item in question with lease to own.

my question is will the daily charge be different if you play for more the 1 day season
its supposed to adjust so the lease is the same cost per month so 2 day month the daily lease cost should be half that of 1 day month.

You have to edit the xml and ge. Its super painful as every animal has a node in the trailer.

If you keep the lease for the full 100 days, are you able to purchase it for free?
I'm pretty sure that's how it works, the final purchase price goes down by the least cost per day, so you should be able to as far as I can tell
