Was fairly disappointed with slurry, couldn’t even get one pass before I ran out of 22k Litres of the stuff. Where a 43m width solid spreader can do 5 full fields with 20k
I guess it's because the slurry/manure is a "free" byproduct fertiliser (need to buy/maintain animals ofcourse....) and solid/liquid fertiliser cost money to buy...
A set up for the saddel is the solid tank on top and pulling the semi slurry tank. That will give 20k more then what the trailer tank can hold.. We be using it is I got the trailer that comes with it and my partner has the fixed tank and semi trailer for field work... She will be spreading the slurry and I will be running to keep her stocked in the fields... When I did set up, I was giggling like a school girl when I seen her unit could have the 10k mounted tank and the semi trailer holds like 15k more then my trailer.. In hopes the mounted tank will be the back up and I run from farm to fields to transfer into her semi trailer... I also have the spreader arms attached to the front of he saddle tractor unit so she has better viability on where/how she is lineing up.
I would assume so yes. That is usually the idea behind the silo extension category in that it extends the capacity of your storage of the same type. It does need to be placed somewhat close to the animal pen I would suspect.
Yes it works with liquid manure extensions, got smaller one with pigs (+500k litres) and big one with cows (2,6mil litres) but one on pigs is almost full and i dont have use for it so far, i guess im gonna have to use bga and sell it.
ok dumb question for you. If I have more than one animal pen (1 cow barn and 1 pig pen) do I need 2 manure silo extensions or can I just place one between them?
Haven't tried manure but slurry isnt that useful cause it takes 48k to double apply on field 56. Not sure if its bug or thats how it is. Maybe manure works better?
Typically manure and slurry have a much higher application rate than the other fertilizers so when yo do double application rate and it slows your tractor down to half then ya you will burn through it alot quicker as application is based on time not distance.
I'm new to FS22 so this could be absolute ignorance on my part but I don't see the point in buying the biogas plant to create digestate if slurry and manure have the same exact effect. It seems like you lose a sell point for silage that way and it's not clear how much you'd make from sale of electricity and biomethane. Am I missing something?
Think of the biogas plant like any other production: you input a base material to eventually receive a more profitable product. In this case, exchanging silage (or cut beets/manure/slurry) to receive methane and electricity which are auto-sold. Digestate is a nice by-product as both a fertilizer and as a potential input of another factory (mod-only factories, currently).
I bought a biogas plant and gave up with the digestate. The cheapest fertiliser spreader in the base game has a massive working width and is really cheap to buy, it takes something special to beat it. If you go the digestate route, you're looking at spending at least £100k on usable equipment (tanker and spreader arms) and even then the extra time spent because of smaller working width, it just isn't worth it imo. I can trundle round most fields in just a couple of minutes with my spreader. Giants should have added a 5% buff on crops if you use 2 different types of fertiliser to encourage investing in the alternatives. I have biogas plant set to auto-sell my digestate. It definitely makes me plenty of money if I keep it topped up with silage. I agree it would be nice to know how much you are getting paid for the electricity and biomethane.
Question. If I planted oilseed radish and got the first fert status when drilling the seed, can I still use slurry to get the second stage of fertilization? Thank you for all your informative videos, I've been learning a lot.
If you planted oilseed then there is no need to fertilize because when you cultivate it under you will get a fertilization stage. Oilseed is not a harvestable crop but instead a crop designed to be used as a cover crop from say Autumn to Spring and then till it under as you prep for spring planting.
do you need to spread your slurry or manure before your field grows too much to be able to drive on? so would you need to spread the slurry and manure just a bit after planting as you cant get narrow tires on any of them. Also would you get more for your slurry and manure if you pass your field twice or does that not matter? great video too thanks
So this was a big help by also I preordered fs22 and when I got to PlayStation store it shows It’s purchased claas saddle trac but in the mod hub it doesn’t show that I have it installed and it doesn’t show up in game I’ve already deleted and re-downloaded the game but it still doesn’t work?
No there both the same as far as field and yeld benifit. Manure is just slurry with straw mixed in to its more soild. In FS19 with the seasons mod you got one or the other but in base game FS22 you always get slurry and you get manure if you add straw and the manure silo extension. The advantage over organic over purchased fertilizer is that you one dont have to buy it if you have cows or pigs they produce it and two you can set it to double application rate. One pass and you get both feralization states. In base game FS22 you cant do that with mineral/chemical fertilizers.
@@FarmerKlein ahh OK, I hadn't realised that slurry was always being made regardless of whether you add straw or not. Like you say, fs19 seasons didn't work like that. The double application feature is pretty useful though.
@@FarmerKlein Does adding straw to get the solid manure reduce the amount of slurry you get? And if so is it still a net positive for doing so or because solids may be easier to work with?
I dont know about slurry production being dropped if you also make manure. One would think right but I have not payed attention. There both fairly easy to handle now since you can fill manure with the tap of a button.
Instead of using a scoop, you can just back up a trailer to the icon beside the manure head and you can hit fill trailer button on what system you are using.
Bit late but had to lol at this, he explains it literally 2.5 seconds after showing the scoop, scoop would just be for immersion/rp he was just showing it works
Great video. is there a way to use “ai refill” from owned digestate from bga? Similar to manure & slurry from animal pens…only thing holding me back from using the bga 100%
if there is it will most likely be in the settings where you set workers to either buy fertilizer or refill from animal pens automatically, it might pop up there if you own bga and have some digestate. I dont use bga anymore since i got almost 700k litres of slurry and over 400k litres of manure and i dont know what to do with it so far since it doesnt take much to fertilize all the fields i have (6 fields that i use manure for and 11 fields in total including 2 grass fields, 1 with olives and grapes and one with sugarcane, basically whole top right corner of Haut-Beyleron from field 24 to biomass heating plant. i guess i need more fields).

Is there any option to pump slurry from one trailer to another?
See this is why I like this game what you think you know isn't lol. New ways to do things. I stopped playing 19 and fully am in to 22 because I thought thexway to do things would be diferent. Everything I find something or in this case watch a video I am excited about the newness lol I hope you do more vids on these little secrets 😊

Disappointed that you can't AI the baling though, but even then the ai would mess that up. Makes for funny conversation playing with friends like when they run into a pole and you blame Jimmy for drinking too much the night before cause his gf left him.
I had it get hung up in a tree and had to detach it and everything worked with out it. I think you have to have it to unload it maybe but as far as application it works without it
There is the sell everything mod on the Giants mod hub. It buys well... everything. farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&country=us&mod_id=236140&title=fs2022
Is there No Way to store the slurry ? Cuz barn keep getting full all the time ? I put down one of those circle pens to store liq manu but it won’t let me add it from the slurry tank.
If you add the slurry silo extension it should add its capacity to the animal pen you add it close to. If you add just the slurry silo I dont see why you could not take a slurry transport trailer and fill it from the pen and unload it onto the slurry silo. You likely cant overload using a slurry spreader you need to use a slurry transport tank.
I think the game lacks alot of animations, like when you're filling or reloading, you do not get any hoses or see anything leaving the tanker or trailers except at the silos or grain mills.. Most of the time you will see products going right thru the ground and into nothing.. But when you filling water or any other liquid, you don't have a animation at all.. Atleast in FS19 we had some hose connections to the trailer/tanker and so on.. Cattle and crops have even movable hoses that visually flex and moves as you load/unload... And that's a old game, but giants couldn't work things like that into FS22... The screens in the game are mostly "stickers" or still pics...
Any real life farmers, I would like to know. Seems to me that actual slurry would be really really really rich. That you would fill your slurry tank with 3/4 water and 1/4 slurry. Just for round numbers there. How this game is sort of weird to me as a Turfgrass manager, you wouldn't ever dump any source of N on the site without a plant being available to take up the plant. Maybe just a little as the seeds get going. Organics are very slow release, so I could possibly see doing a light rate with organics, but doubling up on the rate would be overkill and nitrogen leaching due to volatility or through soil water if there's a lot of rain. I assume the game makers are strictly making it where you can't add water for an economic trade off with in the game mechanics because if you were able to be some kind of megafarmer who had thousands of pigs and cattle and free fertilizer then you're just making straight Bank as an organic slurry application is far more cheaper than non-organic, chemical fertilizers. That's the tradeoff is the labor time/ bulkiness/odor problems with slurry. With chemical fertilizers, they're quicker, less bulky, easier handling, faster to apllicate, but waaaay more expensive, and faster releasing. Esp if you get into more poly-coated ureas for slower release, then the price skyrockets. But not being to add a carrier (water) to slurry, seems very odd to me as that's the way all fertilizers in my realm are bought and applied. Concentrate added to water . That simple. Also, are the slurries processed before they're applied for smoothness of the liquid not gunking up the nozzles or they just let it sit for a while until it's "poopoo water" 😆
This is pretty cool. And thanks for the whole "how to" series. Giants should use your vids as tutorials

There cheap and small in size. no slurry as they go on the ground where it is absorbed by the earth vs collected in a building management system.
