    Being a business guy and a bit of a miserly one, I like to play in a way that forces me to be careful. Starting out with pretty bad stuff, small fields, living in my car. Its more fun having a knuckle biting time of it in the beginning. Or even making a huge mistake. You learn that way. My wife and I do multi-player and she just adds cash through easy dev tool. She plays a completely different style that me. We both have fun.

I told them just to have fun and buy equipment, try stuff, just screw around. Then, when you pretty much understand what is going on you can play for real. I remember a few major mistakes I made in the beginning, and I still continue to make them mow and then. Nothing is irreversible, even planting the wrong crop...lol...

    From the category of manual work (not cheats or buildings with passive income), I suggest immediately dedicating one of your smaller fields to trees for woodchips. In the early game, oaks fully grow in around a year and a single tree yields around 20k woodchips. If you store it in train silos and sell in january, that's around 450k earned from one 1k box of saplings. So basically your only costs are the equipment (tractor, planter, woodchip machine) and the time you spend working. But in early game you won't have anything else to do in the winter months anyway.
    The downside of oaks is that they can only be manually cut down. So for mid/late game you can plant spruce which take significantly longer to fully grow and only yield about half the amount per tree, but you can cut them with the big automatic harvesters, pull them to the woodchip cutter and drop them on its conveyor belt. You don't even need to remove the branches first, just drop the entire tree with shift+x and the woodchip machine will automatically pull it in all the way.

    Tip from personal experience, if you're going to sell off your buildings for cash, make sure you don't have vehicles or tools in our around them. A bunch of my stuff ended up in the holes that appeared underneath where the buildings used to be and I had to use the land shaping tools to level things out to recover my stuff.

    For grass/silage, there's a couple improvements over the advice given here.
    For initial planting there are weeders and rollers which also seed grass.
    For collecting the grass, use a front mounted mower on your tractor, and a baler with combined wrapper on the back, you can do it all in one pass.
    Instead of fertilising again, buy a grass roller, you'll get the 100% fertilised state without paying for expensive fertiliser.
    Don't wait the extra day, as yes you'll get more per harvest this way, you'll get less harvests per year, up to 5 harvests of grass per year is possible if you do your last one of the calendar year in November.
    Which results in a higher yearly total harvest.

    Fertilizing contract to get bit money, then buy Greenhouses, they go fastest. Then expand with more. 4-5. Easy money and cost almost nothing. Then chickens and pigs for sale. Weird thing is that fields do not make any money if you have to rent equipment… you need big fields then with cotton or so. Small fields dont make anything, just use the space for animals and greenhouses.

  • @AlexAugustinex
    @AlexAugustinex Год назад +14

    My method - harvest that first field, level it out, and just build 5+ Large Greenhouses and fill them with water. Sell other tools or buildings and sell the lettuce or tomato (I don't suggest strawberries) in Jan or February when the price is high. You don't even need a loan. Greenhouses are Gold mines. Use the money to place Large Chicken coops and Sheeps.Only get to crops when you can afford large fields and equipment. Also do F71 Grass bailing Contracts at the start.

    I have 4 large greenhouses and 1 outside garden with seeds/fertilizer set to sell, it pays all my maintenance cost every night and gives me extra 5k to 10k to boot. I have found loading pallets with a front end loader to be quite the pain, so I just eat the penalty. There have been some tests done as far as cutting grass. If you wait until it is labeled as grass you get 3 cuts, but at 3/3 chaff, you get 5 cuts. in the end, the 5 cuts will net you more bales of silage. My one grass field nets me an extra 20 bales with 5 cuts.

    I'm surprised you didn't mention animal productions. IF starting money is little to no object, chickens are a huge bang for the buck. BUT...You need LOTS of chickens. Like 16 large chicken coops. But then you just add feed every month and the eggs are stupid profitable. Milk is the most profitable, but also the most expensive to set up. Wool is also a winner. Pigs and horses...in my experience not so much...But chickens are by far the easiest and the best place to start.

    I just got this game 2 days ago because it is free on Epic at the moment. At least the base game is. I noticed on the harvesting contracts, the last little bit you deliver goes to you. Aside from not trashing your own equipment, every time I've done it so far the money it gives you far exceeds the rental costs. And yeah, even as a noob to FS22 I bought fertilizing equipment so fertilizer contracts are really a no brainer.
    I've also found out that using the starter Elmwood Farm for grass, is like the stupidest thing you can do. Unlike FS17 (the game I have played alot, I skipped FS19) where grass/silage can make a profit right out of the gate using your starting resources and land.

    I found in Osiada that baling contracts are broken. They pay alot and you can mow over the boundries and get more bales. The silage bales turn instantly to silage. And if you need to you can keep the extra either hay or silage bales bales when you need them. I made like 100 to 200 thousand in just those contracts in a year. And they are small fields.

    another tip, if you want to make money in forestry you could start broke (or close too) and lease the equipment id suggest saving to buy it asap though since it cost around 10k-20k upfront to lease the expensive equipment daily youll probably spend around 10k for a cutter and a log loader per day unless you hire workers for hauling. if all you do is harvest wood to start slow the time down, increase days per month max.. you profit more per month itll effect the numbers you see. on 4 days a month i think i averaged around 400k and spent like 80k on leased equipment then i baught a loader for equipment and suddenly leasing was around 40k

    My tip would be buy a pickup truck and a zoom boom/tractor with front loader. They will become your best friends. They’re super versatile and can help with everything. Want to move pallets? Zoom boom, want to sell said pallets? Pickup truck. Want to load and sell bales without dropping $20k on a bale loader? Use the zoom boom to load them into your pickup. Want to haul water? The $3000 pickup trailer. Want to log? Use the zoom boom to load logs into your pickup. The tractor front loader has a few more tools than the zoom boom does and is more cost efficient. But the utility and amount of weight the boom can carry slightly edges it out for me, plus they’re more maneuverable and can reach farther and higher so you can store pallets on the top racks in your barn. I paid off my zoom boom and pickup (bought used) in 8 in game months.

    With harvesting contracts you have to pay for the fertilizer yourself so unless you have a BGA and free ferralizer, it's going to profit less then you think.
    Best was to get loads of quick money (and cheaty way) is doing baling contracts. Lease the equipment for less profit. Make all the bales, store them to turn into silage and cancel the contract. You just leased the equipment for free, with 0 payout. Then, when silage, sell the bales and you're up 50k or so. When doing this with harvesting contracts you'll have to pay a fine for missing resources but this isn't the case with bales. (:

    I see you forget the Forestry DLC Platinum edition I believe. now Forestry's a trap as the cash in the start is a slow trickle, BUT they have Iron & 2 mostly flat cheep properties with no fields where you can make a Yard. your going to want to buy one of these plots & place an Iron Furnace, then go to the Iron mine & fill up the free truck with the free wheel loader fill your Iron furnace up then sleep next day load a flat bed with the resulting metals fill up the dump truck again then take your sheet Metal spools over to the train rent the train & load up the flatbed car with that then sell to elmcreek when the price is over $6,000 per L (Its rarely ever under that price) I recommend having the mod: upgradeable Factories (currently not an MP mod not sure why) but per day by default a single Iron furnace can produce 5 to 9 pallets each day that's 9,000L & sold for a minimum of $6,000 per L that's $54,000 per day per Iron furnace & that one Iron mine every 2 days supplies roughly 138,000L of Raw Iron Ore so you can fill one of these plots with furnaces & make serious bank from the train IF you can find an auto load general cargo container mod that's compatible with train sell points, you can sell up to 2 standard height 45ft containers & make 1mill per day & its fast cash if you set up correctly.

    ran some tests on Elmcreek new farmer, easy economy. Take your 100,000 and buy 8 large greenhouses and the big water trailer. Set them up on 46, it will take a few bucks for landscaping but you will be left with a few thousand to keep you afloat. Take your tank trailer over to the pond for free water. Grow whatever you want, just 1 crop per greenhouse though. Put everything on selling. That''s it, walk away. Go do contract work, sell your equipment, seed a crop on your field, whatever. In one year you will have DOUBLED your initial investment without doing anything. Your large greenhouses will need topped off around June. Definitly not the only way to earn cash, and maybe not the most profitable, but certainly the easiest.

      I generally have ai workers do field work, and if I have stuff that the ai can't do that needs doing, I do that in the meantime, like loading pallets, moving equipment, things like that, saves from having it sell automatically, but greenhouse produce so much volume and are suck low price per 1,000L it's just not worth it to not sell automatically

    • @seanobrien7169
      @seanobrien7169 Год назад

      @@cavemanbonk8320 Honestly it all boils down to the kind of game you are playing and where you are at financially. I look at the selling option the same way I look at AI workers. I am the boss, I have employees. I have to pay those employees. Either I do the work myself at the expense of limited time or I pay others to do the work and delegate my workload freeing me up to do more supervising. Yes...It is a game and I could theoretically spend 20+ IRL hours on each month loading and moving pallets...but why? I make millions a month, that is not bragging because it is a stupid thing to brag about. ANYONE can do massive productions and make that kind of game money, it is just the style I play. But when you are playing this style you don't wait for price fluctuations or worry about losing a percentage by having the work done for you. It is about administration and overseeing. Not for everyone, many prefer the survival approach. I get that. Then every penny does matter and you have to change strategy.

  • @mpbMKE
    @mpbMKE 2 месяца назад +3

    I play the hard mode, where they start you with no property and $200k in debt, so I guess I'm not selling stuff to start. 😅
    I do take as many contracts as I can early, and I try to match them up with whatever equipment I need to buy for the first fields I purchase. Then I'll use them as an excuse to buy the stuff I know I'll eventually need, like plows and cultivators or a small harvester. Even factoring in fuel, I think the maintenance on 3-4 contracts (depending on the size and type) comes to roughly the average rental cost of one of them. Definitely worth it for the bigger contracts, though, especially if you only have tiny equipment and you're trying to service a 10+ acre field. Can sometimes be worth hiring an AI worker for medium-to-large contracts so you can handle the smaller ones with beginner equipment on your own simultaneously, and still get a decent payout.
    I really like the greenhouse idea. I hadn't explored those yet, but they don't feel too spammy compared to some of these tips.

    They really cut back the contracts from 19 and I used to make a fertilizer route with the Kuhn seeder on front and a CVT Medium tractor with the fert spreader on the back and make bank. In my real lawn business I'm really careful spending... on this game Yolo... you borrow big, lease big, and return everything including land.
    Here's the way you make money. In real life, if someone gives you incredibly cheap interest, you borrow all you can. This game's borrow rate is stupid low.
    Max out the loan every day. buy the land of ANYTHING of the crops needing harvested, make the game real time when it's beet and potato season. Harvest and store in the trains .
    LEASE EVERYTHING, BUY LAND. there's no penalty for selling and purchasing land. If there's chaff and you can row it, like wheat and oats. Make a huge pile of it with a forage wagon, set it on the land that's your "home". Wait to sell it at in the winter. After you've finished harvesting and have done the last possible thing, sell it.
    Do contracts that have a huge tractor and don't ever collect. You'll end up owning the tractors and they won't need repairs. It's a glitch.
    I can see you owning a 3500 series truck, the Man truck, 3 tractors, 1 at least 300 hp, and a mid sized CVT with a front end loader. But at the end of the day, the math works out of you play slowly day to day, by just leasing everything. And when you do potatoes and beats rent the dedicated machines, even 2 of them if you have to and return at the end of the day.
    Before midnight, sell all the land and return your implements, then return all the money to the bank.
    Get to cattle and have greenhouses. Greenhouses are cheap and provide Winter income.
    Also, baling silage is the easiest overall imo. Grass regrows itself. For silage you don't have to tedder. do the round baler that does the 150 ml silage bales. Rent the trailer that picks them up. Mow with the pull behind or the expensive Krone that rows the grass clippings. It's really a 3 step process. Mow, bale, pick up silage bales and wait until December to sell them. The bunker process seems bunk to make silage. This is easy, and when you go cows, you can make a batch of the small silage bales and throw one in most the TMR mixers and it's a good start to your mixing process.
