Beautiful build! Perfect location. I have had a lot of fun creating my new farms in all three maps. I am glad to see it is not just me, having to spend so much time with terrain sculpting. I get SO frustrated when I try everything to make the roads and driveways smooth. Sometimes it works for me, and sometimes I make it worse. It’s a mess! lol I have to learn with practice, I guess, but flatter land starting out seems to help a bit. Thanks for sharing your beautiful farm build process.
Thanks! It took me a bit to find the right spot to build the perfect farm build. Definitely starting out with flatter land helps. The game seems to make massive swings when trying to use the landscaping tools. Overall still an improvement over past FS games. That’s the beauty of farming simulator, not every road or terrain have to be perfectly sculpted, like it is in real life. But I know you can spend hour trying to fix a road or terrain but at the end the results are gratifying !
@@eduardorivas1708 So true! I always try to start out with flat area, but recently I've been challenging myself with uneven terrain and hopefully making more life-like farms with character!
Another place I'd recommend building on is the west side of field 73. It took a lot of terrain leveling to flatten it out, but its soo much space I managed to fit one of each animal pen as well as a section for a lot of green houses. Additionally had room for a bunch of barns and storage sheds. It's been a great location. This one in the video looks fantastic! Might have to do something like this for my Angus beef farm next!
@@MrCblase Thank you for the comment. I will check that area out! Seems like a nice big location for a mega farm! That's what's great about Elmcreek, something for everyone! So from someone growing up in the midwest and around farms all my life, round the edges where your farm roads meet the grass. Foot paths leading to and around the house are fine to be straight edges, but in the farm yard itself those edges are rounded by equipment running over them. For edges gravel pads/roads, add a very thin layer of dirt around the gravel pad between it and the grassy areas. Farm hands and farmers often run the equipment near the edges of the pads, or park trailers/trucks there so the edges often turn to mud. You can add meddow grass over the dirt to simulate a 'damaged' area that is starting to recover. For edge of concrete slabs, doing a thin painting of gravel is suggested as the edges of concrete get broken off and crushed by heavy farm equipment. Also, IRL a layer of sand then gravel is placed down and then packed down before the concrete is laid overtop, so you sometimes see some of that gravel along the edges of a slab. Again, dont be afraid of meddow grass here and there in the gravel. Shrubs against storage buildings are common in the US midwest as well. The placement of the greenhouses would be problematic for traffic IRL. Too easy for a tractor to be backed into them or something to swing into them and damage them. Those usually would be placed away from the main farm traffic and protected with fencing. I'd also download the following mods: Tools: Power Tools Freeze Time Real Mower PAINT and TerraForm anywhere Place Fences Anywhere Decorations: Large Groundstains Placeable Tire Tracks Natural Water Rivers and Ponds Pack Deco Stones Bridge Set Placeable Powerlines Decorative Details Pack Placeable Object Pack First, Power Tools will let you give and take away money, perfect for setting up your farm and then you can remove the left over so you can have a more real playing experience. Give yourself 30 - 40 Million. Next, Freeze Time. Go into settings and change the time rate to 0.5 (which effectively stops time). After the farm is built, turn the time rate back to whatever you like. The Paint and terraform tool will allow you to work on land you don't 'own'. So that little streambed between yourself and the farm equipment dealership, you could now edit that terrain. I'd make it level across the stream, then take a Bridge from the bridge pack and see where the 'edges' of the bridge are, then lower the terrain in the middle, soften the edges and place the bridge. Real Mower will let you cut the grass around the farm on land you don't own. This way you don't get unrealistic straight edges of your mowing. Place Fences Anywhere will let you place the fences against or inside other objects. Perfect for mods with fence or ranch gates. Large Groundstains will help 'dirty up' the farm gravel/concrete and make it look used, like a real farm. Same with the Placeable tire tracks. Just know, these only work on level ground. Natural Water Rivers and Ponds pack is great for adding water to the streambed. Just place this last otherwise you are always getting the collision error when doing other work. Placeable Powerlines...I mean, midwest US, very few farms have underground power to their buildings so power has to get to the buildings/farms somehow :) Deco Stones is great for adding details to a stream/creekbed, also for painted gravel areas where you want more detail. The Decorative Details pack has a bunch of items to place around the farm to make it more immersive. The Placeable Object Pack has large rocks that are great for adding 'waterfalls' and natural dams to your streambed.

I 100% agree, I understand why it doesn't but it sure would be nice to go back one or 2 steps. But trust me this version of landscaping is so much better than the last 2 versions of the game.

A couple things is missing, but otherwise a nice little setup... A cow dung silo, a slurry pit and space to store bales for feed. Perhaps also a garage for long vehicles. But you could snag a bit of the field opposite from the cow pen and build some more storage facilities there

Yes, a couple....but this was built in the 1st week of the game when there were very limited amount of mods available. I am pretty sure all the buildings are base game at least.
Sure did, this was in the 1st couple of weeks the game was out. I didn't know that Giants separated the slurry/manure from the barns. If I were to build it again, I'd put them either next to the small shop or replace the small shop.
I thought the same thing in FS19, when landscaping was so much harder & not as easy to fix. But with FS22 it is much easier to change mistakes with their tools.
I decided not to go with the other farm sorry.. I’m not really gonna get mods because I’m a big fan of the base game farm stuff only 2-3 mods kubota dlc truck and kubota equipment back hope you understand..
¡¡¡UN FUERTE ABRAZO!!! ¡Gracias por el impresionante comentario! Me alegro de que te haya gustado este vídeo. ¡Asegúrese de revisar mi granja construir lista de reproducción para todas mis otras construcciones!
I appear to be missing all the plants in the decorations area. I have just the meadow grass and a few bushes, but none of the flowers and such. Any ideas what that could be or how I can fix that ??
I'm sorry you are having a hard time with decorations. I'm not sure why you are missing those items. My 1st guess would be a mod conflict. Try unchecking mods at the start especially ones that deal with terrain and buildings. After that make sure you have the most up-to-date game version. I'm betting it's a mod conflict though. I hope this help & I hope you consider subscribing to my channel!
First start off find land that's already level. Second, level if you need to but only where it absolutely needs it. Third, the building with show you if it will raise or lower your land before you place it...if you don't like it then move it until you are happy or pick something else. Fourth, change your brush size & switch between tools until it fits what you are looking for. 5th live with it, make it part of your farm. Klutch says quite often no real life farm is perfect...why get down on yourself when you can't make it perfect. I have a farm build coming out in a few weeks where I do just that!
Thanks, I agree as well. In the second farm build video I took over the adjacent field and could do the same in the future. My plans for that field is grass only anyway.
Yeah, I did too in FS19. I hated building or adding buildings in FS19 and it always messed up the farm. But now, it's so easy and you can your farm look just how you want! Give it a try!
Looks good for small farm operation but my farm is big farm operation. Although I have same area as you. I have to terraform mine. I just finally got a PS5 & havingbto rebuild my farm. So basically moving farming operation from ps4 to PS5 but basically on ps5 having to rebuild again. So I had 5 cow barns, probably going 4 cause I'm going to have a sheep this time again. I had sheep before but got tired of them but since going to PS5 they also produce milk which they didn't before. So going back to sheep too. 1) 4 - 240 cowbarns 2) 2 Large Pig Styes 3) 3 - Chicken coupes holds I think it was 400 or 500 chickens Last time I had largest grain silo. 6 tier silo. Yea my farms huge. Large Farming operation. 😀
Thanks! I tried a mega farm on FS 19th right before FS 22 came out & it wasn't for me. But that's what's awesome about this game. Gotta love it, Hit that like button & be sure to check out my other builds and leave a like & comment on those as well.
@@MattDontPlay Thanks, yea. I don't know if I'm a mega farm or not but I do definitely simulate running a pretty good size Dairy farm. I called Diamond Dairy Farm. I like the ring too it & I was making videos on it from time to time & keeping my real last name private. Although I'd love to use my last name on it. Better to call it something else then to use my actual real last name & keep it private from off the internet as much as possible. Once I get the farm built up to my standards I'll record a new tour of it again. So you'll get to see mine some time too.
Completely understand cause I was that way with FS19 and only played map in 19 that were already set up how I liked them. But I do think this version is much better for building than in the past with way more tools. Either way keep playing farming simulator my friend!
If you haven't already download the Perfect Elmcreek Farm Build savegame from my linktree in the About section. Once you have that you have to copy the contents out of the folder and choose a savegame folder from the FS22 main file location. Then paste it into that savegame file. The open the game like normal, I find the new savegame in your career section. I hope that helps.
If you are using the in game farm house it will always do that because it has a lower level that it's accounting for, no matter how flat your land is. Search the mod hub for a farm house pack. The house itself is flat and will fix your issue.
Hey Noah, I will try and help as best I can. At a fuel station like Garyson's you might have to try a both sides of the truck/trailer to find the right fill location. If you are at a placeable fuel container, then you will have to fill that container 1st then figure out which side the truck or trailer fills from. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your comment, some of it is my OCD. This was my 1st build and I thought everything had to be perfect. Hence the name...😂 😂 😂 Keep watching all my videos and I see if I can get away from the straight line.
Find you game files of your PC, most likely in your Documents>My Games>Farming Simulator 22>Savegame#. Pick a savegame number that you aren't using. Copy my entire savegame files from the download & paste them into your empty savegame. Start your game as normal & pick the corresponding number and have fun playing this farm!
Definitely keeping this field in mine. As soon as I get enough money to actually do anything with. I'll highly consider Field or in this case Lot 34 as primary grounds for building a farm on it. I take it your on PC ? I wonder how I can change the brush type in ps4 fs22
That's great! That's why I made this video to share my build & show others of a perfect location for a farm! Hopefully you will share your build when you get to it! Yes I'm on PC but I'm here to help! Change cursor size on ps4 is right on the directional pad.
@@MattDontPlay ohh ok. Yea cause before yours. I was watching someone build there's over down there by I believe it was 53 or so. You'd definitely had to play with the terrain. Cause it was up on a hill. Like you said though, yours is better cause it's on a flatter terrain. My planes are to have cow farm & of course raise wheat & the other stuff. I've been watching 10th gen farmer. Want a farm similar to his but of my own. Probably going utilize both fields. There's also a big cover shed I've noticed too on that one street. Thinking of parking my harvesters over there in that shed. It's already part of the map. Like I said its huge enough for big equipment. So I'll keep my harvesters over there when not in use. Have a garage on the farm for my common use tractors. have a place for my silage stores. Yea I'll figure out a way to share it of course.
@@MattDontPlay but yea thanks for sharing. It's been unique trying to find a good spot to actually start a farm on Elm Creek. Still going to use initial spot they gave us for some things. But it wont be where my main house farm is placed. Be more used for like tractor or equipment storage as well as possibly some more green houses & equipment sheds for that part of town.

Thanks for the comment. I don't disagree with your statement, but I have played several hours on this build and the only time I had issues with semi's around the farm was when I let the helpers loose on the yard. haha
Interesting. I started with that one, and tried to build to the right of the larger field, but the hill made it all weird. I then purchased #18, cleared a bunch of trees and put the house, a silo, a 3 spot shed, and a cow barn with entry off the road on the left. Eventually sold #25, and bought #'s 15, 16, 17 and 19.
On PC using the keyboard...the M key increases the brush size and the N Key decreases the brush size. Also the V key changes from square to circle or vise versa
nice look and layout but its not designed for if you have real big equipment if you could even fit it at all they would be very tight corners and turn arounds.
Thanks for your comment. I will admit it's a little tight around the farm. My hope was just to build a farm and hopefully inspire others to build their own farm however they want to.
You're absolutely right, this was my very first farm build ever & when I made the video I had only played a few days. And didn't know at the time they separated the slurry & manure from the cow barns. If you download & play this map there are a few places left to add those things around the farm yard.

Great location! Great build. I’m a stickler for roadway connection vs “trail” road.
Thank you, absolutely & same here! If you enjoy this kind of FS22 content please consider subscribing to my channel. More farm builds coming soon.
The things that landscaping made needs is an undo button to repair things that get messed up
I 100% agree, I understand why it doesn't but it sure would be nice to go back one or 2 steps. But trust me this version of landscaping is so much better than the last 2 versions of the game.
Just subscribed! Amazing work, looking forward to seeing more builds. Keep it up🙂
Thank you for subscribing! I have a build in the can just waiting to be edited!
Great ideas! I found myself pausing the vid a LOT, lol. I wished you could have some more time on the map view, it seemed like milliseconds. Goes fast and I know it's a time crunch but just 2 secs more. AWESOME!
Understand, you can always pause the video if you need more time with a certain part of the video. But if you check out my other videos you I do hold the map view longer.
@@MattDontPlay I was pausing it, like crazy but the time certain things are on was short. Like the pause games on IG, LOL! Thanks for all the ideas!
I built an old 50s type farm it's pretty small but it was built up in lot 11 by the river so it turned out really nice after I added some horse pastures by the river
That's great! I like the old iron style farm builds and gameplay. The Squad has a great 70's farm going that I'm really enjoying.
@@MattDontPlay Yeah the one I built was made after my grandpa's old farm that he raised my parents on and we always visited as kids. It's a cool way to play imagining I'm working like he would have back in the day
That's so cool!
Looks awesome. Gave me some ideas to try out as well.
Glad I could help! That's exactly what I going for, helping others find a great location & hoping they make it their own. Please share if you'd like!

Thank you best compliment so far! Glad you enjoyed it all!
A couple things is missing, but otherwise a nice little setup...
A cow dung silo, a slurry pit and space to store bales for feed. Perhaps also a garage for long vehicles.
But you could snag a bit of the field opposite from the cow pen and build some more storage facilities there
Thank you for your comment. I realized that I was missing them after my build 😂 & I explained in another comment why I did and how I would fix it. I just appreciate the fact you all are enjoying the video enough to catch my mistakes. 😂 Yes, I thought if you wanted to expand then you would take the field by the house & cow barn.

Not my typical FS video but I like the concept. You should do more

I like the idea for this location. I’m going to start on the beginner farm and work my way up in career and make that my end game farm for the map. Thanks 🙏
Best of luck! That's a great idea!
Love this build ❤ i addded some of my own mod packs that i installed like thenplace able curbs to define the paths this build was awsome

That looked like a great spot and love the farm build be cool to have the savegame file of that setup
There is a save game link in my about section.
There is a landscaping mod where it's free to paint and level stuff.

I think its great but needs a silage clamp because of the cow shed
Thank you, you are absolutely right, I tried to add a silage pit after this post and it just changed the look and feel of the farm build.
That looks amazing. Watched the video from start to finish. Did you use any mods for this build or was it all standard?
Thanks for watching! I did use a few mods, free landscaping mod is one for sure, a few others as well but I can't remember them all.

How do you make the tools larger and smaller to sculpt the land?
On PC use the "M" & "N" keys to change the cursor size

It's a blessing and a curse! haha
😂 just built a farm there and watched this video to see if I could find something better. I like it. Right next to vehicle spawn
Absolutely! Flat & easily buy all that awesome equipment!
awesome build just wanna say u have just inspired me to go build a farm thanks so much! =)
That is so awesome to hear! Let me know how it goes!
I kept the starting location and just expanded on it, and then bought fields 12-17 for my silage operations
That's awesome! I like to hear that you took my build & made it your own! That's exactly what I was thinking when I made this video!
am i the only person on earth who likes building farms on hills?
Haha I guess someone has to be the one.
I've built a couple farms on hill-ish terrain 😂
amazing job
Thank you! Still one of my favorite builds!
Does this require any mods? Because I needed to download some for my X-box series X
Yes, a couple....but this was built in the 1st week of the game when there were very limited amount of mods available. I am pretty sure all the buildings are base game at least.
Great video. Did you take a loan out to begin with for this? Trying to find my best start in this game
Also whenever I do the leveling and then put a house on it it seems to sink so its in a ditch?
Looks nice but did you forget slurry and manure on cows ?
Sure did, this was in the 1st couple of weeks the game was out. I didn't know that Giants separated the slurry/manure from the barns. If I were to build it again, I'd put them either next to the small shop or replace the small shop.
Very nice I might try this on ps5
So cool! Let me know how it goes! Have fun with it!
i wish there was a way where you could make the land change back to its original form. maybe from selling it or something
I thought the same thing in FS19, when landscaping was so much harder & not as easy to fix. But with FS22 it is much easier to change mistakes with their tools.
Do you have any other fields that you have done like this? Like Eastern North Carolina and Big Flats Texas?
Yes, I have an awesome fam build on Big Flats Texas. I have a link to it below.

Elm creek is probably the best map
I agree!
Nice build.
Thanks! Stay tuned I have a couple more builds in the works.
I decided not to go with the other farm sorry.. I’m not really gonna get mods because I’m a big fan of the base game farm stuff only 2-3 mods kubota dlc truck and kubota equipment back hope you understand..
All good my friend. Enjoy the game your way!
honestly, I like decorating more than playing the actual game :D
Yeah, I understand that...I enjoy Elmcreek alot but for myself I'm hoping for a few more American style maps soon.
I'm complete opposite, I wish I could just work bringing in the money and not touch landscaping!
nice :) great job

Do it on Erlengrat next
Thanks for suggesting! I will be doing a build on Erlengrat soon. I have already scouted out a few good spots.
How do you make the painting tool stay in the field and not go out?

Can you do a video on how you enabled your mouse cursor because mine is litteraly invisible
I for sure will! I will let you know when I post it!
@@MattDontPlay Thank you so much !!!! I will give that a try !!
How do you deal with the indents the building make in the ground
First start off find land that's already level. Second, level if you need to but only where it absolutely needs it. Third, the building with show you if it will raise or lower your land before you place it...if you don't like it then move it until you are happy or pick something else. Fourth, change your brush size & switch between tools until it fits what you are looking for. 5th live with it, make it part of your farm. Klutch says quite often no real life farm is perfect...why get down on yourself when you can't make it perfect. I have a farm build coming out in a few weeks where I do just that!
how did you get the texture to only paint on the field?
EXCELLENT!
Thank you!
After how many litres can i collect milk from the small cow barn?
60,000L
@@MattDontPlay 😂😂
Cool but i think it will need more shed space than that
Thanks, I agree as well. In the second farm build video I took over the adjacent field and could do the same in the future. My plans for that field is grass only anyway.
Nice

how do you get so much money? very nice farm bro
Thanks for the comment! I used a mod to add money for this build.
Nice! I fell like the field to the right of 40, 41, 42, and 43 is best for farm on elmcreek
I have tried a couple of builds on field 40. So yes I agree that's another great location. Thanks for the comment!
I had trouble building a farm never done it before
Yeah, I did too in FS19.
1) 4 - 240 cowbarns
2) 2 Large Pig Styes
3) 3 - Chicken coupes holds I think it was 400 or 500 chickens
Last time I had largest grain silo. 6 tier silo. Yea my farms huge. Large Farming operation. 😀
Thanks! I tried a mega farm on FS 19th right before FS 22 came out & it wasn't for me. But that's what's awesome about this game. There is no certain way to play it, everyone get to make it ther own, from old iron , to 1000 head of live stock and everything in between. Gotta love it,
Hit that like button & be sure to check out my other builds and leave a like & comment on those as well.
@@Venkman29 Awesome, definitely let me know when you do the new farm tour video
I have so much trouble landscaping in this game to the point where I just quit playing it and went back to 19
Completely understand cause I was that way with FS19 and only played map in 19 that were already set up how I liked them. But I do think this version is much better for building than in the past with way more tools. Either way keep playing farming simulator my friend!
How much does this cost? If you have an avarage I would love to build this
Just under $2 million for this build.
@@MattDontPlay ty :)
where can i import this into my game, ive done it in the past i just don't know how to do it again
@@MattDontPlaycan it be downloaded for ps5?
Hi I play on PS5 when placing the house. It digs down in the ground. Any help please
If you are using the in game farm house it will always do that because it has a lower level that it's accounting for, no matter how flat your land is. Search the mod hub for a farm house pack. The house itself is flat and will fix your issue.
@@MattDontPlay thank u so much
@@Sk1tz_mass You're welcome! I had the same problem with my builds and as soon as I found the farm house mod I had no issues.
Ik this has nothing to do with the video but how do i fill the tank on my fuel truck
Hey Noah, I will try and help as best I can. At a fuel station like Garyson's you might have to try a both sides of the truck/trailer to find the right fill location. If you are at a placeable fuel container, then you will have to fill that container 1st then figure out which side the truck or trailer fills from. I hope this helps!
how come you can draw the paths in such straight lines?
Thank you for your comment, some of it is my OCD. This was my 1st build and I thought everything had to be perfect. Hence the name...😂 😂 😂 Keep watching all my videos and I see if I can get away from the straight line.
@@MattDontPlay I think it help you are on PC, I'm a console man and I struggle to do the landscaping carefully
That's true, I have tried landscaping on xbox a little & it's very frustrating after landscaping on PC!
I've never laughed so hard...
Glad you enjoyed the video!
great job loved the video, Im assuming you went into the one that you start with nothing correct
Are you meaning the Farm Manager mode? Yes, that's what I used, I started with only cash, no land or vehicles.
Hi Matt, looks amazing!! I was just wondering how do I open your save game on my fs? I'm new to fs so have no idea, lol!!
@@MattDontPlay thank you very much :)
@@samcousins8003 You are welcome and enjoy the game!
How did you get so much money?
Is there a save game link ?
Yes, in my linktree on my about page
@@MattDontPlay yeah I figured it out and I downloaded and moved it in my mods folder but don’t see it anywhere in my game ?
@@hoodie5004 You have to copy the contents out of the folder and choose a savegame folder from the FS22 main file location. Then paste it into that savegame file. I hope that helps.
My main personal issue is does not look semi truck friendly
Thanks for the comment. I don't disagree with your statement, but I have played several hours on this build and the only time I had issues with semi's around the farm was when I let the helpers loose on the yard. haha
Interesting. I started with that one, and tried to build to the right of the larger field, but the hill made it all weird.
I then purchased #18, cleared a bunch of trees and put the house, a silo, a 3 spot shed, and a cow barn with entry off the road on the left. Eventually sold #25, and bought #'s 15, 16, 17 and 19.
That's awesome, check out my Abandoned Sheep Farm Build where I built in that area (fields 12 -17) lots of work in that area, but its a good location.
Not to shaby mate personaly got a pretty good layout in lot 55
Can you help please how did you increased the brush size?
On PC using the keyboard...the M key increases the brush size and the N Key decreases the brush size. Also the V key changes from square to circle or vise versa
You should make bee hives next to the greenhouse
That's a great idea! Maybe in the next one! wink wink...stay tuned!
nice look and layout but its not designed for if you have real big equipment if you could even fit it at all they would be very tight corners and turn arounds.
Thanks for your comment. I will admit it's a little tight around the farm. My hope was just to build a farm and hopefully inspire others to build their own farm however they want to.
I can’t help but think it’s missing slurry extension and manure heap for the cow barn
You're absolutely right, this was my very first farm build ever & when I made the video I had only played a few days. And didn't know at the time they separated the slurry & manure from the cow barns. If you download & play this map there are a few places left to add those things around the farm yard.
that farm is so good and i think you only used on mod and it was that green shed but overall 10/10 and i found that your graphics are insanly good.
I'm glad you liked my video! Check out my other builds and let me know if you like those too!
For ps4 it’s a circle how do u change it to a Square?
