    And we are back to discuss our theory in which Bran is the ultimate villain of Game of Thrones, the ultimate evil who used his abilities to orchestrate the entire season 8, made Daenerys go mad, allowed Kings Landing and its 1 million people to burn alive, all so he, the Three-Eyed Raven could end up on the Throne.

    I totally agree with you. Bran caused everything! He is the true villain. How else could one explain his two quotes in the end “why do you think I came all this way” and “you were exactly where you were supposed to be”. He played (orchestrated) the game far better than Littlefinger and Varys ever could

    I agree wholeheartedly with your belief that Bran is the villain, manipulating events to make himself the king of the six kingdoms - and Sansa queen of of the north. My only quibble is characterizing the Night King as trying to save humanity from Bran. Rather, I think the Night King was also evil, and wanted to reign over Westeros, but recognized Bran as his greatest foe in achieving this goal. And Bran bested him. The others were merely pawns in their game.

    Season 8 had bad writing, and Dany’s decent into madness was poorly portrayed, but Bran having orchestrated the whole thing makes a lot of sense. He repeatedly told Sansa and others he could never be lord of anything to throw them off, all while knowing he’d become king. He’s wanted power for a long time, he wants Jamie and Cersei to pay for crippling him for life. He knew what Dany was going to do and he let it happen because he wanted the Lannister twins to die.

      I don't believe Bran is the 3 Eyed Raven, I think Bran died in that cave and his body became a vessel for the 3 Eyed Raven, he can act like Bran because he has access to Brans memories, but ultimately I believe the 3 Eyed Raven is in full control and is evil, not Bran. The 3 Eyed Raven lured Bran north of the wall for one thing, to use him and carry on his work, to continue trying to defeat the Night King and finally seize power in the 7 Kingdoms. I come to this conclusion because we know a lot about Bran but very little about the 3 Eyed Raven, I think it would make more sense that the 3 Eyed Raven is actually evil but hid his bad intentions from Bran and his companions in order to secure Bran.

    I rarely bother with GOT videos anymore, but yours are worth watching, and this is also my feeling - that Bran is the ultimate villain. Whatever gave anyone the idea the Three Eyed Raven was on the side of good rather than evil? Why were the White Walkers so bent on destroying him, and the Children Of the Forest ( the ones that created them)? That’s not Bran, anyway, he is possessed by whatever it is that formerly possessed Brynden Rivers.

And Tyrion also made him master of coin!!?? The guy who doesn’t know what the loan is and Tyrion had to explain it to him in season 4. Also, the King doesn’t have influence on the Citadel, so how is Sam the grand Maester when he didn’t even become a maester.. D&D are insulting our Intelligence at this point

  • @mchlfx
    @mchlfx 3 года назад +45

    I don’t know if I agree with this theory, but I did have one huge reservation about Bran being named king: if he goes mad it would literally be impossible to usurp him. Even the likes of Tyrion, Varys, and Littlefinger would be unable to plot against someone who could easily witness their treachery from anywhere in the world. To add to that, the previous Three-Eyed Raven existed for hundreds of years (iirc), so, assuming it’d be the same for Bran, you’d have a king who could see anything, anywhere, at any time, AND can’t die naturally. That’s a recipe for a Dark Lord right there. Bran could become a lot like Sauron. Game of Thrones could be a Lord of the Rings prequel.

    • @HufflepuffDaddy

      Great points, but I always thought the secret to the 3-eyed Raven's very long life was tree-related as in him literally and physically fused to a tree or the roots of a tree and then living as long as a redwood or ginkgo tree. Bran may not have long-life while bound to a wheelchair. His lifespan may be human-like and not tree-like.

      Dark Lord exactly and Bran three eyed raven fits the bill perfectly. Remember he had no empathy for Jojen's sister once he was back at WF, used and abused them. He couldn't care any less about her brother dying for him. I knew he was evil right then.

    How I still wish seeing how the Three Eyed Raven possess minds and enter beings was responsible for Daenerys character to crack and set the city ablaze. The Ice King would have been an enlightened person who foresaw the future and tried to stop this. He was after all a human before he was transformed…
    Jon being deported conveniently after his role all would fit to the otherwise horrible scripting of the last season.
    It would also open up a possibility for a future season of realisation and retaliation where Jon, king of true North returns just like the Ice King to claim his throne from the true monster.
    How I still wish….

      Pondering the evil Bran theory saved the series a bit for me. I kept wondering wtf, then realized one of Bran’s last lines was that perhaps he can find Drogon. I thought about warging, that it was probably him awkwardly staring at Jon and Dany by the waterfall, and then I thought about skin changing, how contorted Dany’s face was right before burning the city, and I actually think Bran was possessing her for the burn of KL, her Hitler speech when Tyrion “quits,” and when Jon kills her in the throne room. As Dany dies, he moves to Drogon, burns the iron throne and steals Dany’s body (probably for some Illuminati sacrifice ritual for her royal blood).
      So I had a few interesting things to ponder about Jon, Dany, and Bran, and why they did what they did those last few episodes, but every other character underneath was just shit on and tossed away for me.
      Who knows, maybe the reason so many characters betrayed their own story line was because Bran began skin changing them too.
      Like Jaime. Honestly Cersei and Jaime are the ones responsible for pushing him out the window, so it would make sense he wanted revenge on them. There’s so many instances of Jaime betraying his own previous character traits in the last season. Maybe I should research it, but honestly the season is too painful to watch.

    As a fan of Dune I firmly became convinced of this from the minute Hold the Door happened. My theory is that D&D rushed the outline with none of the set up and, should the books actually be released, the actual "game" (fight for control of the Iron Throne) will be forgotten in favor of fighting the Night King, which will hijack the plot and it'll seem like the game which drove most of the plot wasn't really important and only got in the way of the true threat. A bit unsatisfying but it makes sense.
    Then Martin would throw this at us in the final pages, showing that everything is Bran's doing and while everyone, including the audience, forgot about the game, they more or less played into Brandon Stark's hands.

What if the Night King isn’t the ultimate evil, but a tool gone awry to attack a type of being with too much power and not enough morals that they will sacrifice the natural world and countless lives to reinforce the power their lineage entitles them to (The first 3er Rivers being a Targaryen, Bran being a Stark). It seems that Bran could manipulate his family-why couldn’t he manipulate the Children as well? Anyway, I’m rambling. Great video!

      Adding to this, I think it was the three eyed raven who did incite the first men to attack the children and the giants, since he had issues with them. Maybe night king knew this and turned against the raven instead.

    You are right, of course, but the books will surely end (or continue) in a very different direction. Having Bran become the most ironic king-villain was likely a way to "wrap it up" most unpredictably for David and Dan who desperately wanted out. It was appropriate for that reason only. Once George R. R. Martin finishes the books (or passes away), some company will completely remake the series close(r) to his marvelous books, and we will all be happy(er).

  • @maspleben
    @maspleben 3 года назад +3

    Bran saved the day from the White Walkers and the Night King though by "planting" the dagger in the Godswood, seeing his past/future self there, giving the dagger to Arya so she can kill the Night King because he can see that the Night King will be killed there with the dagger. He may have exchanged Night King's attack on King's Landing and entire continent potential deaths/apocalypse against Daenerys' torching of King's Landing deaths. Plus he knows he would become King and unify/appease the country by talking to Tyrion way before about his story. Because Bran knows the course of everything, it is safe to assume that he will make things happen a specific way in the books too so that he becomes King, not because he has a choice in the saying, but because he sees it happen.

    • @maspleben

      There is only one timeline, and Bran is not altering it, he is a pawn and a slave to the future that he can see. He has no free will. Every action that he is making has already had/will have its consequences written, was it not been already cleared with Hodor?

    Really late comment, but I have a weird theory for the show that Bran actually warged into Dany from the moment she burned King's Landing to the moment just before Jon stabbed her. Dany was too good and wouldn't burn the city down after apparent victory.
    I believe, after her death, Dany gets ressurected in Volantis... Maybe she could return to Westeros and expose Bran in some strange magical way. idk, but basically, it's all Bran's fault. lol

    There is way more to this. It's not only what he did or not say, but every single event in the story of the series.
    He is the one that made it all. Bran is no less than a God in got, he talks to people in the past to make the present. He made Hodor, he made the mad king, and the mad queen too.
    My point is this is not only season 8. This is every single thing that happens, happens with the premise that Bran wants it to happen. So yeah, maybe he warged and killed the Baratheon king so that his father gets executed and start the chain of carefully directed events that leads to him getting the throne.

  • @frozen1762

    I don't think this was intended but is a good explanation. The real game of thrones was three-eyed raven vs the night king. I would go even further and this being the big conflict from the start of the show and the whole "lord of light" was also just a manipulation. And is it good vs evil or evil vs evil or just power play should be left to the audience to decide. Also funny thing is white walkers army didn't attack the wall and went south until three-eyed raven escaped to south in body of Bran lol Maybe there would be no war if he stayed there. It makes sense with assumptions that in ancient war there was a stalemate and some sort of deal brokered.

The main difference beeing we always not know exactly 'what' is the whole 'tree thing', even less its 'real' goal or even purpose (in the Martin's unfinished 'universe'..) .. even in the books from what i read.... could very well be an evil or revengeful 'entity'... a thing the 'genius' Thyrion once again totally misunderstood in tv s08 (T character 'smartness' destroyed in the tv show..) , possibly making one, If not the one, of all Thyrion's worst 'character appreciation' judgement!... The 'kwisack haderach' beeing just a sum of past memories and trully prescient (Spice abilities), but not necessarily evil in itself...and leto beeing even more powerful.. and destiny even worst.. but yes, interesting observation.... )

    If anyone can "see" all that happened, is happening and will happen, then that means there's a certainty in what will happen. If there's certainty in the way future unfolds and the three-eyed raven "sees" this, then there's no way you can manipulate things into happening or not happening.. you can only do your part in facilitating what will happen... So, Bran is not a villain and he's as powerless as the rest of them, because everything is predetermined according to the concept of the raven. Otherwise, it would be contradictory. 🙏
