Had my 5800x for a couple years now. Don't plan to upgrade. Bought before 5800x3d came out, and I do productivity work as well. Best upgrade would be 5950x, but, I have no need for it really. Probably will keep this desktop another 5 years before building new again.
3dx is much better fo gaming. Except that point they are similar
not really. The base and boost frequencies are much higher with the 5800, which means it runs hotter for significantly lower gaming performance. Who says more heating, says more expensive cooling. The 5700 x3D is a banger for gaming on AM4
@@Killingzebill135800x undeclocks/undervolts really well. I went from 75ish C to 35C while still having the same performance
I want to see this benchmark with the 5800x on high tier ram, how much would that close the gap? My ram runs at 4000mhz cl15
I am actually quite shocked that some of the 1% lows of the 5700x3D is the Avg FPS of the 5800x
Because of the huge cache memory that the 5700X3D has
5700x3D hands down the best AM4 CPU for 2024
@@feliksdzerzhinskij8005800x3d exist
That would be the 5800x3D@@feliksdzerzhinskij800
@@siryeshe Nah for the money it's still 5700x3D and only 5-6 FPS difference with 5800x3D anyway while being much cheaper.
Epic intro 😎👍🏻
There's no point upgrading from the 5800x to the 5700x3d. According to the benchmarks you can get the same performance uplift by doing pbo boost override and curve optimizer. And ram tuning with tighter timings.
no you really cant lol
Then which one is best?
Depends. 5800 is overall beter. 3dx is better in gaming performance. No big difference. Buy whats cheaper in your area.
Isn't the 5700X3D a 65w CPU? Might want to correct your specs table.
PL1 TDP 105W bro
@@hardwaretest2552 I stand corrected. A lot of online shops posted this as 65w. Never bothered to check the AMD site.
@@Valkross9 Damn the one site you should have checked.
it's a fast cpu, but not a strong one
for me its a good deal. if we look at price/performance
i feel like it’s the opposite, it’s a very strong cpu because of the insane amounts of L3 cache, but very slow in terms of clock speeds
@@hardwaretest2552would you recommend i replace my 5800x with this? literally all i do is game and web browse, and the price went down to $192 on amazon
i bought the 5800x like 3 years ago for $350
Worst comparison ever. Gaming cpu vs general purpose. The x3d series are designed for gaming exclusively and give up multicore peak performance for lower latency in gaming. Showing the😮 stats for cinebench etc is meaningless.
It gives an indicator on how it performs in productivity work.
