You might want to invest in a good portable battery charger for your phone. You should never be losing a fantastic deal because your phone ran out of power if you're a professional
Great finds! It can be tough continuing to look at flea markets and other places that never seem to have anything worthwhile, but this goes to show that these opportunities are still out there.
Byrne's She-Hulk is a highlight of his long career: so metatextual, witty writing, lovely art and it just feels like everyone - creators, editorial and readers - were having fun. The Warlord fell away somewhat in quality after Mike Grell left but while it was his title, it was a good read with lovely art. Hamster Vice was a send-up of well-known 1980s tv series "Miami Vice". Definitely an amazing group of comics James, and so good to see someone highlighting a Marvel b/w magazine, one of the most neglected areas of Marvel's output in terms of awareness and interest from those in the hobby. As you say, Conan The Barbarian 1 hardly ever turns up in collections or with dealers, great that you scored a copy.
Absolutely astounded with the purchase. Those are huge grails. Never even seen them in person. That’s a huge find. Dude knew what he had but cut you a deal.
I was curious if you did page counts... I see so many cats not even look inside and lay their money down ...without even opening the books. That Groot book is sharp!
Wow!! That is a amazing score you got on those comics. Great job. I’m not personally into getting Comics graded at this point, but I would probably get those two keys graded just to protect them. Keep up the great work. 😎
Man for a second I thought you got that box full of keys for like dollar bin prices 😂. Still awesome to see. It must hard transitioning from collector to dealer and having to sale all these great books but you get to do what you love and not answer to anybody but the misses.
That is amazing. I have always wanted the first Groot, and never could find it much less afford it. If you can hold out, I think that’s a keeper of a book. There are very few of them that still exist, and the price should only go up. And yes, you definitely should get that sent to CGC.
I'm with you on the 80's indies. I can't help but buy some of those when I see them in great shape. They're always so cheap and I think they'll be a market for them at some point.
Cool Tales To Astonish 13 story. I had a chain of comic books stores in the early 90s that went belly up during the 1993/94 comic glut crash that took out many stores. I had about 30,000 comics left over which I started moving on Ebay around the year 2000. I looked at selling the Tales To Astonish 13 but it was only selling for around $12 in Fair condition. I love that cover so I put that book in my poker room which is one half of my split off garage. I hung it up in a bag/board on a wood stud as drywall was never installed. The book hung through the desert elements for around 15 years. I gets pretty hot in that garage during the summer. I used the cover of the book as my Ebay mascot. It was on all my listings at the top. I had no clue of what Groot meant. I never saw Guardians of the Galaxy, still haven't seen it. I had tuned out of the comic book world until recently. Around 2015 I had asked my daughter to help make my Ebay listings better. She said to get rid of the Guardians of the Galaxy tree guy off my listings. My comic book brain came back to life. I went onto Ebay and was floored that the book was going for hundreds of $$ ! I put my trashed copy onto Ebay starting at 1 cent. It went for $600!!!
Awesome strike! I was just going through some really old boxes in my house and found a copy of an old CBG ad my Dad and I put out around 1980. My Dad had marked thru all the books that sold from the ad, and it was only about 5-10% of our total offerings. The one that killed me was a Strange Tales #110 that he had listed as a "FN-", so about the grade of your copy there, and it sold for a whopping $18.00...
Congrats James.. 2 huge grails. The story is sketchy as hell to me as a temp vendor at a flea market visiting relatives and available for only the day sets off immediate alarm bells that the books are hot. Hope they aren’t! Also, being raw.. I would def get slabbed to ensure there is zero restoration (especially trimming.. as the ST cover and bottom look off in the video. Hope it works out!!
Niiiiiice.....!!!!!! Awesome pick-ups. 👍 Thankfully I got my ST #110 and TTA #13 for about $1000 all told way before the MCU took off. I got the ST signed by Stan Lee and it came back a 2.0 and the TTA came back a 5.0..... 🙃
Heck yeah! Congrats on hitting the jackpot and solid price for the whole lot too. In a previous video you mentioned perhaps getting an arcade in the antique booth. Have you tried looking into a cabinet made by Arcade1up? They have x-men and simpsons like you mentioned. They're easy to move and a very affordable price since they're 3/4 the actual size of the original cabinets. I have the Marvel vs Capcom cabinet and i love it! I hope this helps!
Amazing, but I gotta play devil's advocate here. I've been a collector since 1976 of just about everything and one thing that's consistent is rares/keys/ALWAYS GO UP! Coins, comics, cards, etc. The key stuff never crashes ever. I'd suggest KEEPING the keys and selling the lower end stuff. Get those majors graded too. A 5.0 ST 110 will probably be a 10k book in 5 years.
Awesome dude! Pick up a little portable charger for your phone so you aren’t sweating next time. I bought a Jackery brand one with attached cables for iOS and Android for maybe $30. Well worth it for traveling or on convention floors.
The last tales to astonish 13 in 3.5 sold for $2800. A 4.0 sold for similar with brittle pages so let’s say it’s a $3000 book. Plus around $600 for the others. That would put you only $900 or so into the strange tales which is killer
Preserve them! Slab them! You already know you are going to make money on them you might as well spend another approx 100 to clean/press/encapsulate to make those books last "forever" in the state they currently are. No doubt that will make their value grow by at least another $100.
Oh yeah, at $4500 for everything you are going to do VERY well with those books in the approximate grades. Kudos buddy! As far as the fact you spent soo much on the books themselves, it actually makes it difficult to potentially send to CGC have you not thought about using an online auction house? As long as you sell the book through them, they'll cover your grading fees, and keep in mind you'll get 15% off through their dealer account.
that's what i tell every woman i get with "just coz you scored early in the morning doesn't mean you aren't going to score even bigger an hour or so later"🤣
If he wanted 10k for the whole lot, and he let you take those 2 big books for what you paid, he was way over for the other books. You got the 2 best books for more than half the total. Strange.
Hi, I 'd like to talk to you regarding the Strange Tales 110. I know you are a GL fan. I have a nice GL #1 , the silver age one. I have a Strange Tales 110 also but from what I could see yours might be nicer. If you could point me in the direction to contact you directly. I would appreciate it.
Hey, I don't want to rain on your parade, but maybe that buy was too good to be true? Are you satisfied/sure that they're not stolen books? I know you're above board, but not everyone else is.
Nice finds... But... It feels a little weird that a guy from out of state is staying here, and doing a small flea market, on a mid-week... with a $4,000 comic book - and he knows what they worth... and he's not ebaying it. It just "feels" weird that someone who knows the worth is trying to sell $4000 at a small flea market... and comics of that quality are in the raw, not slabbed. But super nice finds, that's for sure! Congrats.

Congratulations James, really pleased for you! Must be a great boost now you’re doing this full time. Keep up the good work!
Yes! Thank you!
Great finds! It can be tough continuing to look at flea markets and other places that never seem to have anything worthwhile, but this goes to show that these opportunities are still out there.
Once in a blue moon they do!
Fantastic Finds!! Great good luck!!
Great finds great books what else can I say good Hunting
Awesome finds you never know
you really never know!
Great finds! Makes me eager to start hitting the flea markets when it gets warmer.
Great James! That TTA is a fantastic book...presents well...love the gradated over! Congrats.
Now that’s a score! Nicely done. The Groot is my fav, tough book to find in decent shape.
Love the Groot!!! That's an insanely rare one to find. One shot that wouldn't return for another decade.
Dang James, what finds! Congrats man!!!

I LOVE sensational She-Hulk
I can't wait for the video of all these books graded. Awesome finds.
Wishing you all the luck in the world stay focused and keep em coming
Loved "Hamster Vice" back in the day - Same with "Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters". Nice pickups!!
And "Pre-Teen Dirty Gene Kung-Fu Kangaroos"
Incredible that you found those at a flea market! All I ever find at flea markets are 90s Valiant books and every issue of Brigade ten times over haha
Come on man ..now way !! so jelly..congrats !!
Epic books! It really is about being at the right place at the right time.
Every Sensational She Hulk #1 I have seen is Newsstand.
Hamster Vice? I may have to hold on to those now.
Congrats James, those keys are just astonishing!!👍✔️👏
Respect on the focus on the big picture man and living out your dream.
Thank you!

Always trust those instincts, brother. Great grabs!

I can't help it! and they're FANTASTIC
Just grabbed savage she hulk 2 today at my LCS. And I found sensational 1 -- 17. I'm super excited. Love your channel, great finds today.

I need that for my TTA run! Stellar find, dude!
I agree!

Crazyyy finds! That’s what the hunt brings you, keep it up james
Thanks! Will do!
Job well done! I'm very jealous 😀
I’m somehow jealous of MYSELF!

YEP THANK GOD FOR GUT FEELING WELL DONE JAMES
Great find!
Great find.
Great video, fantastic books. Good hunting.
I can say I do not dream of find that Groot book in the wild. But good on you for finding it if it’s something you do.
James if I were you I would submit them to get graded ! the value would be so much more if you just wait a bit longer.
outstanding find!
Dude! Nice score!
Sounds like you need to keep a charger in your car and charge that bad boy while you’re driving around haha
I really do
Gilgamesh. Great mini back in the day
Heck yeah! Congrats on hitting the jackpot and solid price for the whole lot too.

Right place, right time.
Huge huge find. Good job.
thanks!
Wow, awesome pick ups. Really enjoyed the video thank you
Glad you enjoyed!!
Nice finds! Just a FYI the artist on Crimson Avenger is in prison for murder. I’m not sure if that makes the book worth more.
Man you've got some good luck🎉
Eh - I def paid nearly full price for em though!
Awesome dude! Pick up a little portable charger for your phone so you aren’t sweating next time. I bought a Jackery brand one with attached cables for iOS and Android for maybe $30. Well worth it for traveling or on convention floors.
Dude the last like 4 videos out hunting I've been out of battery - it's always so nerve racking!
The last tales to astonish 13 in 3.5 sold for $2800. A 4.0 sold for similar with brittle pages so let’s say it’s a $3000 book. Plus around $600 for the others. That would put you only $900 or so into the strange tales which is killer
The most recent 4.5 ST 110 went for $4300 that I could see so even if that ones destined for profit I think you will be just fine
Preserve them! Slab them! You already know you are going to make money on them you might as well spend another approx 100 to clean/press/encapsulate to make those books last "forever" in the state they currently are. No doubt that will make their value grow by at least another $100.
that guy must have been happy to get that much money.
Oh I’m sure he had to have been
Go big bro!
Just getting into comics man and wow this is super interesting!
Which flea market do you go to? I'm relatively local and have been to Phantasm Comics a couple times
Good lick man!
Your flea market sales are crazy! I know most of the time you find nothing special, but wow.
Absolute steal. 🔥🔥
Oh yeah, at $4500 for everything you are going to do VERY well with those books in the approximate grades. Kudos buddy!

Love the TTA 13
SAME
Someone send this man a charging cable, car adapter and power bank. Sounds like really likes letting his phone get low at the most critical times.
Wow
Indeed
Good pickup....I regret selling my run of Strange Tales 110-168 in past as had a clean set..but its reprinted :-)..
Oh no!
The luck isn’t finding great books the luck is finding a reasonable seller lol.
Seriously haha
Strange tales #110! Wow! First paste pot pete!
AND the first appearance of the Mirror Prison!
PASTE POT PETE!!! the future of the MCU
😆 lol
First Paste Pot Pete is Strange Tales 104
awesome books
The best thing is you scored 2 grails whose value will continue to rise and both on the mcu
that's what i tell every woman i get with "just coz you scored early in the morning doesn't mean you aren't going to score even bigger an hour or so later"🤣
you got some great pick ups
7:00 the awesomeness begins!
Gotta spend to make!
I think I bought that 3 pack with Excalibur annual and wolverine #50 back in 93.
Now that’s pretty cool!
Conan the Barbarian, in his first appearance, still looks like Nicolas Cage.
Same with Electro's second appearance lol
@@MintHunterComics I forgot about Electro's face. 🤣🤣🤣
So where can I find this luck cause I've been searching for it since I began collecting 😂
It comes in waves - I know dudes (Three Sixty Comics) that are 8 times luckier than I am haha
Did you get the Thor Issue?? Asking for ME!! I've been getting my collection run & looking for some here & there.
Afraid not - price was off
@@MintHunterComics Darn, I'm sorry. I know I don't live anywhere close to you, but I NEVER come across those things in the Wild!!
Did you check out that X-Men 11?
Do not sell the Dr. Strange or Groot raw..... you will get way more for those 2 CGC graded......I hate to admit that but it's true
If he wanted 10k for the whole lot, and he let you take those 2 big books for what you paid, he was way over for the other books. You got the 2 best books for more than half the total. Strange.
I think he def overpaid for em - his price for the Hulk 180 was VERY off
@@MintHunterComics Maybe he is one of those guys that wants to claim 180 is the true first appearance?
It sounds like you need to get an extra battery for your phone!
why was it a problem that he new what he had?
hmmm
It is easier to buy than sell.
TOO easy
Hey Chris! did you get my message about your invoice? I sent you an email how you can pay for the books claimed
@@MintHunterComics I do not see it. Where would I receive that message?
Let me know if you’d be into a trade for more $$$, and graded!
Dude, ever heard of a car charger? 🤔

Hey, I don't want to rain on your parade, but maybe that buy was too good to be true? Are you satisfied/sure that they're not stolen books? I know you're above board, but not everyone else is.
Absolutely satisfied - more than I usually spend for sure but they're legit and I believed his story on where he got em
@@MintHunterComics Okay, I'm glad for that. Congrats!
Congrats.
I mean you’re not wrong!
maybe he doesn't want to deal with selling it online, having ebay take fees from him and paying taxes on top of it?
Nice! Now if you would had said I paid a dollar each. Unsub 😂
Hahahaha
Just go get a job, bro . Go work for the city
Yet another banger of a video
thanks!
Who does your cleaning and pressing?
What flea market im in new jersey, please let me know, i really wanna check these flea markets out, and I'm not really too far from Pennington.
This was Golden Nugget - BUT he mentioned he was from Florida and just setting up for the day!
