I have watched most of season 4 with my six year old. I didn't say anything to her about David & Patrick; I waited to see what she'd say, if anything. She said "Mama, they love each other, huh? When are they going to get married?" Kids get it. Bigotry is learned. Love is taught. Bravo to Schitt's Creek.

@@hollidayevery Thank you very much. I was taught to love everyone, (and considering I'm pansexual I took those lessons to the enth degree, lol) it's my job as a parent to raise my daughters to be good humans and stand up to any douchecanoes they come across.

The only caveat would be if you don’t want to expose your child to gross capitalism before you can explain how it’s not as bad as it looks.

This is by far the best show on tv. I have watched every season start to finish 10 times now which is kinda pathetic but it helps me to forget my health issues for a bit. I am counting down the days for the Holiday episode and new season. If you haven’t watched...you are missing out.

WHY did this show and it's actors not get a single Emmy nomination? I don't laugh easily, and this show makes me laugh out loud.

This show is addictive! I literally watch, not only seasons but, episodes on repeat! When Moira walks into a scene, I even replay that a couple of times before watching the full scene. This show is so well written, well acted and well directed that it truly feels like watching a slice of life.

This show helped me with my anxiety
I started watching because I love the chemistry between Eugene and Catherine, I figured the show would be cute but didn't have high expectations because I mistakenly assumed Dan was just riding on his dad's coat tails. I was wrong, really freaking wrong! Dan is every bit as talented as Eugene and the entire cast is phenomenal. I was hooked from the start.
I love that you show David and Patricks relationship the same way you would show a straight one. Dan's reasoning makes perfect sense, and the show is so well executed that by not showing homophobic stereotypes we are able to focus on the characters. Its such a simple concept but it makes a huge shift that I hope more shows follow your lead.

I started watching for the same reason! I saw those two names attached to a series and dove right in, they are hilarious together in everything they've done. I was absolutely delighted to discover how freaking good the rest of the cast and the story lines have been.
I have to say that I almost gave up near the beginning of the show because it all seemed rather broad and incurious. And then I quickly realized how perfectly cast the show is and that the series would be a slow-burn in the best possible way.
Michael Jenkins I actually did give up. Then a few months went by and I tried again and stuck with it. I’m so glad I did it’s a wonderful, beautiful series.
I agree, i was stunned how good it was. I too thought it would be just funny, it was so much more. The David & Patrick relationship is beyond amazing
@@oopurpledove & Michael Jenkins. I did give up. The characters were so superficial, and I could not get past Roland. But then I watched a series of RUclips clips of just Patrick and David, and decided to watch it from the middle of the third season, and quite enjoyed it-It was obvious they had grown as characters in the first 2.5 seasons, and after finishing the 6th went back to the first 2 1/2. It’s a little crazy, I know, but now I love the whole show (still not so crazy about Roland but he fits within the larger ecosystem of the show, I guess)
It is a fantasy to be with your grown children for many people. Me included. I miss my daughter at college. Catherine O'Hara is my hero.

I didn't watch this show for a long time, but my children said that it was a good show and I should watch it. I have to say, that it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I loved watching the evolution of all the characters and their relationships. I do agree that it is most parents dream that they can spend more time with their children. They grow way too fast. I am one of the lucky ones. Thank you to the cast of Shitt's Creek for an amazing show. I loved watching!!!

Now whenever I see Noah, I hear Ronnie saying, "he looks like a thumb." He's cute as can be, but that does run through my head.
I would watch a whole show of just Stevie reacting to David and his family. Like, she can not even believe these people are real. Like unicorns coming to a monotone existence.
Catherine O'Hara, in all of her podcast and video interviews, really does seem like the best and most caring mother. I would love to be her child. She always talks about how much she wishes sh could spend more time with her grown children and I've never heard that sentiment so strongly shown and so often repeated like she does, from any other adults that I know who have grown kids.

He used to be a tv host with MTV Canada, so he conducted lots of live interviews, and I think his comfort really shows now that he's on the other side of the mic!
@Sarah Powell Probably one of the reasons they decided to do their 'Up Close and Personal' Tour thing. Most of the time the people interviewing them are just Terrible, and that seems a good way to do their Own kind of longform thing like the BUILD series-type of panel interviews, only having Dan, someone who not only knows Everything about the show but is also actually an excellent and Competent interviewer, be the one in charge of the conversation :)

Noah is right. The show started to pick up, to get real good when he showed up. I know it is for me. 😁 He brought something special to the show. I became obsessed with it because of him. hahaha ♥️

I cried watching Patrick's coming out. I was so jealous (still am), knowing I'll never have that.
You will have it with wonderful people who have a loving world view and who love you. Don't worry about the others even if they are family. Love them, but love and respect yourself too. You are clearly a good human being.

I watched on Netflix when it first came on bored out of my mind and it was Eugene and Catherine (How I loyally watched on SCTV) and after 2 episodes I was wondering where did all these other AMAZING actors from! FREAKING FAB! Told everyone I knew that they will fall in love! I am and fear maybe looking for this kind of Genius art and love ❤️ for a long time! Can’t wait to see what everybody goes on to next! Just floored by this show! THE LOVE SHINES THROUGH!

Hi there Canada/just a note that there is a mad following of the Creek in Australia/there is a hum of anxiety here as to when we can get back into our comfy place on the lounge with a nice bottle of something, a box of tissues, a large plate of munchies and the DATE of Series 5/ is Chrissy Special and Series 5 available to our Island home on Netflix/ this series to date has been a huge sigh of psychological relief for the embrace of difference across human relations/I've always felt that I walk a different path to others, my son likes my good weirdness and I like it in others/we all are same but different!
This screening/panel was done in LA I'm sure.
The characters are basically slightly magnified versions of the actors personalities, it seems. Cant wait for season 6

This was fantastic! The name of the show is what first drew me to watch it. Once I saw the first episode I was totally hooked. I have been binge watching seasons 1-4 on Netflix, waiting for season 5 to come on . I have seen 5 but need to rewatch it multiple times before season 6 starts. The characters, writing, acting...everything about this show is fantastic.

I am so amazed of how much love Johnny and Moira have for each other. For rich or poor, their love shines through. I love all the characters on this show. Wish there was more.

I am not looking forward to the new season, because it all goes by so fast, and then I'm too sad it's over. I wish they made longer episodes. I can easily watch an entire season in a single sitting. That's how great the show is. It's so awful when a season comes to an end.

I'd like to tell him "It's OK, just have funs, you are doing a good job" or maybe just "Ew, Chill Jackson!" Is that weird?
they all seem t get along so well would cry if it was fake also hearing Noah talk about Patrick how he doesn't 'believe' what David talks about his past makes so much sense some of Patrick's reactions to past David

There's a delay of months.
The next season will be in Netflix probably within a few months of it ending. A lot of shows put up the previous season right before a new season airs on TV.

Can someone tell me if the 'special holiday episode" is the one filmed at the beginning of this year? eg Season 4 episode 13? Seen all of season four but not the last christmas episode (13). Or is this a new 'special holiday episode'? Just interested because I don't want to miss any.
The Holiday special isnot yet on Netflix. I'm unsure how they're going to handle that...

When I watched it it was listed as season 4 episode 13. It takes place on Christmas Eve and starts off with John deciding he really wants a Christmas party.

This show is unique in our modern day. We are so lucky to get this ensemble. I love this show. The interview questions however- eesh- I know it’s not PBS but sone deeper thought about the characters and process - as opposed to “what inspired you to do a holiday show around the holidays?” The guests were polite but it’s painful to watch.
Okay. It gets better. I prejudged. But after a serious moment (maybe after the air quotes answer) I would have like the father/son switch glasses and have a vice versa moment.

I have no doubt the fella hosting this panel is an absolute sweetheart, but never, ever put him on camera again. He looks SO nervous, towards the end he's literally shaking. Bless his heart, he was awful.

i honestly don't think he did that bad for how nervous he looked except for that one question, where like you stated he was literally shaking, when he asked if he should "prepare emotionally." he made that so awkward cuz they took a beat to think about an answer and you could tell he was so anxious he just tried to fill the silence. oh well, you live you learn.
