I had watched a lot of iPad reviews, but this is the only one showing off of the lag really close up !! I appreciate it 'cause the the only hinderance to me from getting one is about how much it lags :) and it seems not an issue to me.
I’ve used Apple pencil 2 for over a year, I must say it’s worth every penny. Best piece of tech, tool, investment, call it what you like, this thing still impresses me.
In Procreate, the double-tap feature had to be turned off because it would change tools just with normal handling of the pencil. I would work with a brush style, change position a bit to come in from another angle, then discover the pencil had switched to eraser mode. This happened a lot so I finally turned off double-tap.
That’s why I switched to Adonit Note+. Plus I hated the tapping on glass sound. The Note+ is perfect and has buttons for tactile feeling. It’s light and works like a charm and has good tracktion on the glass screen.

One could argue that he would say something like " if you're going to sell me a style, it better be for something more than compensating for a weak interface. (I comment all written with scribble. Apple doesn't even advertise the Apple Pencil as a stylus. Although it can be used like one, it's ultimate purpose is drawing and dragging etc. I hate when people call it a stylus, and show the Steve Jobs clip.
Thanks for the video. I was debating whether this would be useful. You have confirmed for me that for my uses, I don't see the value. I'm not an artist and I can type notes faster than writing with the pencil, so no real benefit to get. Thanks!
@@Eggs234 I would definitely say the apple pencil. Yes, the alternative is cheaper but it doesn't have a lot of the features that the apple pencil has (like pressure sensitivity ect.) For notes I would say there's no harm in going with the cheaper option.

I'm currently looking into the pros and cons of getting an iPad and apple pencil or a screen tablet for my desktop. The iPad is so portable and has everything you need there. A drawing tablet gives me the ability to use desktop software but they now have Adobe fresco for the iPad and procreate looks pretty impressive. I just need to weigh up costs. Any advice is welcome 😊
What did you end up buying? I almost bought the Wacom tablet and ended up not buying it since I wanted to draw/doodle/create diagrams WITHOUT having to be near a monitor and use it when I actually have my creative juices flowing, which is usually when I'm travelling. So, bought an iPad pro with the 2nd gen pencil.
You can just take a picture of the drawing or anything and use the layers on procreate and trace the picture. Just saying better than putting take on your iPad
Coming from a galaxy note, Apple pencil is so primitive as far as the features go. I just bought the iPad air4 for work purpose but it was an utter disappointment compared to Galaxy Tab or note product in note taking and for the stylus. S pen functions and features for note and tablets are part of the whole system such screen shot, extract, copy, paste, translate, and so on from any app. Just after using iPad Air 4, I realized how much I have been taking S pen for granted. However, i will do my best to give my new iPad a fair shot for the next few months.... I hope it is not a complete waste of my money...
I bought it from Apple and paid the same price or maybe even less because I don’t have the added cost of needing a membership to order it. I never buy from Amazon because it’s too expensive and I need a “membership” to “save money” witch is redundant. Always buy from the source so you can ensure it’s covered by warranty.

I just wish you could swipe up with the Apple Pencil to close out apps and what not. I know they did it to stop the accidental closing on an app while drawing but it would be simple for them to put a toggle setting for it.
Yeah, I agree. I use the pencil as a navigation tool and it does indeed suck, that Apple took that feature away from us. But otherwise quite happy with the setup.
The “weird gloves” aren’t really to prevent the touch screen for moving about. I don’t know how well they are for that. They’re primarily for allowing your hand to glide across the screen easily. So yes they are still pretty much mandatory. They also keep your gross human oils from messing up your screen

The second generation pencil is so much better than the first. The best update of the pencil is the ability to charge it from you iPad battery and being able to stick it to the iPad magnet at the side, this makes it less likely to lose and more likely to use. It really is brilliant thing to have with the iPad but I have to say the price is ridiculous, £130 for a pencil seems really overpriced but if you can afford it you won’t regret it. It’s lighter as well. I’m well happy with mine.
The only thing that i see that makes the apple pencil better than the imitations is pressure sensitivity and this is the one thing missing from this video. I'm not really surprised because there aren't really any artists using digital technology. Pressure sensitivity is important to me and i need to see examples of how it works before spending all my money.
I just got this new iPad to and the glove to me is totally necessary for drawing, because I first tried using it without and my palm would keep making marks.
Settings - Apple Pencil - toggle on Draw only with Apple Pencil - and the ipad will ignore your attempts to draw with the back of your hand, or any other with your fingers/hands.
The stylus to use the phone (interact with menus ecc) is different from the stylus that you use to graphic design ecc. The first was used a lot before the first iPhone . Guess why.

As an adult, the last time I used a “pencil” that size was in elementary school. It a nice addition to an iPad for art tho’. Note taking is good too. It writes quite smoothly.

I have an Apple Pencil and never used it after the first week,it’s at the bottom of my backpack , it depends on what you use your iPad for, just media consumption you don’t need that, not everyone is an artist or student, the on screen keyboard is way better to take notes, also it scratches the screen, not as much as the note 9, but it does, it’s not necessary for most, also is super fragile, the pressure sensitivity is trash for me now, just because of being in a backpack, I would have returned if I remembered I had it
I own an iPad Air 4 and if you go sixth form collage or university the pencil is amazing and so work the money in classes for notes work and revision paired with the Smart Keyboard I’d 100% recommend over a MacBook which is still great but an up to date iPad with a keyboard and pencil is like 3 different devices built into one

You can get one of the first generation iPad pros and the first gen apple pencil. They're about the same; the second gen apple pencil has different abilities that's all. The second gen apple pencil is made specifically for the newer models. Hope this helped you to not go broke lmao
So basically it is good for artists and an occasional document that needs to be signed. I have used this with the best app in the App Store for note taking “ notability “ and it still isn’t worth it for me because it is slower to take notes with and notability does not play well with keeping text and drawings in sync when you want to move something around on the pages.
Hey just to let you know that instead of putting the paper over the iPad to trace it . You can snap a photo of it then transfer it to an app called procreate. Then make it translucent to were its almost invisible then trace it I do it with all kinds of stuff.
If you don’t draw a lot of the time and you just need to take notes and doodle a little here and there save the money and wait for the Logitech Crayon to go on sale and get one. Way cheaper, no need for Bluetooth connection and the quality is just as good...I actually think the Crayon is more comfortable to handle as well.
Samsung note phones and note tablets still beats apple pencil for productivity. By the way, I'm shocked that at the end he did not plug in a sponsor for paper cover, that would have been a good set up.

The drawing gloves aren’t for palm rejection. They’re to keep off hand oils and prevent your hand from sticking to the screen while you draw

You don't necessarily have to trace over the paper. You can incorporate documents into Apple Notes by "scanning" them by photographing them.

Hi, i have glass protector on ipad pro and using 2nd gin pencil, the pencil slips alot at sharp edges or turn, any suggestiins to cope it?
Idk. Why but my pencil was $119 at the Apple store later to find out it was $129 but. I love it.

They're mainly to provide a smoother experience when writing and drawing, resting your hand on paper bares next to no resistance but resting your hand on glass is like high quality rubber trying to drag on pavement without rolling, thered too much friction so its harder to move
The palm rejection alone makes it worth it.

There is no student discounts here in UK. As far as I'm aware all u get is airpods. Thats it. And that too with a bloody ipad or imac for uni.
