Yes... a brilliant promo for just a game. And the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies were based on just a Disney theme park ride.
No reason why this new game "Sea of Dawn" couldn't inspire a movie all its own... starring Johnny Depp.
I hope the Chinese gaming company Changyou who has "Sea of Dawn" is thinking of all those possibilities.
I loved this promo & would definitely watch a full length movie in a heartbeat. I am so impressed as to buy the "Sea of Dawn" online game... and I don't even play video games.

@@kclovesgaming actually both monkey island and pirate were based on a disney ride i think named "treasure cove", but i heard that one of the writer created a scrip for monkey island movie that was later adapted to be pirate hence why there is so many similarity.
The game came out long after the ride at Disney 😂
This would be a fantastic short film in its own right, but as promotion for a game? Wow. There is no half-arsed performance when it comes to Johnny!

Wow! What an amazing short film. And what a great performance from Johnny Depp. Whatever he does, you always remember his performances. Which is why I don't understand those who diss him; though I wouldn't be surprised to see them before a masterpiece or a genius that wows the world and they would still diss it as they just do that in their lives; diss what surpasses them.
Johnny's projects are always great. If he could be part of the Sea of Dawn video game series as a major character that would be great. And if he did also voice acting in video games; that would be even more awesome. People would purchase the games and see him thrive in other platforms than Hollywood which is becoming more and more sterile in its dreams.
I cannot wait to see Johnny again as King Louis XV. And I cannot wait to see Sea of Dawn being offered in North America and Europe.

I watched this once to see Johnny Depp; a second time to read the subtitles then a third just for the pure MAGIC! And finally again to wonder about the "Sea of Dawn" game.
At some point, I thought about the character of Senor Rodriguez only to note the parchment he unrolled as he sat on the pavement at the end showed him to be a DEBT COLLECTOR!?!?

Now, I am laughing! And I appreciate such attention to detail in a game promo. And am in awe of Johnny Depp's ability to create & bring to life amazing characters.
I hope the game company will consider a full length movie based on this. In a world dominated by War, strife, disease & Climate Change, there is no better "drug" for distraction than to escape into the fantasy of a fun adventure movie with Johnny Depp.
