- We are delighted to bring collectors more limited edition pieces by acclaimed actor and artist Johnny Depp. The first pieces from his Friends & Heroes collection, released in July 2022, sold out in hours and there was so much interest in Johnny’s art debut that interest from collectors around the world crashed our website!
The iconic figures in this new collection are actors Heath Ledger and River Phoenix, musician Bob Marley and writer Hunter S Thompson, all of whom were either friends of Johnny, or an inspiration to him, thus adding a real emotional weight to the pieces. Working from photographic references, each image was stripped back to a simpler and iconic portrayal of the subject, which Johnny then developed and energised with his characteristic freehand flourishes.

Why to mention tht fake 🐍 still?
Met him in May, 2019. We spoke a lot about his wonderful support of the cancer community. He was incredibly warm, kind, compassionate and even loving. A very genuine and beautiful man-inside and out. My time with him was one of THE most profound experiences of my life. I so wish Johnny could live forever. ❤️

Fascinating to watch him work with silk screening and then freehand paint and using markers to produce those incredible portraits - all the while talking about his love and admiration for his heroes...was a real treat. Singer...actor...artist. He's an inspiration to everyone.

I honestly think it's impossible not to love Johnny Depp. I mean, what's your problem? He honors with loyalty, true friendship, affection, generosity and empathy the heroes of my generation, and also of previous ones. River Phoenix was my first mourning for a celebrity, no one in my family had died yet and now I'm the only one left, but I don't forget that sweet creature that made me dream and believe in my animal rights and vegan ideals, when i was just a little girl with a huge crush on him (but his thoughts were mine too).

I also thought and think that Bob Marley, Heath Ledger, and River Phoenix were incredibly talented and yes, tormented at times, beings. I get why Johnny identifies with them and cherishes them. I don't know much of his writer friend, but I also write, and paint...I do get the other 3 so probably would get him too. I love that his artwork is such an unusual combination of mediums. Johnny has more than just beautiful talent in several areas, but what I most adore is the person he is. The guy at the back of the room, watching everyone else....then stands up and stuns us with something beautiful and deep and true. Truth be told, there are things he's been through that I have as well, so knowing there are others like me who actually care about others and are givers, is a soothing balm for this weathered soul. The oddball who is told feels 'too deeply' gets the oddball who just wants to understand and care and share beauty with others and enrich their lives. I hope Johnny gets some really great and blissful next years. He needs and deserves that. He's lost another close and cherished friend recently, and deserves some joy again.

I thank him for being a role model for my generation, I was born in 1975, and he has always shown me , as a youth, how a beautiful person can remain so grounded and be genuinely real growing up Hollywood! Because one person does not appreciate another's work does not make the person spoke about bad or inadequate . I actually believe JD and Heath shared a lot of beautiful qualities and views of life the same manner. Both like quirky characters and traits in the people the portray, both have multiple talents outside acting that few knew/know of, both are loving souls that would give to others to assist them without the need for accolades after the fact. I don’t believe this statement was made in a narcissistic manor but because Heath was younger possibly in a respectful, hopeful manner that they could have assisted and worked with each other in the future had Heaths life not been so short. Both are incredible souls if you ever care to do some research. Hope you do and can be pleasantly amazed at what some talented individuals are capable of outside their normal ‘bubble’. Take care
