the 2nd round is honestly the best round for me, the fact that everec's 1st ban is elysium but then proceed to bring elysium instantly is just peak 0 sanity doctor moment right there lmao
This is actually a viable option for Hypergryph for tournament setting; not only is it a tournament, it's also a showcase of the smartest strategies and an Operator showcase, meta or not, all in one bundle. Ngl watching a tournament as close as this just blew my mind This really makes me want to get into niches like tortoise and discover an entire new way of playing arknights ggs to everyone that competed yall are awesome! Please keep hosting events like this vifer this is so good
That Silverash ban was so key twice! That is something that I said for a long time, all the meta players see S3, but what makes Silverash so key is his invis detection and reduced redeploy and Everec not having another plan to deal with the invis drones really hurt the time. Quite interesting idea that whole tournament, but using CC18 as the measuring stick is kind of weird, it would be nice to have another (maybe more permanent/rotating) option for something like this.
They did have an S2M3 Elysium, but the issue was they kept choosing redeploy times. But considering 5 stars are the largest source of invis detection (elysium, tsukinogi, scene), I think this CC was already going to be very hard for a 6 star niche since Horn doesn't have the tile set to be effective against the drones unless Everec decides to not phase skip and stall manfred when he is at far left of his path, thus horn can fire flares and detect the invisible drones should that ever be an option outside of elysium.
@@bullshot101 Well yeah, but for all other options (in the air) you need two units to deal with it as they reveal but don't deal damage, plus you are bound to the skill uptime, Silverash is just doing everything by just existing.

While I can't do it like they do with archetto and the like, someone like ling could be useful for not only increasing the bomb call occurrence if the deploy timer modifier isn't chosen, it's a pool of 6 "low cost to stat" units for stall and bait.
I was on the edge of my seat when that last match happen, what an amazing comeback from Tortoise-chan. Vifer you should DEFINITELY do this again for next CC! And yes, Xai should co-host again.

GGs to Tortoise and everyone else that competed, and thank you Vifer, Xairathan, and all involved for making this happen, it was a ton of fun! The level 3 Manfred risk in the first round was a complete misclick and autopiloting Elysium in round 2 was not my brightest moment. Hindsight is 20/20 though, and Tortoise proved very difficult to ban operatirs against due to the versatility of 5*s and their phenomenal mastery of the cannon.
Congratulations on second place! I was rooting for you the entire time. You had a big lead in the last two rounds only to have those damn drones rob you of the win by a few seconds. Nevertheless, those were some great clears under pressure!
Felt so good to see a creative player win. Just goes to prove how much unexplored potential there is in this game, especially with the 5* that some people say that are worthless. Totally deserved Tortoise, and you have my respect.
Damn so many 5 stars, even provence s1, i should probably start looking into some of these skills, they looked fun to use. Thank you Vifer for making this CC feel even more exciting, tbh thought the idea would lead to boring full meta clears, but damn thank god i was wrong. Edit: 26:05 that realization of the messed up

Tortoise proved that it doesn't matter the level of your units and use of meta, it depends on the brain you have. Like that one guy said, that whole max 6 stars is insane. I hold something like this will happen again, that was a fun match!
Would be pretty cool to have the operator bans stack up with each round. 6 initial bans in the first round, new 6 bans + the previous 6 on the second round, 18 on round 3 and so on. Would the challenge really intense in the later rounds.
I like the idea of Arknights being an e-sport of sort, despite being PvE. I just feel like the variety of operators allow for a wide range of strategies. It's only a matter of whether HG will see the potential for AK to have some sort of competitive form. Kudos to Vifer, Xairathan and everyone participating in the Challenger Cup.
Was very fun to watch. I think the systems needs an improvement to make both sides change strategies, and not just the same with a small operator variation, even when i was Amazed by tortoise strategy, was a little boring to see it 5 times in a row. I do recommend adding a permanent ban on top of the round ban, the loser of a round gets the right to ban one unit permanently for all future rounds, that gives the loser chance to comeback and as things get to round 5 there is 5 bans for both sides, that could really make them have to develop a completely new strategy for that final round.
Perma ban definitely, tho I would say each Dokutah gets one perma ban and 2 round bans at the start. But, they would have to play on sponsored/hacked accounts so that the RNJesus doesn't become the mvp.
Tortoise strat is really well build. They really know how to use those canons. Everec also did really good, the SA ban really hits them. If it were me, I would be panicking just to change ny strat because hes not there
Lol truly the tortoise and the hare story. Rushing down Manfred wasn’t worth it and slow but steady really came in clutch. Still both of them played well!
I still don't understand why no one bans Nearl+Kal+Weedy S3 every round, true damage is so centralizing in CC10 anyone who got it will have a big advantage
To answer this question. I think challengers like me have been practicing some other ops than those 3 for that tourney knowing that those ops will get banned by the opponents or by us. Also most of the time we rather do stick to our own squad or strategy to finish the match before the opponent do which is main goal of that tourney. To add up some people that has made to the final 8 still don't have them built (like me with Wendy S3 no Mastery). Since Tortoise did that gameplay to be immune to those bans, especially to not let their opponents know what to ban against Tortoise also they did prepared for other ops that have similar skills to improvise. But props to Everec for Banning Aurora since she was one of the key of Tortoise 4 minutes timer.
@@snowyatsu91 were competitors allowed to see their opponent's clear? bc I felt like banning Vulcan or Franka would completely kill Tortoise's finisher (max ASPD Manfred shooting Vulcan into Franka), but Everec didnt notice Tortoise going for his finisher every single round
