I'm honestly kinda surprised someone else even remembered the whole lore explanation that CC is a system put in place by Catastrophe Messengers. Something I feel like was immediately lost with Pinch Out (starting with the fact that the name is incredibly lame) is the idea that you're at least just a little bit cool. The whole "it's about saving more lives" tagline is all about that. I think unfortunately Pinch Out isn't going to be able to give us something as thematically consistent and cool as Basepoint - musically, map design wise, bringing back "The" Avenger, and giving him some neat flavor text. Did you know that in beta, in the UI that no one used, they had a whole bit of flavor text for every contract explaining why it was in place? For instance, ATK down was your own operators holding back because enemies were holding valuable and fragile cargo. That thing being removed is the sort of thing I mean when I say thematically cool.
Even now, if you click on contract details, and you look up the names of the contracts on the contract list it kinda gives you an idea of why a limit has been set. It's a neat little thing. Like deployment limit restriction is called Environment: Crossfire zone and squad size limit is called Objective: Covert Action . Like it makes sense you can't just shove all your guys into a map if the concern is friendly crossfire, and you wouldn't bring that many people with you on a covert mission.
I remember the flavor text, that's the kind of thing that I really look out for in games. I also remember not doing CC, because thinking make me head owie, and also probably because I was pre-occupied with another Gacha Game.
As someone who is def not the brightest in terms of gameplay in Arknights. The CC Music was actually something that made me cherish the game and made me really get into Arknights.
We've all experienced pain in CC beta, but my first fond memories of CC was in CC 0, where I first achieved R18 and could finally justify building Hoshiguma to the naysayers This CC will be memorable to me too as the first CC where I came up with my own niche and R18'd it (yes, because the perma map is THAT easy)
I barely managed to R17 CC#0 with my E1 Hoshi (and she barely survived), I was only managed to E2 her too late after the CC (Myrtle and Siege was my only E2s at the time) kekw
I unfortunately only got into the game in time for CC#2 but I’ll forever be proud of how I spitefully ignored my friend telling me you needed Weedy for the red weebs, and took them out with Schwarz and Nian instead. My R18s may be few in number but I still consider that to be the best one.
for me the clear that started the CC hype was the CCb magallan stall strat. it was a massive bigbrain and gave her the "big brain operator" title that she holds to this day.
first off dude seriously your editing on this video was amazing i had to stop at several points to reread certain text pieces and the video flowed together really well and also holy based cc11 theme liker
Another RUclipsr discovers the Maxor format, one of my favorite types... However, I will always hate the cc11 lobby theme. MSR has dropped many bangers but this isn't one of them.
Arknights has reached a point where no one uses my m3 Surtr but rather my April. So many easy ways to beat the game now. But can't say about high risk cc though . That is another realm level
I feel like this could also be just a ton of people either getting their own or other people on their friendslist also having one. I know personally I tend to reach for more well built niche units from support cause I dont have them built
Support character economy is about supply and demand. It's likely that Surtr is oversupplied and no one put up April. It also depends on the released content. For example, Ethan was popular during the dishware map. I put up an M3 Ethan and he got taken out a lot.
CC#11 lobby theme is *relatively* bad with triple emphasis on "relatively". I'd heard it was bad but when I actually listened to it, it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. In fact, it was good but definitely on the weaker side among other CC lobby theme. So, yeah. CC#11 lobby theme may be the worst among other CC lobby theme but it's still good. If you think otherwise, fight me or you're the weak links or the faint of heart.
I started during the middle of CC8 and CC9 later....imagine the pain of me trying to do even Risk 0.. learning stuff that i shouldn't learn yet...thank god CC11 is easy
My favorite time of the year: watching 20 different billibilli clears, all the EN guide makers and the madlads doing challenge runs just to get a single R18 clear since my smooth brain can't go higher
I started playing Arknights in between cc2 and cc3 by my memory, but I never tried cc until cc5. I miss those days. I would kill just to be able to replay old CCs as they were with the same op selection because cc5, cc6, and cc7 was some of the most fun I’ve had in Arknights period. I hold Arknights to a higher standard, treating it as one of the only gachas I play solely because the gameplay stands on its own, but some of the most fun I’ve had is with CC. I enjoy side modes like IS and even SSS, but nothing beats chasing a stage, relentlessly trying to scale that mounts again and again, reaching an achievement that may be overshadowed by others, may not be special in any specific way, but is still dear to you because you were the one that achieved it. cc5 will always be my favorite cc, primarily because I was so bad back then. I was having so much fun taking squad size down 2 and attack down 2. I found merit in just playing the game for fun. Similarly, I had so much fun with cc7. Obtaining week 1 risk 20 and making the most of what I had, then immediately forgetting everything and being unable to take the free firecracker risk that would push me to risk 21. I think I will look back on cc11 the same way. I achieved r21 with a niche of my own creation, watching others go further and do things more impressive, but all I can think is “I beat my personal best!” whilst also being so happy for the people doing more. I will probably always pine for the good old days of Arknights. Back in my day Chalter was the new meta and this blue woman only had a comically oversized super soaker. Back in my day module upgrades weren’t a thing and Abjurers were actually bad. Back in my day we played originium dust and malded against the boss and -80 aspd. Back in my day A Walk In The Dust was the best event ever, and for my money it still is. But things must move on. There is no meaning in a static world, and as much as I wish I could relive the good old days I also love looking forward, to the future. Silence alter is a 6* abjurer! Ines and Santalla are released from npc prison! Every new boss is oh so interesting! Just like how you said cc must go, I shall agree with you. But I will still remember it fondly. Also pinch out looks pretty good actually it’s just the permanent map has effectively a +1000% hp tag for whatever reason I’m excited for POO.
For me, CC0 was what really made me smile & appreciate the game by stalling Red Avenger with Angelina & Shaw. It was then I realized that anything could be possible if you really take time to think.

I joined in too recently to experience the whole CC journey, with my first being CC10 Ashring where I got absolutely mauled by Manfred, the boys and the cannon by having a still underdeveloped squad (which was also the first time experiencing chapter 10 mechanics for me because I didn't get there yet at the time Ashring was up) Come CC11 and I managed to get Risk 18 with a way mote robust team on top of getting the extra challenges which made me feel very happy to have come this far in a short even if it is much much easier Can't wait for CC12 and face the avenger in bloody combat for the pink thing's hand in marriage

i remember the early cc with the w event mechanics and cc blade. stopped playing them after cc spectrum for some reason. But I did play fake waves and deepness. like you said, they don't feel the same. I remember using ifrit to shoot across two lanes in operation cinder and I remember sitting in the lobby listening to operation blade. But I have almost no memory of operations after that. I had to look them up just to type this. Sure, I remember using weedy s2 to hold the right lane and kal and skalter s3 to kill the archer dude in operation spectrum but it doesn't have the same impact as those early ones did. i miss those early cc's a lot actually.
Ah..... Pinch Out.. The "dailies" were fun to play at least. Didn't want to deal with every single enemy being tanky as heck so 420 was all I was willing to do. I did get most of the stuff from shop tho. 💀
coming here after cc12 just adios'd itself 3 days after I finally managed to pull of the only vaguely nichenights r18 clear I'll ever do, I just want to say that there will come a day where only the real boomers remember the easy days of cc11 and I am equal parts scared and excited for what comes next.

As a newer player who had Arknights on his phone for years but only started around January 2023, I didn't really know what the heck was going on when CC10 was happening, so CC11 is my first real CC event. I loved it a lot, even if I had to borrow a Mlynar at the time for CC18 (I think I got up to 16 on my own). I just wish there was a legacy mode where you can revisit each one in its fully glory. I know there is power creep going on (you see gnosis, bagpipe, etc etc everywhere), but as someone with a more mid-level account, i really wish I had a better way to measure how strong both my team is and how good I am at the game. I'm looking forward to CC12 when it hits global, and I intend to really dig into even more than CC11.
ahh yes for the last 3 years i feel it all, since CC Beta to Basepoint, i try to reach the max possible risk that my account can reach on EVERY CC... to the point where my friends call me MAD. But yes the golden age of CC is over, i played Basepoint and reach only 29, no hope for me to play it on EN since i have plan to sell my EN account. The CC might be over , but the memory and the PAIN stays with me, with us the players... forever My Favorite CC is Cinder dan Spectrum btw
He is salty because his niche became meta now
