      Thank you! Great call ! That’s the first and very important step is to see how much paint you’re working with.

    rupes says prime the pad this way but polishing one spot for 15 seconds with a lot of polish on the pad plus applying a little pressure can take off a lot clear coat specially if it is a soft clear coat
    not the safest technique in my not so professional opinion

    How many compound and polishing pads for one car? Good video too, man.

      Don’t need a lot of compound for polishing one car. With the Rupes compound you only need about 2 - pea sized drops per panel that you’re polishing. I use about 3-5 polishing pads per car. That includes different size pads, such as the 3” , 5” or 6” Rupes pads. The smaller pads are great for tighter areas of the car. The 6” pads are good for large flat areas like the roof or hood.
      The Rupes 250 ml bottle is a great size for one car.

    Hey man have you ever polished a 2018-2022 Honda Accord? Any particular pad/polish combo that works well? Looking for similar correction like in this video, more of an enhancement/one step, nothing more. I only have an 8mm throw DA, but I do have the Meguiar’s 5 inch bp and their 5 inch foam discs from red cutting to black finishing. I already did a test spot with the yellow foam polishing disc a long with Meguiar’s 166, and it seemed to do a decent job on speed 4 with light pressure. I’m trying to go with the least aggressive method, I also have Meguiar’s ultimate polish and Meguiar’s 06 cleaner wax. I might try ultimate polish next, but I’m curious if you have experience with those years Honda Accord and what has been a good combo in your experience? Mine is a 2018 in still night pearl, similar color like the vehicle in this video, it seems to have a haze particularly on the hood, top, trunk area, the sides, doors, bumpers, fenders aren’t bad at all, I’ve always washed, clayed, waxed my vehicle, but that haze and light staining isn’t coming out with just a wash, clay, seal anymore, looks like I need to step it up to polishing, just wondering if you have any ideas for a good combo? Thanks

      For a one step polish I highly recommend the Rupes DA yellow foam pad and the Rupes DA Fine Polishing Compound. I often get excellent results with that combination. Great cutting and finishing all in one.

      Yes I have. It’s a great polishing pad . Great balance of cutting ability and finishing on most paint systems .

      @@southsidedetail how well does it work on soft paint I was thinking of using it on 2021 Hyundai palisade but not sure if it’s going to be to aggressive

      @southsidedetail  11 месяцев назад

      @@whalen530for soft paints I would start with the Rupes Yellow Fine Foam pad first.
      It also depends on how much defect removal you are looking to achieve. Wool sometimes can leave DA haze or micro marring that will need to be finished with a second step and a softer pad.
