I think in this category the word "shirt" is deceiving. I own mesh jackets and shirts and just to be clear the mesh jackets are lighter. With the shirts once you get 11 or 13 oz, plus Kevlar, plus the taffeta lining to lay against your skin, these feel like coats. Does not feel like a shirt when you grab it. Does not feel like a shirt when you put it on. Just saying that the word shirt is slightly deceiving in this category. These are jackets masquerading as shirts just to be clear
I like the Resurgance as it seems good value for money, but a question on the buttons. What are they made of? Likewise on the Belstaff. Are the buttons at the bottom brass like the rest? Potential tank scratchers?
A very positive review for the Resurgence shirt, but couldn‘t you have mentioned how useless the pockets are? You can‘t fit an iPhone in the internal pocket and the outer pockets are as useful as a chocolate teapot. It‘s a nice shirt, but I might have gone for a different option if I‘d known how limited it is.
Resurgence Gear for me. I have a pair of their New Wave jeans. 11 seconds slide time. Made from the same stuff as this shirt. Cool to wear. Looks way more stylish than the rip-off Belstaff, too.
@@nickfifield1 I’ve just bought the AAA rated Resurgence to wear under an A rated Vannucci VUJ-1 SOFTSHELL MOTORBIKE JACKET in the hope that it’s cooler than my leather jacket on hot days on Swiss motorways heading to the Alps.
Hello guys ;) Is there pockets on the front sides of the jacket? We can see them on the "sand" one (shows in your video) but it's not that clear/visible on the black one. Thanks ;)
On the John Doe website a few of the colorways must AAA rather than AA. Seems odd only certain colors would have a different rating... You guys know anything about that?
Good review but as usual people don't show the details of the inside jacket! The Revit one looks good but unfortunately the max size is 3XL, a pity of business........
I’m in australia so I need to make sure the John Doe motor shirt fits so I don’t have to send back. Hard to tell on the size guide. I’m 5’11 and 84kg. Most shirts I wear are large. Would you recommend going XL or go Large?
HI Damien, I recommend having a closer look to our size guide on our website. The best way to approach this is to take your favourite jacket, lay it flat on the table and compare the measurments to the size guide. Hope this helps - Iza :)

“Something qualitative that you can’t quite put your finger on”? For that price, you better put your entire hand on it. This just comes off like hipster fawning

‘Shirt’ just means it looks like a shirt
Really well made reviews guys, thank you. These riding shirts are expensive so it's great to digest some good info. Cheers from Sydney.
Our pleasure!
Excellent review. I like the b_roll showing us the gear.

Save yourself the money and just get an ICON armored compression shirt and wear your flannel shirts over it. You're welcome.
flannel plus ICON cost the same as one of these and these have nicer fit
Great thanks for the reviews...looking for a more casual outer layer when still wearing my Tech-Air 5 vest...
Does the joe doe or others flow air like a mesh jacket ?

Good quality?
Does the shirt flow air like a mesh jacket? Looking for uk summer jacket, but most are less than AA level or do t fit me
@@Soshi12005 The best.
@@nickfifield1 No.

Does the resurgence single layer still cool for summer? Vs a mesh. Thanks

Hi! What shirt in the video are you referring to? - Iza

So how well will these unattached/untucked shirts protect you sliding down the road?
Much better than the t shirts most wear.
The Merlin has zip to attach to your jeans at the back
Thank you for this i bought the Holyfreedom jeans type one excellent fit and style.
Yall riiiich riich with these shirts.

Maybe these work for riding around town, but in the heat or for serious longer distance riding, not very practical.
Is there armor in the shoulders?
Hi, all the riding shirts have armour in the elbow and shoulders! - Iza :)
Do these riding shirts keep you cool in the summer? How compare to mesh jacket for keeping you cool?
Hi Nick, The mesh jackets allow more air in and makes the garment more breathable - Iza :)
Nice items, but I wish they stopped referring to them as "shirts". They are jackets, definitely heavier and a lot hotter than most mesh.
John doe got the most unusual logo or brand placement smacked on lower right back for all to see 😁..just weird.
_The John Doe motoshirt in beige / Olive is my favourite looks wise_ 😍
👌🏻
I wish there was a women’s version of this video. If anyone knows where I can find the same thing but with a women’s cut please let me know!
